  1. Mazda: It's obvious that you car is of american heritage. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1081089909_Old Yeller II.jpg This picture proves it, american v8, side pipes, etc. The builder of this famous car ( Max Ernest Balchowsky) was born in West Virginia. That is the strong creative force that is pulling you there. Check out the link for this side of the story. http://oldyeller2.com/index.html
  2. Both data loggers that I need to get information from need to to be monitered by running a windows based program. The laptop would just be a small cpu to run those programs. You can data log for longer periods of time when they are connected to a cpu with more memory. The display would just give me the ability to see the information in bright daylight. After I become comfromtable with the car I would not need to leave the equipment in the seven. I need to check on the resolution. Do you think that a buck seventy five is fair? Thanks!
  3. Mazda: I'm having a problem with the 3 major data loggers that I have on the seven. The only screen that I find useful while driving is the display in the steering wheel. That is because the wideband is too small, and the engine managment doesn't have a display. You know that I lust over the display that your using. I do think that it's a little ostentatious at night, but it sure does communicate information. Is there a way to use 2 com ports and use it as a display for an older Vaio that needs a new screen. You said that you could find 1 on Ebay for a dead president. What model is it?
  4. The Caparo T1 weighs 1210 lbs and has 580 hp, which is 2 lbs per hp or 1000 hp per ton. A power-to-weight ratio double the Bugatti Veyron’s, and so much downforce you will be able to drive it upside down in a tunnel at 150mph. Check out their website or watch a video clip on Ytube. You could be driving it tomorrow for just a quarter million.
  5. It's called a Indycycle. Just type in that keyword in Google and you can go to the website. He does sell plans, but no kits. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1876880017_ground2.jpg
  6. I think that I have too much invested in it to sell. I still want to build one of these. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/269767102_rt_front.jpg
  7. If your going to press me like this let's both be honest. I my mind I was Bruce McLaren and you were Denny Hume. We were driving in the 29th Australian Grand Prix. We were on the final lap and now you can finish your part of the story.:leaving:
  8. I think that it was Thursday night that I woke up and made a post @ about 2:30 AM. Your replay came back in just a few minutes. Did you know that if you don't get enough sleep you'll become forgetful?
  9. At the TOTG one night going from the Fontana Lodge back to Meet I couldn't loose the tail lights in my rear mirror. Is that when it blew?:bigears:
  10. Not to be hard on you, but have you ever heard of heat shrink? I think that rear fender clearence between the tire and fender is almost always close.
  11. We stopped by a Jack-in-the-Box and filled 4 coolers up. Now my freezer is full of tacos.
  12. If my front suspension is rebuilt in time and I recieve my tags I can go.
  13. The TPS graph just shows the 1st to 2nd gear shift. The car has 4 systems that data log. The one that I displayed is the Zietronics wide band. The log represents about 60% throttle in both gears. The Digi Dash log was not displayed. That would show mph. The peak RPM in 1st and 2nd gear was 8500. Although I love the ride, no one should be impressed by the 0-60 time. If the 0-60 was on street tires that would be different. There are no tags on the car yet so that the only place that I have driven it is in the parking lot. I am not comfortable with my boost control system yet. I do not want to drive it on the street until I am. It would be too dangerous. The Borg Warner S200 Turbo dyno sheet shows that @30 lbs of boost you develop 550-600 hp. My 2nd gear blast probaly developed about 485 rear wheel hp. That figure is not impressive for the engine build either. SR20DETs can be street driven easily @ over 600 hp. I think that in the future we will see street driven Sevens with over 800 hp. A dyno friend of mine has scheduled an appointment for an Ultima with a 1800 hp twin turbo small block. That combination weighs less than 2000 lbs, has good aero, and will be be "very impressive".
  14. Just thought that I would post a snap shot from the data logger. Look at the TPS sensor and the relationship of time between the duration 1st and second gear. One of the challenges with a car with a big turbo is that you do not load the turbo in 1st gear, so that when you shift to second you have an explosion of boost. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/9387523_2nd gear.jpg The figures @ the end are not accurate. I'm not having any problem with traction @ this time. The car hooks up very quick. I have a type of drag radial on the car @ this time. When the boost comes on @ the rate that it does "what a rush"
  15. A Busa motor is setting in my garage on the other side of the river from you.
  16. Kevin: 400 metros al sur de la licorera bruja Escazu, Costa Rica And I'll buy you dinner next February!
  17. Kevin: It was great spending the day with you and Michelle. When you get down to it it's about people. Dino and all everybody from Deman were committed. I enjoyed your out of the box thinking the most. Michelle worked hard all day doing her thing to support the effort empirically. Still want to meet Loren. Off for a 2 week vacation. P.S. Down to 2.7 seconds 0-60 @ 26 psi.
  18. You’re going to find it difficult to measure pressure difference. The figure that you’re looking for is a delta/p of 25 Pascal’s
  19. Let's see. Dino called today about over heating. Called Griffin Radiators today for Dino's problem and the fact that I think that I will have the same problem. If we solve his problem it will probaly help solve mine. I got to know Kevin and Michelle on Friday. Kevin talks of a guy known as Loren that I want to meet. The World is not that big! PS. Today I was doing 2nd gear burnouts @ 10psi. It's fun to drive sideways. I'm try to get the 7 ready for a week at the beach starting Sunday.
  20. Visualize this. I’m driving a F50 and I stop at a light. A driver in the opposite lane can’t take his eyes off of me and runs into the car in front of him. I’m included in the law suit because of excessive exposure.
  21. One of the problems with putting a busa engine in a 7 is the there is a 1.5/1 reduction gear between the engine and trans.
  22. On the suction side of the pump you are limited by vacuum. You only have so much vacuum, but on the pressure side you can size the pump to what ever you need. Almost all production cars now have the pump in the tank to eliminate the problem. On higher power installations measure the return flow of your system as the fuel returns to the tank. Do not under size your return line size. It needs to be the same size as your pressure side as the system doesn't use much fuel at idle. If the return line size is too small you will have excessive pressure problem at idle. This will result in either poor idle or not enough pressure under full power.
  23. Today I ran the engine for about 2 hours to kind of break it in and to check most of the systems. Then I did a quick alignment check and overall visual inspection. After everything checked out it was down the ramp and around the parking lot. I just wish that this could have happoned about 3 weeks ago so that I could have driven "The Dragon" with you guys.
