  1. When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night he checks his closet for Chuck Norris.
  2. Must depend on size or if new ones are just brighter... but they show up great on my car and I put some on my 67 pickup and their brighter than the original bulbs.
  3. what do you guys think of this... seems it's been around awhile and hasn't caught on yet http://www.disappearing-car-door.com/
  4. I have to agree that the 2nd set with silver striping would look great.
  5. I tried to get "Bollocks" for a license plate but I guess the DMV knows that means testicles or BS across the pond.... them wankers;)
  6. Howdy Great looking car! I like this site because we go by the old adage " if you can't say something nice about another's car don't say anything". Of course we can beat up our own cars and our own lack of driving skills, mechanical ability etc;)

    New Lotus Evora

Hey! I had a Europa, it was a blast..... except for the electrical, renault motor, electrical, fit/finish, electrical..... did I mention it had electrical problems? I rewired the whole car with a hot rod electrical package.
  8. Here's a couple neat things I find while looking in a catalog (you might of seen before): If you have Halogen H4 bulbs this little LED mounts to the bulb eliminating seperate turn signals (kind of pricey to convert to Halogen though) http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Turn-Signal-Indicator-for-H-4-Bulbs,2376.html Electronic turn signal buttons (don't have to worry about staying on); push one second-blinks 7.. 2 seconds -flashes 20 seconds.. hold down 4 seconds and stays on 75 seconds. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Hi-Tech-Turn-Signal-Module-Standard,2366.html
  9. Of course I have a bit of bias but most here agree that they all give you the 7 experience. About the S2K, I doubt you'll find one any nicer than Chad's. Especially if you want to track it (and show it off!). Our cars look (and are) bigger, especially side by side. But by themselves their absolutely tiny compared to anything else on the road. The engine is slightly offset to the passenger's side. Besides being about 4 inches wider than a normal 7, this allows a wide drivers seat while you'll have to be less than a 36 inch waist to fit comfortably in the passenger side. I think the whole drivers side compartment area is bigger than most, including the pedal box. The size of the car may be due to fitting the honda s2000 motor/trans... it's a fairly large/tall motor. I actually like the look better as the hood doesn't look so long and flat, plus the headlights are smaller and lower. Just a bit more modern looking to me. Most of it will come down to emotion... which one gets the pulse to beat a little higher than the others. You do need to sit in them if at all possible. Here's my favorite pic (with the fastest S2K in the nation in the backround).

  12. I think any 7 can be insured.... once it's registered. You can always be patient and see if one comes up in your state to avoid hassle. Or if you can find someone in you area that has gone thru it that will be a big help. There have been some great cars up for sale lately at good prices. Personnaly, I think Stalkers & S2Ks are a little more hard core but parts/repairs are cheaper and easier to get. They're also a little bigger and that's relative. Caterhams and Birkins are the classics with more creature comforts (depending on what the owner wants) and hold their value; though more expensive up front. Westfields look good too, and not so expensive. These cars are really basic and you can pretty much make any of them fit your needs.
  13. Just a few mile drive to the gas station. I don't get that full force of air whipping around hitting my left ear. No illusions... still breezy

    Pirate facts

FUN FACTS ABOUT PIRATES * Piracy started quite accidentally when one ship crew realized how fun it was to board another ship while yelling “Arr!” and laughing heartily. * Today’s pirates tend to have AK-47s instead of muskets which is considered cheating. Don’t let a Navy SEAL catch you cheating! * If you see a man with a long beard, it could be the fearsome Blackbeard the pirate! If the beard is somewhat light colored, he’s probably just a member of ZZ Top. Either way, use caution. * If people plunder you on the sea, that piracy. If people plunder you on land, that’s the Obama administration. * Many pirates settled in Canada where after years of peace and maple syrup, their “Arr!” faded into an “Eh”. * No matter how much a pirate says to do it, he’ll actually get angry if you shake his timbers. * Piracy is covered by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, meaning that, following an attack by pirates, the U.N. will debate the issue for months before passing a resolution demanding that pirates think about what they are doing, and that if the pirates keep being pirates, the U.N. will consider passing another resolution. * The United States has not ratified the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, meaning that if pirates capture a U.S. vessel, Navy SEALs can shoot the pirates in the head. * The pirate flag of skull and cross bones is called the “Jolly Roger” because whoever decided to name it was really gay. * The Marine Hymn lyrics “to the shores of Tripoli” refer to the U.S. response to the Barbary Pirates in the early 19th century. If the Somali pirates understood English, they’d have known not to screw around with the American military. * If surrounded by pirates, ask for “parlay”. That will give you time to escape while they look that up on Wikipedia. * If someone boards your land going vessel and steals it, that’s a carjacker, not a pirate. You can still run him through with a cutlass, though. * A pirate ship can be recognized by the bumper sticker: “Pirates get more booty” * If pirates take someone hostage, you’ll probably get the person back unharmed if you pay the ransom. You’ll also get the person back unharmed if you shoot all the pirates dead, plus that’s cheaper. * Pirates idea to bury their treasure ending up being quite a sound investment strategy this past year. * If you’re really worried about pirates, go to Taco Bell. I’ve never seen one there, and I like their chalupas. * The most famous historical pirates are Edward Teach (Blackbeard), Jean Lafitte, William Kidd, and Willie Stargell. * When fighting pirates, you may think the man with the big hat is the leader, but it’s actually the parrot on his shoulder. Take that bird out first! . * The plank is a result of pirates starting to build a second connected ship and then just getting too lazy. * Pirates are vulnerable to cutlasses, scurvy, and sniper-bullets to the head.
  15. I'm sure your right and I'm not expecting a lot... just enough to stop hitting me in the ear;) Your doors are pretty trick. Update: Drove to he gas station and got up to 80 a couple times. It does what I hoped... while of course not dead air, I don't get the air whipping around the side of the windshield and hitting me in the side of the head. I might not need earplugs for the wind noise anymore;)
  16. I don't know about the wind coming off the rear fenders but I was on a dirty road the other day and a ton of pebbles bounced into cab. Actually, the most bothersome is the wind coming around the side so I'm hopeful...
  17. Most Ultralites don't have a windscreen but I eventually want to put a top for shade on (and I have the weatherkit in storage). Had a couple issues... my screen is a couple inches higher than normal and the bracket holding the screen was mounted very low (where the bottom wind deflector bracket now is) causing it to flex. Plus the wind really whips around to the side of the face. Haven't taken it out yet (raining at the moment) but I should now be able to go over 75 and hopefully not get quite as buffeted.
  18. While working for the Fire Department, I was put in charge of making plans for an avian flu pandemic affecting the city... now that's some bad stuff! Yeah, that pic's just a joke in regards to all the hype

    Somalia trip

    like it...
  20. Now we know...
  21. Good luck, look forward to seeing it
  22. So was that done on a dyno (no wind resistance)? Are a few cars really that fast (85mph in 1 second & 125mph in 3)... seems impossible? I got to tell you, Kevin's supercharged S2K is the quickest thing I've ever been in... with the traction of slicks I thought his front wheels were going to come up;)
  23. Agreed on the use of a little levity... A male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose.. A pretty, young, student nurse appears to give him a partial sponge bath. "Nurse", he mumbles, from behind the mask. "Are my testicles black?" Embarrassed, the young nurse replies, "I don't know, Sir. I'm only here to wash your upper body and feet." He struggles to ask again, "Nurse, please check. Are my testicles black?" Concerned that he may elevate his blood pressure and heart rate from worry about his testicles, she over comes her embarrassment and pulls back the covers. She raises his gown, holds his manhood in one hand and his testicles in the other. Then, she takes a close look and says, "There's nothing wrong with them, Sir!" The man pulls off his oxygen mask, smiles at her and says very slowly: "Thank you very much. That was wonderful, but, listen very, very closely...... "A r e - m y - t e s t - r e s u l t s - b a c k ??"
  24. There are many valid points in that article. I guess it comes down to expectations of our society. We don't want to be a nanny state but we want some security. Seems, with this election, that most people felt government was taking advantage of the average Schmo to the benefit of big business. Right or wrong, the pendulum has swung to the left. Perhaps we can learn from the mistakes being made in Europe/Canada as we're the last to be addressing some of these issues. I hope people will soon see the political correctness of Global Warming and start getting objective facts instead of the hyperbol (the Galaxy doesn't revolve around us anymore than man creating an environmental apocolypse in the last 50 years - read Red Hot Lies). Lets put our efforts toward clean energy and self suffiency (all options) so we aren't dependent on the middle east. That alone is good enough reason for me. As far as healthcare, the latest from Obama is "affordable healthcare" not free universal care. Granted, it could be the first step down that road. I still think some type of open pension plan that is based on investment, not taxes, is the way to go... just have to keep the politicians hands out of the till (they tried to take ("borrow") some of California state workers pension money a couple of times and luckily failed - they said it was overfunded). I just fear we're heading for tough times due to the switch from managed pensions to individual 401ks.
  25. If middle class workers here are going to have to compete with 3rd world countries for pay/benefits than we're all screwed.... who's going to be able to afford anything? It's a downward spiral. We all can't be stockbrockers/financiers or executives. People in America who work with their back/hands need to be able to have a decent living. We can't taxcut our way out of a service based economy. It's a complicated problem and those complaining the loudest seem to have simplistic answers or none at all. What do we need to do to have a decent middle class whom can own a home, a car, pay college for their kids and retire at some point with enough money for 2 people to enjoy life a little? Personnaly, I think most individuals aren't smart enough or have the time to invest properly with 401Ks. Plus, when you can take money out to buy a home etc... it leads to problems. Someone should come up with a transferable pension system that large and small businesses can join (but not be responsible for). I recently saw something about a national retirement program proposal that would have employer/employee (it's all comes out of the same bucket really) contribute into. It would guarantee 3% over inflation per year (don't know how that would work). Social Security is a safety net and if you end up having to live off of that I feel sorry for you. Anyway, I think Wall Street has a lot more explaining to do than the UAW. Sorry if I sound like one of those commie, pinko, socialist... I'm really not. We'll always have lazy people and greedy ones, but the U.S. needs a strong middle class and not turn into (or should I say not go back to) a country of the few haves and the many have nots. No hard feelings to anyone who feels different... we on this board won't solve this. But we're lucky enough to have a car that allows us to go for a quick blat and forget all our troubles;)
