  1. I don't know that you will have much gain in power it just eliminates the leaks at all the slip joints. That constant ticking exhaust leak drives me nuts. It is probably going to cost about 500.00 for a set. We won't have a final price until we know how many we are going to make.
  2. I always do a fresh brake bleed with new fluid especially if your fluid is old. It absorbs water and it will boil when it gets hot. This will make for soft brake pedal. I use a high temp fluid Wilwood 600 degree. Standard fluids you get at the parts store will start to boil at 350-400 degrees. Torque lug nuts. Check fire extinguisher pressure. Battery hold down is tight check ball joints and wheel bearings for slop.
  3. Sorry for the delay in posting some pics. This is what we are looking at doing. This one has alot of welds but the new ones will be mandrel bent with fewer welds. If anyone is intrested in going this route let me know. If we get a few sets done they are more reasonable priced.
  4. I am lucky enough to have a 30x40 shop behind the house. It seems to be full of something all the time. So this weekend I am adding a second floor to half of it for storage of spare parts and seldom used items that i dont want to get rid off. My wife has grand ideas to store her holiday decorations in the addition . I don't think that is going to work out for me. I am going to move my large air compressor to an outdoor place and build a cover or a room for it. It takes up 18 sqft that I could use for other things. The new loft gives me 600 sq ft more to work with. It will only have 4' height on the edges, but is almost 8' in the center. I would love to epoxy coat the floor ,but it most likely will never get done because I would have to move everything out and blast track or grind the floor to do it properly.
  5. If you are going to run long distance then you may want to use 3/4 pipe to keep the cfm flow rate up. Using 1/2 over a long distance will cause a drop in performance.
  6. I think that the new Yamaha V Max engine would be a sweet BEC choice. It is 198hp right out of the box, V4 design and pretty good torque for a bike engine.
  7. Eddie if you still live in Texas we will have to notify you when we have the 7s fest next year at Motorsports Ranch. It would be fun to run with some Atoms I have always wanted to see one maybe catch a few laps with a legend.
  8. Do it like the Brits do it build it in the living room then tear down a wall when it's ready to go.
  9. I would love to know how you make a 74 Cuda faster than Johns bada$$. 7
  10. Eddie welcome to the club. It is an honor to have you here. Im glad to see you are still driving the wheels off your cars. What hp version is your ecotec engine. Hallett is a fun track 1.19 is a smoking lap time congrats on yet another record.
  11. Not sure if there any in Florida let me make a few calls I will get back to you.
  12. You can buy a DVR recorder with four cameras runs on 110v pretty decent camera with decent lens. We set these up in my father in laws apt complex laundry room where the machines are always being broken into.
  13. I really like the fireman vs policeman.
  14. That is so cool!
  15. Pete has a Birkin with a modded Duratec from what I remember.
  16. Ultralites usually run 205 and 235. For a stock 240 hp car it works pretty well. It just wasn't enough tire for us. The wider tires are a little harder to get warmed up though. To really get best lap times we switch to 15 x 10 wheels with Hoosier slicks for reduced ride height lower wheel mass and weight. I personally don't want this look for street driving.
  17. Dry sumps work with a stacked pump arrangement. Usually you have a pressure section and then suction sections that pick up the oil at different places on the engine. You can have 2, 3 or 4 suction sections depending on your needs. You will have a oil resevoir usually several quarts more than your normal pan holds 8-12 qt is common. You will usually have a oil pressure bypass valve to set your pressure. Then an external oil filter is in a normal set up. You may have to block off engine oil galley where the stock pump feeds into it so it doesnt just dump oil straight to the pan. There are alot of associated hoses required to plumb all this in. I wouldn't recommend a dry sump unless you are having oil starvation problems usually only occurs on the race track where your lat Gs are getting up in the 1.5+ range. The Honda engines we use do fine for most tracks, but we have damaged a few engine at Run and Gun due to the banked oval that allows for high G load and engine is turning 7500-8000 rpm. At this engine speed we are pumping alot of oil and can uncover the pump even with it over filled with 6qts.
  18. I run 225/40/17 in front 275/35/17 in back.
