  1. Why pay $500.? Ask a local sheet metal guy to roll you a 5 1/2 inch stainless half moon and you are all set. I paid $90.
  2. Lemon & Orange like a citrus candies.
  3. You want lemon or orange?
  4. Feff---any Limerock in the future?
  5. Engineering students from Stanford and the Technical University of Munich should collaborated to stop the rain so I can drive my buggy. Month of June, we had 24 days of rain. Month of July....still raining. 7 days forecast in my area: MONDAY-rain TUESDAY -so,so http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/8338/1303animado.gif WEDNESDAY-rain THURSDAY -rain FRIDAY-rain SAT-rain SUN-rain http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/5090/1308animado.gif
  6. air/fuel mixture screw adjustment. Also check the synch. I played the weber for just a month, I know there is a mixture screw. 40 years in weber?
  7. Is this a weber sidedraft? If popping, it's rich... the adjustment went off --->as usual. Use a colortune.
  8. You'd have to "dial-in" a launch RPM (which will change based on pavement, temperature, etc...), bring up the motor to that RPM, then launch - you'll have to experiment with feathering the clutch a little, say - go to full engage in 15 feet, or whatever. Trial and error, but that's the fun. I know I strayed from the info you were asking. If I'm in the airport tarmac, I can experiment & not get scared. Our backroad barely fits two cars. Its very quick to meet Mr. Ditch. I don't know the power to weight but the dyno just registered 210WRHP (Honda engine).
  9. EXACTLY!! I noticed you eased the accelerator too. This is the first time I drove the car since I replaced the engine. I'm re-learning how to launch this car. At dead stop at WOT, if i release the clutch late (split seconds), it will be my worse nightmare. I've been testing the car yesterday, my son said it's Father's day. I should stop or they will not enjoy the BBQ grill. I got scared & I stopped.
  10. Everything are very tight, bushings were renewed including the lower-upper ball joints. The car stays straight and does not wander in cruising speed. In hard acceleration, at 1st & 2nd does the nasty stuff. Someone behind me and and told me the car is like skate, I remember its in 3rd gear the same as slngsht video. I think softning might help. I also plan to lower the tire pressure from 22psi to 17 or 18 psi. Someone also commented that those Mickey Thompson et street radials needs to be hot --- zhyte, I'm not drag racing, ain't doing a burn out. http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/strip.php?item=ETStreetRadialII Weather in New England is sucky for 2 to 3 weeks now. I can't test. Mosquitos are breeding and partying.
  11. thanks....I will make a donation.
  12. Ok thank you, I will try to soften the ride and experiment. I guess that's the best I can do.
  13. "Do I get a toe-out under compression?" Geeeee, We aligned the car stationary. We used the latest hi-tech computerized wheel aligner. I don't know if I'm getting the value tow-out you mentioned during the suspension travel. How can do that? Put a load on the car, run it and check the toe-out? Can I make the rear suspension soft? say 2 clicks? It's 5 clicks all the way.
  14. Y E S !!! JUST LIKE THAT. Darn i'm so scared everytime I hit it hard like that. At times, I try not to WOT, fear is always in my mind. The rear suspension is independent, diff is a quaife atb, the alignment is 20-30 minutes toe in Camber is 1/4 degree negative. Damper is Protech 5 clicks, spring is 180lbs, Tire is Mickey thompson street et radial II.
  15. Mod---you can delete this if necessary, no problem. Lotus enthusiast helping someone: I have been asked by one of the LOONYs to sell his car. To make a long story short, reason for selling at this time is a financial hardship that includes having his house slide down a hill into a creek and the house being condemned. All of this is not covered by insurance. Big story here in WNY and although there has been an outpouring of help, donations and free services, it has not and will not allow them to cover the massive expense of now having to tear down the house and find another place to live as the site is current house was located on will not be rebuildable. So he must sell one of his Sevens. He has two Sevens, the one listed and one in the beginning of a restoration. It is located at http://www.lotusowners.com/ForSale/CMSeven/index.htm First, if anyone knows of anyone that would be interested, please pass it along. And.as to the value... I thought that $25K is a fair value, but after seeing the one on EBay that only went for just under 22K..I am not sure. http://cgi.ebay. com/ebaymotors/ ws/eBayISAPI. dll?ViewItem http://cgi.ebay. com/ebaymotors/ ws/eBayISAPI. dll?ViewItem& item=23034594670 8& ssPageName=ADME: B:EF:MOTORS: 1123> &item=230345946708& ssPageName= ADME:B:EF: MOTORS:1123 I am just trying to help him get a fair price for his Seven. Any thoughts? Tony Vaccaro LOONY (Lotus Owners of New York) http://www.lotusowners. com 716-861-1412
  16. yes when their is wheel spin
  17. Bushings are new, damper (protech) new, tire brand new (mickey thompson et street radial II). Yep! I added QUAIFE ATB this year.
  18. Are you talking about 10 minutes? 60 minutes = 1 deg 10 minutes = 0.16666667 deg
  19. John---what do you think I should try? Currently I'm using the 2000S alignment specs: http://mjmturbos.com/images/s2kalignment.doc At standing start, the car will "violently" pull on one side at WOT. If I'm not careful, I will meet Mr. ditch. I have to correct it quickly or decrease the acelleration. I would like to try SEWi "toe in" instead of 2000s "Toe out" What do you think?
  20. Thanks John --- I'm not too successful using the sport 2000s. I will try my luck using SEWi.
  21. Westfield users, what is best alignment for Westfield. Front & rear Toe & Front & rear caster. Thank you
  22. What's wrong using the quaife reverse box unit? I used to have a reverse box for my hayabusa http://mjmturbos.com/images/reversemount.jpg
  23. I never been a dyno queen person. What I do know, the owners who gets a lower horsepower will cry foul and blame it all to the dyno unit. All the conspiracy theory on particular dyno unit vs the other brand. Those who gets a higher horsepower reading are convinced the unit is the most accurate brand. You feed the brain with a positive numbers and he'll be satisfied. I've seen them all in the dyno shop. I concentrated more in suspension setup. The seven is very critical in geometry for track or simply for main street. All those horsepower without a proper damper, spring rate, tires, geometry setup is USELESS to the 7. Like a rocket without guidance. A highly suspension setup 7 will beat any 400hp rice & iron.
  24. Yeah I weight in 135 lbs but no cars to compare....no wings, ribs and hamburgers either.
