rnr Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 The Golden Gate Lotus Club is shooting a video at Infineon Raceway (aka Sears Point, Race Sonoma) on May 20 and we need a Seven to participate in it. The car does not need to be running as it will be parked at one spot for the video with owner standing by it. We would ideally like a car that looks along the lines of an original Seven - a Caterham, Westfield, Birkin, etc... would be great. The shoot wil start at 10 am and go till around 1. Lunch will be provided and you will get to check out the other cars including the ex-Andretti Lotus-77 F1 car that was used in the filming of Rush. The shoot is going to be at the workshop where the Lotus 77 is held so there will be a lot of vintage F1 machinery to ogle at. You can see some examples of our past videos at http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCezpS8OVFywFTKuhB3GQvGQ Please post here or PM me if you'd like to participate or have any questions. P.S.: Posted in general section to get more eyeballs

I raced a Lotus Elite for 20+ years at Sears Point events, as well as elsewhere on the Pacific Coast. It would be like old home week. I'm in Auburn CA, about 2 hours max from Sears Point.
scannon Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Hank, I think that would be a perfect car for the shoot.
HankMauel Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Well, we'll see what rnr has to say about it. I'd love to do it! Here's another angle to view:http://pic20.picturetrail.com:80/VOL1589/7808673/19264650/399688813.jpg
rnr Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 We have a winner!!!! I'll pm you with more shoot info.
HankMauel Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Thank you. Here is what it looked like, sans dry sump Twin Cam, when I began the resto. http://pic20.picturetrail.com:80/VOL1589/7808673/19264650/308710048.jpg
HankMauel Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) ..or you are a masochist. But they really are simple once you get down to the basics and remove previous owner(s) F.U.'s. Mine has been back on the road for 3+ years with no problems. With a well rebuilt BMC A motor and transmission, complete rewiring with heavier gauge wires and REAL connectors it has not failed me yet...even in darkness!
