I just got permission to leave northern virginia by 2:00 pm. Depending on traffic I could be there by dinner Saturday.

Let's see Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 the first graduation ceremony, and then another from 2:00 to 4:00, and then the reception on Friday night. For Saturday another diploma @ 12:00 followed by a dinner. If all goes well I leave for Carlisle sometime later that night. Is there anyone up for a midnight drive?

I’m going to bet that it’s a calibration resister for the wideband O2

Are these 7s related to Del Long? -
It is amazing how, all I believe, can be summed up in one unique article how I feel but do not know intellectually how to express in words. If your mind is glued shut, don't even bother to click the link. This IS what we and our next generations have to look forward to. http://www.hillsdale.edu/news/imprimis/archive/issue.asp?year=2009&month=04

In 1995 I mailed a check to Evertt Hatch as a deposit for 1 of his engines. That never came to fruition. Evertt and I had many conversations for about 2 years, and you know the rest of the story.

Jon: You have done much work since I saw your pictures last Spring. Where do you get all of the energy?

You have joined an elite group of men that built their own car. Welcome to that group!

I subscribe to a Yahoo group that did a direct purchase of about $30,000.00 worth of Lifo4 cells with a BMS. From the feedback that I read I would be very careful. A 7.5 kw system for a Buge would cost $7000.00. I have purchased (6) Optima blue tops that give a total of about 5kw. The Buge should have a range of about 40 miles @ 55 mph.
-
Mike: I purchased a RV4 kit in 1994 and did about 200 hours of work on it, and then sold the kit. I agree that the Buge is a crude vehicle. That's why I only purchased the body and canopy for $2500.00. I can build a frame/suspension from scratch, but I don't want to get too involved in the fiberglass. Stock, the body is at about a 45deg angle. I,m lowering the seat to allow the canopy to be at about 10deg. The DC motor that I purchased is 50 hp, and that's a lot of electric motor.

GM plans 26 hybrids by '14 — if it can get parts DETROIT — In General Motors' viability plan given to the Treasury Department, company executives pledge to boost the number of gasoline- electric hybrids in GM's lineup to 26 models by 2014, from eight today. The technology will be ready. But GM may be unable to deliver the goods, mainly because of potential parts shortages, said GM's top powertrain executive. "When we put our viability plan together, we had to use the assumptions we have today on the components that are available," Tom Stephens, GM executive vice president of global powertrain and global quality, told Automotive News. "There are a lot of ifs, ands and buts associated with that. We will have all of this developed, but depending on component availability, we may do one thing or the other." On April 1, Stephens will take over global product development from Vice Chairman Bob Lutz, who will become a senior adviser until retiring Dec. 31. Stephens wouldn't say which components could be in short supply. But lithium ion batteries could be hard to get because of supply constraints. GM also doesn't make electric motors, but might need to if the Chevrolet Volt, production version of the Cadillac Converj concept and their variants sell well. One vehicle — the Saturn Vue Two Mode hybrid — already has been delayed because of a component shortage. That vehicle was supposed to have been launched by now but has been pushed back to June, Stephens said. He refused to say what parts are unavailable. GM plans three hybrid powertrains: a simple belt-alternator starter system such as the one on today's Saturn Vue and Chevrolet Malibu; and two versions of the Two Mode system, one for rear-drive trucks and one for front-drive vehicles. The fwd Two Mode will have a plug-in feature designed to enable more distance on electric power only. GM considers the Chevrolet Volt an electric vehicle, not a hybrid. This year GM has broadened its hybrid offerings by rolling out Two Mode versions of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups. Stephens said nearly all of GM's product plans are in flux as the company overhauls its operations to cope with lower sales. Said Stephens: "Right now there are so many things changing. Product programs change by the week. Things haven't really settled down yet. We don't really know where the market is going."

Part II I'm now actively involved in local groups like EVADC (electric vehicle DC) HACDC (brilliant minds that build robots for warring competitions, etc). If you think that it would be of interest I am willing to bring what I have completed to Carlisle. I do not have a memory of a high performance electric car being there.

John: The short answer is no, However.......... For me it's the experience that's most important. I think that the mainstream is beginning to understand that fossil fuels are not going to be used for daily commuter transportation forever. Anytime that electricity has competed with another source of power it has eventually won (we heat iron ore with it to make steel). If you had a 6 mile commute to work and could use back roads, can you in vision a 3 wheeled vehicle that had loaded weighed 600 lbs, and had 150 ft pounds of torque, and cost 12 cents a day for that commute experience? Think of it as a super bike with a partial enclosure. In Northern Virginia it could be used about 9 months of the year. I do not subscribe to the man made global warming effect; however I think that all of us could benefit from watching http://WWW.storyofstuff.com . Like MoPho I don't know what work is! I'm blessed with the ability to support myself by doing what I love. As the owner of a repair shop I do shoulder the responsibility of charting the course of a business. I like the statement “what are we going to work on when the tail pipes are gone?"

When you enjoy your job you never have to work. When was the last time that you worked MoPho?

Although it's "great" to have the desire to win, its just much better to "prepare" to win Thanks DB
