  1. Wow! Thanks for posting the pics and videos. I'm sorry I couldn't make it this year but it's on my calendar for 2018.
  2. I'm looking for a new set of tires for my '88 Caterham. It's a sunny day street car so I don't need anything too crazy. It's currently wearing 185/60R14s and the selection I've been able to find is not great in that size. Tirerack has the Dunlop Direzza zii star spec in that size and if I go to a 195 width I could get the Falken Azenis. Does anyone have a strong opinion about either of these choices? Is there somewhere else I should be looking? The Falkens are priced really nicely at that size so I'm sort of tempted to go that way but I'll happily spend more if someone can suggest something better.
  3. +1 I couldn't attend this year due to my car being in the shop but I've already told my wife I'm going in '18.
  4. If you go to Blipshift's website you and give them your email address and they'll let you know if they make it again.
  5. lol i also have a '69 cooper s so i had to get today's shirt as well
  6. I have to admit that I'm a sucker for blipshift. I'm not cool enough to wear the shirts but I pick one up for my kids from time to time. did order one of these.
  7. Finding out that your car is a fake is no fun at all. I've also thought about joining the UK 7 club. They seem to have a fair amount of information available for members. $75 is pretty steep though.
  8. Does anyone know if Caterham keeps any sort of records for the cars it sells? I've got an '87 and I'm curious about how it was speced when it was ordered. Is it worth getting in touch with them or is 30 years too long for them to have kept anything?
  9. I'm not usually a big fan of Harbor Freight stuff but I do have one of their 13 drawer roller cabinets (SKU. 68784) and one of their 9 drawer top chests (SKU. 68787). I looked at a bunch of different things before I got them and in my opinion to get something much better you'd have to spend a lot more money. I've head them for about three years now and haven't had any problems at all. Probably the only product I'd recommend from Harbor Freight. I would suggest going to a store to look at stuff before you buy it, some of their smaller tool chests are not so great.
  10. My Cat came to me with a rather robust scatter shield. I was honestly thinking of getting rid of it as I have no intention of tracking the car, or really wringing it out for that matter. Now I'm thinking maybe it can stay. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
  11. thanks all. car definitely needs some tlc but i'm very happy. this is my first 7 so i'm sure the stupid questions will begin any day now.
  12. Just got my hands on a '87 (or'88 depending on how you look at it) Caterham. I grew up in the passenger seat of my dad's '62 super 7 so it was a given that I'd get one at some point. One of his friends got this car in the late eighties and I've wanted it ever since. It recently became available and I couldn't pass it up. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g57/mikestifel/cat_3quarter_zpsddtjzryi.jpg The good (or bad depending on you point of view) part: http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g57/mikestifel/thegoods_zpsryrj9cee.jpg Car has the 1700 Cosworth BDR motor, 5 speed gearbox, De Dion rear end and rear sway bar. It's everything I expected it to be and more.
  13. Anyone know where I can get a cover that will fit a late 80s Caterham with clamshells?
  14. Were any BDR powered Caterham 7s ever imported into the US? Any brought over privately? Just curious.
