  2. 7evin: My tow bar failure looks like this. It's not the weld, but that the material that it attaches to that is not strong enough. You got it Bullet!
  3. Sal: Now I have another local 7 driver to go on blats with. I'll balance your tires tomorrow. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/2137811689_smile10.gif
  4. Maz: You scare me almost as much as myself. My crank sensor failures have been self induced. The mounting bracket vibrates above 7000 rpm and the touthed wheel becomes a saw. I'm running on 7 lbs and don't know what I would do with 30 lbs. It's nice to hear your monster run. I'm looking forward to a blat with you. Take your time with the aluminum as it will really show.
  5. I,m back home from Branson. I'll start by saying that I spent about 4 hours driving in the Ozarks. It rained almost every day that I wasn't in a business meeting. Sharon and Josh are alergic to mold so that they had an above 100 deg fever every day that we were there. They both returned to normal during the drive home. That didn't prevent us from having a good family vacation. I did a number of drives around Big Cedar Lodge. The mountians are different from "The Tail", but are very enjoyable. Maz: kinda like west by god. I do have a few pictures that I will post in the following days. The level of the lake was over 15' above normal (La Nina) effect. Never flat tow a 7 in the mountians with a Volvo X Country. I left the 7 in Nashville and am leaving to pick it up in the morning.
  6. I have a few priorities that must be met, which helped me narrow down the kits available considerably. A good suspension system (pretty much narrows the choice down to Westfields w/ the independent rear suspension) Let's see, The Stalker has a solid rear and seems to win most of the events?
  7. It's still misting, but here is a picture of a very small portion of the lake. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1853357747_Table Rock Lake 1.jpg

  9. Today starts my third day in Branson, and the third day with rain. I went for a drive yesterday afternoon. This area is gorgeous and offers more things to do than time allows. We spent "Fat Tuesday" in an Irish Pub listening to Cajun music drinking German wine. Yesterday we went to the Thorn Chapel http://www.thorncrown.com/ in Eurika Springs. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1401859520_gallery1-5_fs.jpg Tomorrow should start 3 days of sunshine. I will post some pictures as time allows. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/2046509336_smile77.jpg
  10. Hal: I would, but I will be Branson MS until June the 3rd. If it's not fixed by then I will come by. :ack:
  11. Al: Just because you do not currently have 7 does not mean that you cannot attend events! :7frog:
  12. Hal: The first wire that I would disconnect is the wire to the ECU. Then connect a test light in line with the battery positive. If the test light glows you have a drain. If not you have found the problem. The second procedure would be to disconnect the alt from the system. Does the test light still glow? If it does you still have a drain. If this is true start pulling fuses till the light goes out. If you connected an amp meter between the positive cable and the bat + you should see less than 50 mili amp. Most multi meters will allow up to 10 amps thru them. Do not turn anything on or you will probally blow the fuse in the meter. :7head: :7head:
  13. This is a 53 mile blat that I thing would be convenient to Branson. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1719023316_Blat1.JPG Does anyone have a better Blat?
  14. My seven is running, I painted the rear fenders tonight and ......................................... on Friday I'm going to tow it to Big Cedar Lodge in the Ozarks for a week’s driving on the twistes! I'll post pictures and give a trip report. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1296748223_willy_nilly.gif
  15. I did a little research today and I found the following. Most newer Ford alts use 3 wires. 1 wire is to monitor the stator ripple voltage. The second wire turn the alt light on or off in the dash. The third wire is from the body control module to the exciter wire to the alt. You might say that the system has 2 voltage regulators. At certain times the body control module will decide to charge or not to charge the system. The alt will work just powering the exciter terminal thru the ign s/w. Hopes this helps! :7fume:
  16. They have spent quite a bit of effort on the new crank sensor. The sensor that I used was 6 years old. When I talk about druability they respond with the fact that they have the most used system on winning cars in the Baha Race.
  17. Maz: I went to Electromotive today and picked up a sensor. I installed it this afternoon, and the 7 runs fine. While I was at their shop a GM engineer called and asked about the shipping date for the prototype unit that they are going use on a 16 cyl engine. It's 2 of the units that I have. :banghead:
  18. Loren: It looks real neat with the top on. :7fume:
  19. Maz: The current Motec uses 1 processor from Motorola that is from 1991. The Electromotive uses a processor that runs at twice the speed. It also uses 3 processors that run at 3 different clock speeds. 1 for ignition, 1 for injection, 1 as a main processor. Ducking for cover. bob http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/340252416_smile13.gif
  20. When the guys talk about price you should tell them that we both have over $35,000.00 just in materials! :banghead:
  21. Hal said the the B+ wire from the alt goes to the starter which seems correct. I would check for power at the alt exciter terminal, which if prestant with the s/w off would drain the battery. If I were provided with a year and model Focus I could post a diagram. :7head:
  22. They are Meyers snow plow lights. I think that there were 4 cars on Friday. Gary "Bullet" and I went to dinner together. He has more interesting car and airplane stories than time would allow. Robert/Mary have the brightest yellow 7 that I have ever seen. Seeing all of the 7s together was great, but it was the reunion of friends that I enjoyed the most. Hal still needs some help with his charging system. Can anyone post a diagram of a Ztec charging system? Maz says that we could meet at his place for breakfast sometime in June. :7head:
  23. The local weather says the sun will shine till late afternoon. Get up early! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
  24. Lets see, I spent all day last Saturday cleaning my seven for a show on Sunday. In about an hour I'm going to drive it in the rain. We are a different breed! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/2080995485_051708777.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1697867415_willy_nilly.gif
