"If I was going to build something to do the Texas mile it would most likely not been a 7 type. (Bad aero) But we were thinking one day..... I wonder how fast this thing will go...." Me too, couple of times wondering how much you can push an umbrella like 7 car in Texas mile. Something to prove. If you are going to do this again next year, why not put the low compression piston back next year. I'm willing to give you a Garrett GT35 with .82 a/r in the turbine and a hybrid .60 a/r at the compressor. With the proper mapping, 550 - 600hp is easily attainable. After 60ft hang on, this turbo in full spool all the way to 9k. Turbo is good for a hi-reviving engine like S2000. You will not be able to compete with the big boys using the rotrex. Your issue simply the lack of volume (force induction issue). Rotrex is good for street. Then maybe I will see you next time at Bonneville !!!!
-
How did you lower it? Did you put a thicker head gasket or a sets of piston? I believed the stock Honda s2000 compression is 11.1 to 1, this is already very high in forced induction project. How much compression will u bump up? Lowering compression & rely on big boost is far better than raising the compression and boost...I hope you can control the detonation. No room for a mistake here. Your problem is just the supercharger who can't deliver the boost....low compression is ideal. If this is turbo and the compression is low say (8.0 or 8.5), you will not have issue making 500hp. Less detonation then bump the boost!!
-
In my estimation, you better off using a turbocharger if you are shooting 500hp and 180mph.....in the downside, it's hot. Turbo can deliver a wider power than the supercharger. Your project probably done by now. 90 more horespower to go...even changing the pulley might not do it. You will end up going to a bigger size rotrex than the one they sent you. They have 3 C38 series --61, 71 & 81 Your original rotrex maybe 61 & upgraded to 81 or something new?

Speaking of different 7 engines, many years ago I know a 7 with GM Quad 4 engine. Wonder what happened to that engine (Quad 4) ? http://tinyurl.com/34dh4b5 GM heavily promoted this engine, it's a big splash then...somehow faded. -

Should we attend LOG 31 or aim for a National USA7s Meet in 2011?

Yeah you are right...not all of them....sorry ...but there is no denial there is friction I got kit and they got real stuff, I can see where they are coming. I don't give a zhyte. I'm not gonna worry and lost sleep because I got the clone. Oh, I wish I can say my kit is a lotus seven...but I rather not say it. I tell them the brand and let them decide. I'm not going to pretend its real.....I avoid confrontation and being snobbed...that's where the problem starts. .....and I agree, we should have our own log. I don't go to the log anymore. I learned my lesson, there is no business bringing my clone to real Lotus gathering. Informal gathering is ok. That's only my opinion....you may disagree. -

Sorry---just a bit confused. "There was an overt tone of hostility being shown to the “modern” Sevens group by the “classic” Sevens owners. I tried to talk with three owners of “classic” sevens " Croc---are the snubbed modern 7 you are relating are the Caterham-Westfield-Rotus-Superperformance-Berkins-Ultralights-etc..etc...etc..etc and the snubish were the real Lotus seven owners? If it is, I can see why and this is not an old story. tHE real Lotus seven club will not accept the above. -
sounds like it. vs a modified fastest lotus europa in the class.

"The examples stated by you sound more like the meaning of "I got mine... screw you". Nope! I did not get mine for free, you missed my word: Work and earn it!! I bust my azz, go home late & tired to meet the end....I'm not afraid to pay what I needed for my family to survive. I got to do what I got to do. Ain't waiting for free stuffs. Here is the testimonial for those lazy, free riders and fleas. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Nearly-half-of-US-households-apf-1105567323.html?x=0&.v=1 Who else do you think will pay for your free rides? Ain't free baby. There are only a couple of people paying taxes and busting their azzez. The article said...."The result is a tax system that exempts almost half the country from paying for programs that benefit everyone, including national defense, public safety, infrastructure and education" Sales Tax Hotel Tax School Tax Liquor Tax Luxury Tax Excise Taxes Property Tax Cigarette Tax Medicare Tax Inventory Tax Car Rental Tax Real Estate Tax Well Permit Tax Fuel Permit Tax Inheritance Tax Road Usage Tax CDL license Tax State Income Tax Food License Tax Vehicle Sales Tax death tax Funeral tax These people have been living high on the hog expecting the governments to pay their way through life while not paying enough in taxes. I don't mind to help those without but we can no longer afford it....somewhere in between we need to compromise. That compromise is to work & study hard. Free stuff is sucks....don't work. Free riders abused the system. Everyone has to contribute to make this country afloat.

I hate free for all stuff. I hate European free for all style welfare system. We used to have a free for all park, low lifes invaded, ruined, graffiti, drinking, fighting and stealing at the park. To make the story short, they renovated the park, imposed a $5.00 fee at the gate, a security camera, planted a guard at the entrace and a volunteer beat. Today, the park is the most beautiful park in the area. Weddings & family picnic happens every week at the park. Community are proud and people are safe. No more hangouts......no more crimes. That's the meaning of "Pursuit of happiness" Work and earn it!!

Yeah, I want to see it repealed. I want to be in the same benefits before the OBOSO healthcare. I don't want the government forcing me to buy expensive health insurance, at the same time contribute to 30,000 millions who don't work, lazy and gets the free ride. As much as I want to see the government gets out of my life & has limited role to its citizen. Fix the healthcare for those 30,000, slowly, accurately and not for free. Leave me alone. I will take care myself.

Can anyone out there do a written appraisal?
BusaNostra replied to afs's topic in General Sevens Discussion
I think the person has to have an appraisal certificate to appraise. Other thing you can try is ask your local town MV assessor....but if specialty car like the 7, I doubt they know. Hopefully the assessors has one 7 in the grand list record. Another one is the car dealer. If you know someone you might ask a favor...otherwise you pay. -

Oh sorry....I missed the "by Richard Sullivan" The P-39 clip is awesome too. Thanks.

Very important documentary. Your dad should get a medal for this job. One thing I noticed, the soldier of yesteryears were lean, healthy and well fit vs today's fat tattoed bulky soldiers. ....but the same people who served for the country & deserved an utmost respect.

I think we should use the word cruising and hood instead of blating and bonnet. We are USA7 right?
