You guys are right on the money on several issues. BussaNostra, We lowered the compression with pistons to 9.5. Which is great for a turbo motor running pump gas, not good for a supercharged motor running E-85. (Tactical Error on our part) We were producing 387 Rwhp before we toasted the motor (oil pick up issue) with the smaller C38-61 Rotrex. This allowed us to redline to 9000 in 5th gear (Road Atlanta 2008) Turbo: I agree with you this would be no problem to accomplish with a turbo. We choose to do the project with a Rotrex for 3 reasons. 1. HEAT.... The Rotrex unit produces very little and makes living in the cockpit for 4000 mile trips much more bearable. 2. The car is set up to be a road racing/ street car, not a drag car 1/4 or mile. The Rotrex unit provides a very smooth linear power curve that is very controllable. Very important when road racing a 1500 lbs car. 3. Packaging. It would fit the hole we had. The air conditioning compressor hole.... If I was going to build something to do the Texas mile it would most likely not been a 7 type. (Bad aero) But we were thinking one day..... I wonder how fast this thing will go.... I think the last run of the day we would have broken 170 mph but, I did a 2nd gear launch and smoked the clutch. (167.4 mph) I will try to get the video posted of that run. Pulling off this kind of speed in one mile may not sound so hard when you can run 146 in the 1/4 mile. But, when you shift from 4th to 5th gear at 150 your rate of acceleration decreases rapidly. We should have been shifting to 5th at 165. Maybe in March. Slngsht: Fuel pumps.... It is more of a challenge than one might think to find a fuel pump for this little beast. A couple of things to consider. It has to be compatible with both Alcohol and gasoline.... That is a challenge just by its self... Next it has to flow enough GPH @ 80 psi to feed 4-1000cc injectors. Next is Cost. The pump we were using cost $400..... and kept failing... The new Weldon pump.... We don't want to talk about that... because my wife reads this forum and I would like to keep my limbs.... Our goal was to try and keep all the components affordable for the car. Hey Mondo, It is a little exciting.... What we did was step into it slowly. 1st 2 runs were with all wings and elements next we lost the top element on the rear wing. Then the top element on the front. Then no rear wing at all. It wasn't to bad. The runway is very wide so you have allot to play with. Unlike a track where you are shooting for an apex.

Hey guys, Sorry for not getting this out to you guys sooner. Just spent 2 days driving and working on the car without any sleep. We installed the new supercharger Thursday morning and worked on the tune till 10 pm. We were unable to make the kind of power we were looking for. Only 410 to the wheels. We found that the fuel pump was not delivering enough fuel to keep up. We went ahead to the Tx mile anyways just to see what we could pull off. We ran just a bit under 170 mph. She was still pulling but we just ran out of room. I had to short shift it every run because the fuel pressure would drop. We found the bearing had gone out of the pump and caused a bit of wear inside the D rotor. We will make some changes and try again in march. It always amazes me how in a crowd of incredible cars these little cars have the biggest draw. The wreck above was off the hook. Thank goodness he walked away. He came by and visited with me for about 25 min the day before asking a bunch of questions about Mojito. He really liked the car. I had no idea who he was till he invited us to come over to his rig for BBQ that evening. Super nice guy. The little boy is Kenny Trans son..... Of all the amazing cars that come thru their shop Kenny said Mojito is his sons favorite.... (green is his favorite color)

Thanks Skip, It was alot of fun. It looks like one of the children we were looking for may have been found during the event. Some one recognized the abductor. So far over the 3 years the event has been going on it has been responsible for recovering 34 kids.

Try second place and no cones.... Everyone watching was in total shock.... I had no idea the truck could do what it does... The sheriff and the corner worker at Heartland park made this comment. "Man you scared the shit out of me when I saw you coming into that turn, I do not know if your knuckles were white , but mine were white for you. You looked way too fast for those corners, I just knew you were going to crash. But you hunkered that big beast down slid all 3 wheels into that 1st turn and torn through there with black smoke rolling out of one side and white smoke coming off the inside rear tire. (me 3 wheels? ) Yes, because you had about an inch of air under the front inside tire, we thought we were seeing things until you did it 2 more times. In the 23 years I have been on the force I have never seen anything like it. " Corner worker " Man you are crazy" Me .. I hear that more and more now days...

Rear wheel bearing went out on day 4, so we towed him for 2 days of the event until his parts arrived then I fixed it for him.... If you ever get a chance to work on a Delorean ..... Don't.... LOL Paul Nigh is a super nice guy and I did not have the heart to leave him behind, so we rented a trailer from U-haul and kept him in the game.

Packed up and head to Dallas for tunning and then on to the FireBall Run starting in Henderson NV.

Ok guys here are a few updated pics. We have really been throwing some time at the air box and the intercooler in the last few days as you can see we have covered the intercooler tank in lizard skin.
