That looks like the plate on the late Graham Nearn's Super Seven SS Twin-Cam (the grille bars look like his SS, but the headlamp brackets should be curved, and a bit lower, I think). One of 13 or 14 Twin-Cam SS's, the rarest Seven variant.

My Caterham has the Colorado plate ONABLAT. I have to explain what it means to everyone except Se7en owners.

And yes, I know, the wheel is on the wrong side of the car. I had to move it to get the beater Miata in the shop and didn't pay attention to orientation since they were coming back off the car before it got driven.

You are correct that it is Graham Nearn's SS Twin Cam. It is the former Earl's Court show car from '69. It is SS #1 of 13 total built.

It's very upscale for a Seven as far as creature comforts go:

I went another way. Here in Washington state if you have a classic car and you can find a serviceable number plate of the year of manufacture. You can register it with that plate. I was able to find a pristine plate from 1983 on ebay for $30 and did a permanent reg for $55. And I'm done forever. No annual fees under a classic registration & out here in flyover country, The rozzers don't really care that I drive it all the time.
