  1. I was reluctant to state a price, because I did not want to interfere with another owner's sale, but the for sale ad which I had placed was public knowledge. These price issues are better served by a PM.
  2. Here is a link to my for sale ad. I got a little less than my asking price. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?11561-For-Sale-Ultralite-S2k-also-a-7X14-enclosed-trailer
  3. I owned an Ultralite, and I loved it. The performance is awesome, the reliability is solid. The is a "manual" available from ( I forgot the name) here on the USA7s website. The owner of the company is WestTexasS2k here on this forum, and he can supply parts. Steering rack is MGB, spindles are Fiero or Mustang II, diff and rear end is Subaru, brakes are Willwood, drivetrain Honda. I had the "brooklands" style wind screen on mine, and I made new ones about 1 1/2 " higher, and they work great. Drive it, you will love it.
  4. Here is a video of a new type of wire splice. It allows you to solder two wires together with a heat gun.
  5. Mel; I hope all is still going well with the Ultralite. Getting to be that time of year when you can drive it without freezing to death. Check with those reference I gave you regarding autocrossing, and drop those tires down to about 13-14 psi. Jerry
  6. After having epoxy failures on an older garage floor, I went with plastic tiles on my new house15 years ago. They are similar to RaceDeck, but a different brand which I have lost track of. They have lots of holes for the water to drain through, then it runs out the garage door due to the slope of the floor. To clean the tile, I spray water over the whole floor, then mop with a soap mixture ( Simple Green) they flush off with the hose, and squeegee it dry. You can also use a floor sander type scrubber. I rented one at Home Depot once to do it. The floor scrubber will take the shiny finish off the tiles which allows them to show more dirt, so I do not recommend it. Yes, I put a 1/4 sheet of plywood under the jack or jackstands when lifting a regular car, or my Tahoe (7000 lbs), nothing when working on the Seven. here are some pics.
  7. Time scale is extremely important. Many years ago, the river that cut the Grand Canyon was just a creek running along the surface. It's a mile deep now. Judging/predicting weather based on your own lifespan is foolish.
  8. No reason not to wear as a badge of honor. Political differences should not effect personal relationships. I'm a conservative, but several of my kids are totally liberal, yet I love them. They are definitely not snowflakes. Now back to the Irish jokes; "Is that the Ballycashel Echo?" asks Mick. "How much would it be to put an ad in your paper?" "Five pounds an inch," a woman replies. "Why? What are you selling?" "A ten-foot ladder," said Mick before slamming the phone down
  9. I am loving the global warming, without it, here in the Midwest, we would still be under the glaciers.
  10. With TIG, the weld/braze is right at the heat point, with gas, you can heat the entire joint and flow the braze like solder on a pipe joint.

  12. Last year my wife and I took a trip to New England to see the colors, it was this same time a year ago, and the color was great. We stayed in Great Barrington on they way to Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Took all the two lane roads. Didn't take the Seven, but the trip was wonderful anyway. Great scenery!
  13. Sorry, I wired the headlights directly to a HI/LO switch on the dash, didn't use the harness.
  14. No, there is nothing like a Seven. I have already started cleaning out the garage where the Seven used to reside, wow, I really accumulated a lot of trash. I bought one of those wire shelf racks on wheels at Sam's Club today, the stuff I am retaining in the garage will go onto the shelves. I have lots of those shelves in my basement and two in my garage. Great to store stuff, and you can roll them around, I will be doing that when I scrub my garage floor plastic tiles.
  15. Thank you, Tom. The yellow is very visible, and I assumed it would prevent people from hitting me. How yellow is it? It is 2004 Mustang "Screaming Yellow" so it should be loud enough for people to hear it.
  16. I sold the Ultralite on 8/29/2017. The trailer went with it. I told the new owner to get on this website, because it is THE defining place for Sevens in the USA. I have found a lot of friends in the Sevens community, and I appreciate all the help I have been given. I really enjoyed my years with my Ultralite, and will miss it, particularly the insanity of full throttle acceleration, as well as the incredible road holding ability of a Seven. I'll have to remember that my Corvette can't take the turns like a Seven when I am cruising some twisty roads. So, to all of you that post on this forum, I thank you very much, it has been a pleasure. I won't disappear, but will continue to monitor the website because you guys need some supervision.
  17. Be careful disconnecting the wires, so you don't let the smoke come out.( in the spirit of Lucas)
  18. Tell him I have one for sale; http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?11561-For-Sale-Ultralite-S2k-also-a-7X14-enclosed-trailer
  19. The Ultralite has 18" and 16" seats ( width) Lots more room.
  20. A great time was had by all. We didn't get all the cars in the overhead pic.
  21. I don't have any updates, because my Ultralite never breaks. ( I guess I'll have to drive it more, or harder) I would appreciate a copy of the updated manual when you are finished. geddens at charter.net
  22. Dave; Follow this thread to get a handle on the pricing. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?9372-Ebay-and-Craigslist-ads-Lots-of-Sevens-for-sale/page65
  23. Jack; Thank you for the kind words. I had it out a few days ago, almost sorry I have decided to sell it. I like your new ride. No cone scuffs on the wings, you must be very proficient at autocross. Jerry
  24. OK, you will have to move to St. Louis, but you can use my tools. :smilielol5:
