  1. My steel tank, 1982 S-3, was a mess. The SoCal dealer ordered me a new aluminum tank and did not charge me shipping as they had it put in container with a larger order.
  2. My experience is that Use Tax is collected for purchases where you don't pay sales tax, for instance an out of state purchase. There are ways around it but they involve taking delivery out of state and not bringing it into the state for a specific period of time.
  3. I did that with a large propeller. If you put a little dish detergent in the water the sandpaper will clog up less. After the 2000 grit I used Simichrome polish. It took a while. It may be quicker to use the various grades of Nuvite polish. I used corn starch to wipe off the black stuff from the polish, which makes a different mess. Some use paint thinner for this.

  10. The Smiths doesn't do anything but speed, trip meter, and total miles. Maybe should have done the Speedhut. I put the antenna in the nose because it is kind of ugly. The signal has no trouble coming through the fiberglass and the length of the cable didn't matter.
  11. I bought a Smiths GPS speedo after I neglected to hook up the cable to the transmission. It was far less trouble than pulling the engine again just to hook it up. It matches the original gauges and actually works.
  12. Do a search for a Lucas 516. Moss Motors may have them in their Morris Minor section. tom
  13. I've had the PC680 in my car for a few years and it works just fine.
  14. Rosen makes great visors for aircraft, boats, and trucks. They have a small visor for a Mini or similar cars. The mount for the Mini visor wouldn't work for a Seven but I wonder if they would cobble something up for such a small market. https://www.rosenvisor.com/ tom
  15. Anyone else heading to Laguna Seca this weekend for the Rolex Reunion? tom

  18. It has been a while, but I think I went with the R4D based on their description that it was good for track and street. They have worked just fine for track days and street driving. tom

  20. My wife would look at it and say, "It has doors!"
  21. I don't want to take mine out of the car to loan you, but can send photos if that will help. I seem to recall that it is Triumph Herald or Spitfire, as mentioned above. You might try Chris at Sevens and Elans. He is an incredible resource. http://www.sevenselans.com/about.htm tom
