  1. I'm sorry but, I have to agree with Silk .... all 3 are butt ugly. Silk..... your best looking and driving car is your 7.
  2. We've done a number of S420's. The mount flexes, the seams crack, moisture gets in, and the rust starts. Most of the time there is no rust on other parts of the Merc. We reinforce the mount, then seal, paint. You can actually take your hand and flex the mount before we stiffen it up.
  3. Maz don't feel bad, the first passenger in a 7 was 7evin and one his seat belts wasn't bolted in.
  4. Russ: It's called a Buge. A neighborhood EV, but I'm lowering it 4", adding 50% more batteries, building my own frame/suspension, installing a 60kw DC motor, with a 0-60 of less than 5 seconds, and a top speed of 90 mph. If you told Mark Murphy (Bugev.net owner) that you were going to install an ICE he would never sell you one. Remember 1Sky/Symmetrical pay, etc. If you do put a bike engine in it can I drive it? Hee Hee
  5. Mazda: I'm going to let the cat out of the bag!!!!!!!!! Mazda likes to give rides with the passenger's seat unbolted.
  6. You still have a chance to bid on the world's fastest car! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=400036942961&sspagename=STRK%3AMESC%3AIT&viewitem
  7. Martin: I may not be the man that you think that I am. It's the waiting room of my shop. If I tried that at home I wouldn't have the happy wife that I have had for the past 25 years.
  8. This picture is from the driver's side that had not failed yet. Most of the square tubing used in a 7 is 16 gauge, this spring perch is 19 gauge. 7evin and I have experienced failures in the 16 gauge tubing in a 7.
  9. Here is a better picture and a picture of my current project, an Electric Car.
  10. Here are a couple of pictures of the front suspension of a 1999 Mercedes S420 front upper spring perch that are prone to failure. This Mercedes was towed to us as the coil spring popped out and was missing. We measured the thickness of the new part and the thickness is 1 mm! Am I missing something here? The static load on the part has to be over 1200 pounds.
  11. If you make sure that the car is planted before you apply full boost there is not much wheel spin in 2nd and up. If you shift hard or are not on good pavement it's very easy to blowout the tires. Just because you run a lot of boost doesn't mean that you can use all of it at anytime. People always talk about turbo lag, but I find that if you're not satisfied with the rate of acceleration just shift to a lower gear.
  12. http://www.h1v8.com/page/page/4585068.htm Effectively two Hyabusa motorcycle engines, with a common crank and billet "block", with four wheel drive.
  13. I've never had it on a dyno. The onboard data logging numbers reflect something north of 500.
  14. Actually it's for data logging. It's better than having a laptop in the driver's seat.
  15. I always roll 7777
  16. Above 3500 you just yank the shifter every second or so. Mazda has more hp, he just won't admit it.
  17. Paul: You need a bigger inducer. 59mm @ 24 lbs.
  18. Put it in the steering wheel!
  19. If you have never ridden in a 7 you're in for a surprise. Acceleration in the 1st 3 gears is brutal. The real difference is in the connection with the environment. It's more like riding a superbike. Mazda can probably connect you with a local 7 owner for a ride.
  20. Your still in puberty Jerry.
  21. Ttt
  22. Link to Redbull video! http://www.redbullracing.com/4th-Sector/Webber--Vettel-Rip-Through-The-Rule-Book/
  23. Dave: This is why my SR20DET powered 7 has a stock crank and transmission and is able live while being stressed by a larger turbo that produces over 500 hp. A Honda owner would never buy an American car. :o
  24. 1 for the LOG. I had not decided on Branson. It rained for the entire week last year, and the wife did not want to go back. Birmingham is a 1 day drive. I am not intrested in a $100.00 meal. :jester:
  25. We found out that Sal lives 4 miles from Dave. We're going to meet at Dave's house next Saturday. You live at a higher elevation than I do. Made it up to 32 today.
