The S1 is no longer produced but it was made in South Africa by Superformance. Superformance builds mostly cobra and Gt40 cars they are very nice cars. I think they went for about 25k without engine or tranny. I still prefer the Ultralite for track use. And road use but my Ultralite gets serious real quick with 300 hp at the wheels. The S1 is about 200lbs heavier but it has built in windscreen and doors and full leather interior and such you can put what ever engine you like in it. I would put an s2000 motor in one if I had the choice( called me biased). It would just be a more refined ride that would have great performance, plus I really like the looks of the S1 too. But performance wise I dont think it can compete with the Ultralite. You would just have to go for a ride in MOJO ( my green car to understand) Maybe someone that took a ride at 777 can attest to its perfomance.

S1 for sale on ebay looks like a good deal. The Superformance cars are really pretty plush, I would love to have on of these to just cruise in. If you own a vette or porsche and you see a cute little S2K show up at the local track, you might want to lose you keys to save face. Make that 2 porches and 2 Cheevys...... MOJO has got an apatite and a bit of an attitude..... Such a cute little car.... I guess it doesn't matter what color you paint them..... Although yellow does show up better in the rear view mirror. Guess what new trick Mojo has learned from the Neon's? I think she's practicing to maybe piss on a vette rim. lap 6 Lap 8 Lap 6 Lap 8

Organic Racing car out of action
WestTexasS2K replied to WestTexasS2K's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Kevin sent some pics last night but it is a little hard to see but I think we car just remove the rear skin, cut a few of the damaged tubes out and rebuild it that way. The top rear hoop where the cover attaches looks good but the bottom one is bent and broken and the rear diff mount area is bent pretty well. It bent a few suspension pieces too. But I think we can patch her back good as new without a complete new chassis. -

They had an advert on the 1 lap site. They cover cars that are used on the track. I believe that the 600.00 was for 1 year but it didnt cover the car on the street just track use. But it was an agreed value coverage. You can contact and fill out the application it takes about 2 weeks to get a quote. I think that it is a resonable rate just didnt have the money at the time. If they would cover the car for normal use then i would be all over it for that price. Contact Brett Ross at 630 215 5257 with Everitt Boles Ltd they are based in London but he is the U.S agent. For some reason none of my link attachments seem to work. They attach but when you try to go to the link it is not there. Any ideas? http://www.onelapofamerica.com/whatsNew/index.shtml?0121 -
Organic Racing car out of action

I think he was a little green on the track just moved up to the faster group and probably his street instinicts kicked in and not his racing instincts. Sure makes me wish I would have gotten that track insurance that I just turned down last month, 600.00 would be cheap right now. -
Organic Racing car out of action

Oh yeah Kevin was fine. A little miffed at the guy though for not following the rules. The vette driver couldn't be found after the session. Probably a good thing. -
Well it finally happened. Kevin had my car at Panoz track day at Road Atlanta whopping some serious GT3 and corvette Zo6 butts. They moved a car up from the group B class to Group A the faster class. The guy was in a vette and waved Kevin by on the left side the vette was offline. So as Kevin begins to pass the guy with about a 20 mph surplus the guy pulls back online right in front of Kevin. Kevin got on the brakes hard and barely misses rear ending the guy. The guy see Kevin on his ass and panics and slams on his brakes. Kevin swerves to miss him and spins into a cement wall with the back of the car. Good news is the wall didnt touch the body at all. The bad news is the trailer hitch hit the wall hard in the spin. The Trailer hitch happens to be very stoute and is tied to the rear frame structure. As it hit the wall in a spinning motion it hit with enough force bend the rear frame section over about 2" and wrinkled all the rear metal. I havent seen pics yet so I dont know how much to cry but it looks like Run and Gun is going to be a tough to make but we will give it a good try rest assured. It looks like we may have to replace the whole chassis which means basicly building a whole car all over again. Paint, wiring interior flush mount tail lights and transfering all the mechanicals interior etc. So we will see.:ack:

I have to agree with scannon. The initial cost isnt much at 20-40 per member but it would cost 60-80 to ship it just one way. I can get mine done locally for 35.00. Instresting thought though.

Hood Latches = Bonnet Toggles
WestTexasS2K replied to solder_guy's topic in General Sevens Discussion
I use these on the Ultralite. They are self latching so you dont have to keep up with a pin plus you can adjust the tension if you like. I have never had mine come loose. http://http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecId=779 -
If I remember correctly the Hoosier 25 is a bias ply tire so you can not run with very much camber. The radial hoosier A6 for autocross R6 for road racing is supposed to be the new king of the hill. But the BF Goodrich Gforce R1 is looking pretty good too. But they are not available in 13 or 14.

Dont have a pic of my hoop and since the car is still in GA I cant go take one. I have seen them made from 1" tubing bent in a U shap and the pics mine is made of 1 1/4 by 3/16 flat bar bent into a U shape.

Birnie Long usually organizes a 7s fest in Texas. He did not this year because of the dragon. I heard he is working on some kind of gathering but dont know when yet. I will try and find out. If not I will see if I can head up a group for a get together.

USA7s.com event at the Tail of the Dragon ...

Yeah he can get a little crazy. He said he couldnt compete with the guys with slicks so he was going to just have a little fun. I am sure he stayed sideways most of the time. He said he drove the SR27 for a while and he really loved it. He said it was tight and no rattles or squeaks. Of course the old Ultralite use to be a little tighter but we have put about 12k pretty rough miles on her. Anyway he really liked its build quality. -

I talked to Kevin last night and he said he and Michelle really had a great time. He couldn't say enought about how nice everyone was. He said the quality of the cars was amazing. The blats were a blast except for the hail and thunderstorm. It appears Kevin gave a few crotch rockets a run for the money on the way to deals gap. They were riding a couple of Aprilla bikes they all pulled into deals gap and they jumped of there bikes and came to see what had been on there butts the last 9 miles. They were amazed that a car could hang with them. They said they were doing all they could to pull away and couldn't. Kevin said he had to hit the brakes hard in every corner to keep from running up on them. Hope everyone made it home safely and cant wait for the next event when ever it is. Loren -

catracer where did you see pics? -
I would worry more about the tarp wearing the paint as if flaps more than I would worry about it getting wet. I have seen tarps like that wear to bare metal in very little time.
