This is what I've changed so far:

Jenvey throttle bodies

K&N air filters

Emerald ECU

Raceline water rail

Esslinger UDP and cam pulleys

ARP rod bolts, cam bolts, and flywheel bolts

Oval Craft breather tank

Fuel Safe fuel cell plumbed with 3/8" stainless hard lines and AN6 braided lines

Walbro fuel pump with AN6 fittings

Canton Mecca fuel filter with Russel pre-filter

Swapped VDO ammeter for voltmeter and added VDO oil temp and vacuum gauges

Rewired Birkin harness and added additional fuse block and shift light

Woody Harris' reinforced lower control arms with upgraded ball joints

Woody Harris' rear trailing arm kit with heim joints and 175# rear springs

Oil pressure gauge line replaced with 1/4" stainless hard line and AN4 braided lines

Oil pressure warning light set to 20psi

BGH geartech sporting close gears in T9 tranny with Quaife cover

Odyssey battery, Magnecor spark plug wires

Geo alternator mounted on intake side with Pete C's bracket

Insulated driver and passenger footwells

Spa mirrors

Red powder coated cam cover off of e-bay for $35. My best deal yet and it matches the TB's! :)

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. What I might do in the future:

Upgraded cams and head

Lowered floors

Side exhaust

Quaiffe LSD

Lighter wheels, stickier tires

It's not just a car, it's a hobby!! :D

Nothing like the above posts until you consider my car started as a dead and ready for the junk yard MGB and now has been brought back to life as a Replica of a Lotus 7 or Locost 7 and by no means as low-cost as the book said it would be in the end but still a lot of fun and it dose not even look like an MGB or run like one. It runs better and the smile is much greater.

Dang, Tom...that was certainly a very high initial spec! Orange was already assembled, so I didn't have much choice in what I got.

Al, Once I decided I wanted a 7 I think I read everything ever written about them. After about five years of research, I was ready to order. At the time, the superlight SLR was the top spec. So I ordered it that way. Then while waiting for delivery the R500 spec came out. I was crushed. There was a faster version. :ack:

But then I saw that the R500 engine required a "refresh" after around 3000 miles   And after driving mine, I don't think I could handle another 40+ HP. I can't imagine the new Duratec engined 7's with 260-300 hp. I guess that power helps with the top end on the track. For autox it seems like overkill, at least to me.

I guess I did make one addition, THE SLICKS. Now that really transformed the handling. If you think a seven handles well on street tires. Try a set of slicks. Shame they don't make street legal slicks!

Tom
