  1. lots of people looking for seats. maybe it's time to look into a group buy of something like that.
  2. I keep my tonneau cover in the car and I put it on if I'm going to be away for any length of time. It won't deter a dedicated miscreant, but it keeps random strangers from trying it on for size. speaking to the motorcycle/7 thing I almost never have issues with people behaving inappropriately with my motorcycles but everyone seems to think it's ok to sit in the 7.
  3. I can't say that's the direction I would have gone with a basket case Europa, but speaking as someone who makes stuff I have to respect the vision and skill. It's easy to start a project, but pretty hard to finish one off. It's... distinctive... hopefully someone will fall in love with it.
  4. If anyone here buys that Roadsport and doesn't want the extra seats PM me.
  5. all of this is way outside my area of expertise but iirc back in the 80s turbo era of F1 they were running basically pure toluene for qualifying so they could get the boost way up without detonation.
  6. probably some good info on the british 7 club site. there's also a youtube guy who talks a lot about tuning them.
  7. iirc they've been using swashplate engines in naval torpedoes for quite a while but the opposed piston thing is a pretty cool twist. i don't think they throttle well but maybe a good power plant as half of a hybrid system.
  8. not really on topic, but that's the least expensive thing i've ever seen from aircraft spruce.
  9. Those actually look pretty workable. Who is the crossbar attached to the roll hoop? Looks like it's welded on.
  10. Is that a Velosolex I spy?
  11. When the previous owner of my car first got his hands on it back in the late 80s it would run very hot in any kind of traffic. The answer was to turn on the heater full blast. I got to experience that a few times when I got to go for rides, it was less than pleasant. He built a shroud for the radiator and it was never a problem after that.
  12. Definitely interested. Toronto isn't all that far away so we might be able to work something out.
  13. I'm looking for a pair of seats with headrests to fit a 1987 long cockpit Caterham S3. I'm not terribly picky and I know a good upholsterer so I can work with things that aren't in tippy top condition.
  14. It's got the 80's adjustable seats with no head rests. Street roll bar. If you want to see anything specific let me know. I'd actually be willing to consider newer seats if there are any reasonable options.
  15. My car has the adjustable seats and 4 point belts. As I've gotten the car back on the road I've been thinking that 4 point belts are already not optimal but without headrests are probably dangerous. Does anyone make a reasonable read rest that mounts to the roll bar? I guess I could get some new seats but the prices are a bit intimidating. Any one else deal with this?
  16. that brings back memories. one of the better things i did to my mini.
  17. This. People can get too caught up in the numbers and end up with a car or bike that's just no fun to drive. Years ago I had a '67 Cooper S that made great numbers on the dyno but was miserable to drive. I ditched the weber downdraft and put some SUs on it, it made less peak power but the area under the curve was worlds better. Made it just lovely to zip around in.
  18. My tiny oil cooler mounts behind the radiator.
  19. I really meant to do a drain plug when I had my motor out but it didn't get added to the list and ended up not getting done. Oh well, next time I guess.
  20. This is an important thing to keep in mind. Ask me how I know...
  21. There's also some good T9 info in the downloads section.
  22. the black connector looks like a connector I've encountered for a Bosch knock sensor. Don't know much about Sigmas though.
  23. truly a beautiful day in SE PA. I couldn't 7 but I did do the British bike thing this morning.
  24. Yeah, that makes perfect sense. I have adjustable seats and with them back it's quite a reach to the steering wheel. I can scootch forward though.
