So my Megabusa might not be street legal...
BusaNostra replied to Hank's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Hank--->Sorry to hear this. I know the gripes, been there done that. Before I build my Westfield I researched the DMV laws and regulations. I comformed to all areas that will give me a problem during the inspection. You should have followed the sequence and put less value on dress up parts like the aeroscreen. You should have bought the Westfield windshield that is very easy to mount and to disassemble. I can assemble and disassemble my windshield in an hour. After you pass, you can put your aeroscreen. I had an aeroscreen too but elected to put the windshield back. Still have kids in college, worry to get blind. Aeroscreen looks a gunfighter, I'm worried on the 22 cal on the other side. I can wear a helmet too but look chessy to play race car driver in public. Call Westfield and buy the windshield and the wiper..there is no way around. Just do it. -

My priority is dependability. Dry sump is good but another unit to worry & to breakdown. Make it simple "stupid" approach.

I need someone to finish my Megabusa engine wiring...
BusaNostra replied to Hank's topic in Bike Engined Sevens
Hank----I did the same thing to my hayabusa turbo wiring (Westfield of course). I placed the ECU under the passenger area. Yes, you need to extend the wires to reach the projected area. Took me night and day to accomplish the job. Buy a couple of 18ga wires (diff colors) & bunch of butt connectors. The first step I did was to unwrapped the Busa stock harness. Identify which wire or sensor wires that needs to be extended. You have do it carefully and accurately. Never cut more than two wires. "Cut, extend, solder & label" You will make it, its just tidious. -
the car show is over!

---replace your engine with HOnda S2000 and be happy.

When Chapman left, he didn't know rabbits were taking fertility pills. Confuse which 7?

Wondering if there was a seven type cars that runs in 24 hours Daytona, Sebring, Le mans or other big racing events? I'm expecting to see Westfield/Caterham due to their good financial health. In the future maybe???

Post your FAVORITE PHOTO of your 7.
BusaNostra replied to MHKflyer52's topic in General Sevens Discussion
One reason I did not participated in showing my seven. I know one or two members will make it a very big deal...of nothing. Yours & my clone 7 is a kit car man! Worse enough, this site was too limited, resticted & no fun at all. We are here to have fun not to wrestle with stupid legal stuff. Why baited everyone to publish their 7 pictures then tell everyone after, there are legal zhyte ? Where is the fun & peace of mind?:cuss: -
Did you pass AL GORE's house? Your seven was listed an inconvenient truth in his book...you shouldn't be driving in winter while the temperature is summer. You giving him lot's of fraud ammo.

Anyone live in Daytona Beach FL?
BusaNostra replied to WestTexasS2K's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Fedex has a department for big bulk item like the engine. I don't know the name of the department but you can ask them. Year ago, I bought an engine in Alabama. I called the fedex and they dispatched a truck with forklift. They put the engine in the crate and sent it to me. I gave them my Visa card and that's it! -
Well, enough of the seven for now. If I need to prolong my marriage and drive a 7 on summer, I need to upgrade the bathroom. Wifey is mad now!! So, the mechanical upgrade is the toilet flush mechanism that was leaking fo so long!!

Before I went to England, I contacted Westfield. I wired half of the money before I travelled. When I got there, I paid the whole amount. I didn't pay any VAT. The original order was from the U.S.A. There are so many things you can do to avoid this and that.
-
I went to England and bought my Westfield. They boxed and shipped in the US without engine and tranny. Declared auto parts. Picked it, paid the custom & build the car. I met the requirement...boooom, I got my registration. I guess it depends upon many scenarios. Commerical, personal, industrial use or kits??? You name it, read the bible book of the custom. Too many interpretations. Just like what you said, you think you are right & arguing for 4 years, you think the EPA is clueless?
-
If I am not mistaken (someone can correct me), you can import any car in the world, bring to the US, but does not mean you will be able to register until you meet EPA, DOT or U.S. safety standards. Just like buying a kit car or clone.....you know how hard to register this sucker? My car registration probaly up the value of my clone. My clone itself has no value...hahaha!
