scannon
Great video of a still functioning machine shop right out of the 1920s. http://www.youtube.com/embed/BckZ4i1BzF0?feature=player_embedded

Z3 Stalker
Well that brought back the memories of being an apprentice, using every machine in the shop, the smell of cutting oil and dodging hot cuttings

bsimon
The dirt floors are classic. No damage to repair if you tore a piece part loose from a chuck. I was really hoping there would be some footage of single point threading a tapered API connection. With all the CNC oil patch lathes used today, I'll bet there are very few people that can still master that art.
DeanG
I worked at P&WA when they still had wood block floors. 2x4 wooden blocks set it grain side vertical, soaked with creosote. Much nicer on the feet & parts than concrete. Now with a lights out shop it doesn't matter.
