Landshark, I'm also in Orange County if you ever want to get together for a drive. This summer should see my Locost get road legal!

Went to Concord High back in the mid-70s... went into the military (not really; Air Force) and within 4 years it wasn't worth going back. Too expensive and friends all moved away cause they couldn't afford to live there.

Sounds great to me! I've heard there was another 7 around HB. In fact, there is a tuner over off Gothard / Warner that specializes in the S2K engines that I'd like to visit!

I'm in LA, Century City/WLA area, usually try to get out at least once a day for a couple of hour rolling lunch, longer on the weekends if the family’s working. Give me a shout and we’ll go for a blat Marshall

Just joined the fun and hoping this thread isn't too old. I'm in Torrance with my Westfield seiw and looking for some local meets and hopefully someone with the knowledge to sort this car. I'm not sure the California Caterham Club would be so welcoming to an old purple Westy but I joined their group too.

Welcome aboard. I'm down in Escondido with an old S2 Seven......CCC doesn't discriminate against Westfields....Or Lotus either. In the end they're all just Sevens. :)

Welcome to the club. I have a Westfield SEiW that I built last year. I'm about 100 miles north of you. What engine/drivetrain do you have?

I bought a 1994 or so SEiW built by Bob Yarwood with the Sierra drivetrain (5 speed), 1700 xflow, Kent cam, and dual webers. At least that's what I'm told. It's a blast to drive but I have some problems to sort out when I can find the time. (Leaky carbs, mysterious electrical problems, oil leaks)

I haven't made it down to escondido in awhile but when I did I visited the Stone Brewery. It would be a great to get some confidence in my car enough to make the three hour drive down there to visit my friends again.

Coventry, that was my car's spec before tearing it down to the frame in '03/'04 and going in a new direction. I might be able to help with some the issues, or at least provide more details on the car. Drop me a PM if you'd like to connect.

Im in San Diego and drive my V8 Stalker all the time. Let me know if you want to meet up some time.

Scott

I can't imagine driving one of these glorious little cars with the familiar torque curve of a V8. I have had so much fun with my four cylinder. Which V8 did you get?

Hi all LA 7 Owners,

Picking up a Zetec 2.0 S3 this weekend. Based out of Santa Monica.

Are there any guys out this way who might be able to recommend any shops that are familiar with these cars that would be great.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

My wife and I live right on the Santa Monica and LA border. I do not know of a shop directly familiar with Sevens in the Santa Monica area, but there are few British car repair shops in the immediate area that might be worth calling. I generally recommend Tony Ingram Historic Racing (an old friend of mine), in Santa Barbara, Jeff at JAE in Goleta, or Frank Monise Motors in Montclair for Lotus and Seven related work or questions. They are all a bit of a drive from Santa Monica, but are extremely knowledgable. Someone from the California Caterham Club may know of other local shops.

I hope this helps,

Dave

My good friend Steve Beck at Checkpoint Automotive is VERY familiar with these cars . . . Checkpoint is a BMW repair shop, but Steve owns a Caterham and takes care of several others in the area.On Saturday, August 1st, a number of us 7 owners are planning to go the Cars & Coffee in Palos Verdes.Alan
