  1. Have you checked the "cars for sale" section? There's some nice cars there and you can get an idea of prices. I'm kind of partial to that nice S2K...
  2. No, not the 2009 Inaugeration.... but the ability to zoom in on a face from so far away http://gigapan.org/viewGigapanFullscreen.php?auth=033ef14483ee899496648c2b4b06233c
  3. Not so much due to the weather (benefit of California) but just getting everything sorted. Wildflowers are coming out too!
  4. It takes more than gooping up a sheet of aluminum and slapping it on due to the finned oil pan (see the pics of what it took) . In the foothills around here it's not unusual to have little rock slides and have rocks around the size of your fist, or bigger, in the roadway as you come around the bend. I wanted to deflect those too. I guess I could of cut the bottom of my oilpan out and bonded a plate that had a 45 degree angle in front of the oil pan.... seems more work than what I had done.
  5. That's the picture that convinced me to get one made.... they're sort of "Mad Max" built but makes for one less thing to worry about.
  6. Mine angle up at the rear to avoid that problem backing up as well.
  7. That's the way to do it!
  8. I was thinking about that as I have one of those petcock style drain plugs on one of my other cars.... maybe on the next oil change I'll try something. Thanks
  9. Group B was extreme! "... In the 1986 season Henri Toivonen lapped the Estoril circuit in a Lancia Delta S4 during the Portuguese rally. His fastest lap would have qualified him in the sixth position of the F1 Grand Prix that same season."
  10. After grinding my oil pan down once and seeing Kevin do the same at Buttonwillow I had a skid plate made up. Quarter inch aluminum plate.. only lost about 1/2in of clearance. I do have to undo 6 bolts to change the oil (small price for piece of mind). http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1947019395_Lotus shock bracket 003.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1036560826_IMG_2173.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1422298942_IMG_2172.JPG
  11. That looks like a great car.... And Ford won't deliver it here in the U.S. Hence the rant. Then again, I don't know how many Americans would spend 35 grand on a Focus. But even if they only brought over 500 or so (which they could probably sale just for the exclusitivy) it would do wonders for Ford's image in that segment.
  12. Seems weird that GM can built an awesome corvette but can't translate that knowledge into high performance small cars.
  13. Welcome Pretty far from the Bay Area but if your ever in the neighborhood or have a question (though I'm one of the least mechanically inclined here)... I do have 225/45/17 & 275/40/17 on 8 & 9 inch wheels with backspace of 35mm in front & 43mm in rear. They may be a bit overkill (was looking at a supercharger but lots of $$$) they fill out the fenders nicely. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1688721350_mine at racetrack.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/291777362_motorcycle gear 012.jpg
  14. It's funny how everyone is taken back by how small my Ultralite is.... I need to whip out that pic. Your really shoulder to shoulder in a standard size 7
  15. I had a Europa and always wished I would of gotten an Elan instead. But after replacing the electrical system, new interior, paint, hopped up motor... I just didn't have it in me to go thru another Lotus.... and I married that girl 24 years ago:cool:

  18. a classic but still funny Old is just Old - Old is not Dumb ! A strong young man at a construction site was bragging that he could out do anyone in a feat of strength. He made a special case of making fun of one of the older workmen named Royce. After several minutes, the older worker had enough. 'Why don't you put your money where your mouth is,' he said. 'I will bet a week's wages that I can haul something in a wheelbarrow over to that building that you won't be able to wheel back.' 'You're on, old man,' the braggart replied. 'Let's see you do it.' The old man reached out and grabbed the wheelbarrow by the handles. Then, nodding to the young man, he said, 'All right, Dumb Ass, get in.'
  19. I saw one video where the guy hits the side of the mountain, pulls his chute and ends up in the bushes on the side of a cliff and ends up with a broken leg (lucky I guess)....
  20. Bakersfield's Circuit City store was their #1 store (in our paper today). Sad that a store that was doing well locally gets shut down. I think the internet and no tax has made a big impact.... the tax thing may be changing soon. On the upside you can get the exact item you want on the web while they might not have that particular model in the store. On the downside, you better hope you know exactly what you want because there's little customer service/expertise and you can't see/touch it. Sign of the times I guess.
  21. Just dont drive at night:jester:
