Log 35

At LOG 27 (Aspen) there were Caterhams, Birkins and a Donkervordt. More clones than Lotus 7s. No one was made to park in the back. IIRC there were about 15 Sevens plus several Mark VIs and even older Lotus cars.

At LOG 31 (Las Vegas) there was a single Mark VI and my Caterham. I parked behind the VI since he got there first.

I was never made to feel that I was a 2nd class citizen. LOCO is the host club for LOG 35 and they are Se7en friendly.

I agree with Skip. I've been a member of LOCO for several years and feel like I am part of the family.

My Birkin and Baby 7 even won a "Favorite Lotus" ribbon at the local Concours d'Elegance a couple of years back. Those who voted to award my cars the ribbon were LOCO members.

I just returned from the LOCO monthly meeting where I expressed the concerns some people on this forum have about being snubbed at the LOG. The LOG chairman said all Se7ens are welcomed with open arms. There will always be a few of the snobs in any club but not LOCO. Take a look at the club's home page:

http://www.lotuscolorado.com/

On the lower left of the home page is a picture of 7 Se7ens most of which are clones of various types. This was taken at the British Motoring Conclave show. I believe that year there were as many Se7ens as other Lotus cars in the Lotus area. This year there were only my Caterham and a Lotus 7 S4 which was actually built after the transition from Lotus to Caterham.

The LOG 35 homepage is at: http://lotusownersgathering.com/

One of the events at the LOG will be an assault on Pikes Peak. We will be the first cars allowed on the mountain that Sunday AM. The road is owned by the city of Colorado Springs and we will pre-stage and a ranger will collect the fees and give us our window stickers then escort us to the gate. There will be an Elise pace car but it is understood that we will be driving briskly and not observing the speed limits. This club does tend to haul ass in the mountains. :D

From when I did my CSR shake down runs in Denver a few years back, I will say that Skip's club group was very inclusive - great bunch of people. If any group can avoid the snobbery they can. Its probably just an East Coast thing anyway :p

Gee do I remember this. Brand new car, unfamiliar roads and the group just went hyperspace on me at warp 100+! Absolutely brilliant roads. One day I want to ship a seven back out there to try the roads in depth. Unfortunately LOG will coincide when I am scheduled for French wine testing in 2015.

Well, I hope it's true.

LOCO perhaps more friendly....but not too sure in national event.

Looking at the picture of the last log (34), seems their are only a handful of 7 out there & most are real 7. The pretenders are gone! Used to be a lot. http://www.nelli.org/Events

but overall...we need to come back together - enjoy and hopefully i can bring a gallon of moonshine and drink together.

I attended the LOG in Birmingham a few years back with my Rossion. The West Coast Lotus Meet in my Noble. Yeah... we were one of the "other" cars, but it was all fun.

We intend on arriving with a Zenos at LOG 35. Planning an EPIC road trip now that has 11 people already signed up for. We are driving from points southeast (Atlanta, Chattanooga, Birmingham) and from points Southwest (San Diego, Los Angeles) to Colorado. Should be a fun trip.

One other point on LOG 35, the chairman asked everyone if you are even thinking about attending to make your hotel reservations now as that helps with both the event hotel's perks for us as well as giving the national club board more confidence in us as the host motel.

Reservations at the host hotel can be cancelled with no penalty if done 73 hours prior to the first day of the reservation.
