  2. Rod I have been following your build on the Locost site. I am very impressed with all the work you have put in it. You will enjoy that car for years to come. Just get ready for all the attention that bad boy is going to attract.

    Wtf

Jerry I am right there with you going down memory road. I grew up in the country. It wasnt uncommon for use to be going down the road at 65 and my dad send us out the side window into the bed of the pickup to get a cold drink out of the cooler. We did it all the time. Luckily we never got hurt but I think back and say WTF.

    Wtf

Make a few vehicle accidents where the passenger was riding in the bed of the pick up and you would see why its a law. We use to drive around without seat belts and airbags most of us made it ok. Alot have not. I have been a paramedic for the last 14 years. I have seen a steady decline in the amount of serious accidents over the last ten years. The saftey improvements in modern vehicles are really making a difference. Man I hate to agree with a government bureaucrat. We now drive up to accidents that we think for sure there is a fatality and the driver is walking around. Nearly every serious injury is from someone who wasnt wearing a seat belt or rollover with ejection because they were not belted in. So I have to disagree with Jerry for the first time ever. Let the adults ride in the back, they will have to live with the end result. Children have no control. In Texas you will end up in jail and CPS would mostly likely be paying you visit.
  5. I would love to go to SEMA some year. They have some cool stuff there.
  6. Mondo I found the pictures of my set up. It worked pretty well until you got to a really long sweeper. I think I just needed my trap doors to be about 1" or 2 higher so that it would hold more fuel.
  7. Thanks for the info I will have to find a rack that will work for me.
  8. I didnt know that BMW made monster trucks!
  9. The problem with fuel pump coming off is not that uncommon. The in tank fuel pump has a taper to it and is not barbed to hold the hose on even with a clamp. On my car i welded a bar on the access lid and the fuel pump was clamped to the bar. This keeps the fuel pump getting wiggled off the hose when fuel sloshes back and forth. I have a picture somewhere.
  10. Snookwheel what kind of wiring is required to install that unit. It looks like it works pretty well. I would consider doing something like that to my car.
  11. Wow it only took 150hrs to put my first Ultralite together.
  12. That is a sweet car. It is a smoking deal at that price. I would jerk that motor and put something a little more potent in there.
  13. Busa the Z is looking really good. I miss mine. I think of building another one all the time. Post some pics when you get it all done. It looks great from what I can see. What diff are you using? R230?
  14. a LS3 should fit in there nicely and you can have 470hp. Probably the same weight as that cast iron block v6.
  15. I didnt see one person reading directions. My wife would never understand!
  16. that is what you get for listening to rumors. I have never been semi normal.
  17. Saw a show on speed last night with the new Lincoln MKV twin turbo v6 racing up a mountain road in Colorado. All the cars were driven by Millen I think Rob Millen long time nissan racer Pikes Peak champion. The competition was the new Jag XF, BMW 550i, Mercedes 550, Maserati Quatroporte. It took second place. It was an interesting show. Looks like the big 3 are getting serious about showing how they compare against the Euro performance cars.
  18. yes it is mandatory! We have the brackets in stock.
  19. Here are a few pics of the TD 1.2 in black.
  20. 275 tires will fit a 9.0" rim no problem. You wont be able to go much wider than that though.
  21. Reminds me of a few years ago. This looks a little worse.
  22. Thats about right. He doesnt carry alot of oddball sizes and bolt patterns like we use. If need them for a Miata he has 100 of them. The price you pay for being different.
  23. I would love to go for a ride in a Ls1 Miata. I will have to look around for one in Texas. I think a 480hp ls3 would be a blast. I am worried that the emissions increases are going to make these kinds of vehicles hard to do. Even in the land of Texas where it is fairly easy.
  24. I prefer to call the U.S. distributor you faster action. 909 947 0114
