Price of the trailer has been reduced to $6,000. I have need for the space in my hanger. It was built to fit my Birkin, and can be used with or W/O the enclosure. I friend used it haul his motorcycles a few times.

And I thought I was screwed up with my toys, I think you folks passed me. At least when I get upside down , I don't loose paint.

I just looked at the ad again it is 77" between the fenders, 102" to the out side. Gary

985 lbs empty with top on. I had a high Roll bar and wanted it to clear the top if it was on the car. I also wanted it to be solid, I had seen some that were hinged on the front, for bikes and snowmobiles, that were not too solid feeling.

If you are only looking to tow an 7, the single axle 2990 GVW Alumna has been a great trailer for me. With a light built enclosure I was still less than 1,000 LBS after I added an surge disk brake kit. I put the car in the trailer and sat the tongue weight to 90 LBS. It made the loaded trailer weight at less than 2,300 LBS. Other than passing, I could not feel it behind my little VW Jetta TDI. The Jetta has the DGS. At high speeds you can flick the steering wheel and no ill effects. If you go this way, you would need to order the 2990 LB hitch from Europe. Mid 20's MPG towing is great to me. The single axle is great for moving by hand also. Gary

If you go light, the TDI cars are great for pulling a 7. I installed a surge brake on my light weight trailer W/ single axle. It feels great at well over posted speeds. I get no push with the trailer at when loaded. With almost 60,000 miles it is still running original brake pads. The Jetta TDI is a great choice. I didn't tow much to be fair, but if I did it all over again, it would be the same choice. I have never had any wind issues either. I never towed on snow or ice with it, but much hard rain and no issues. Gary

I don't need mirrors or high HP for my enclosed trailer. By keeping everything light and compact, I don't have wind blowing it around either. If you don't need to haul large cars light weight and low build height is the way to go. I used mine as an open trailer until I went through a long rain soaked tow.

I have an Aluma aluminum enclosed / open trailer and VW TDI Sports Wagon to sell. My Birkin is sold and I will no longer need the trailer or TDI. It is an Alum 77" X 12' 2990 # GVW that I added an surge brake system to it with disk brakes. Total empty trailer weight is now 985 LBS with the removable top on. It tows very nice behind my little VW TDI Jetta Sports Wagon. It is 100% stable at very high speeds loaded with the Birkin on it. The enclosed top will go on or off in 1/2 to 3/4s of an hour. My TDI MPG will drop from about 37 MPG to around 25 MPG towing the car at high speed. It has been tested to 115 MPH loaded. I used the trailer to haul a couple canoes more than the Birkin. I need my hanger storage space now for another airplane. Look at my photos here. I'm looking for $7,000 or near offer. I have just added the 2010 VW Jetta TDI W/ 59,000 miles if someone wants the turnkey package. It has the Westfalia 2990 LB hitch installed. The hitch has been modified by welding an removable 2" square receiver below the ball out of the way. There is no reason to remove the receiver to use the ball. The 2" hitch receiver was added for my bicycle carrier, or future needs. The TDI if driven @ posted speeds will do 40 MPG. I'm thinking $26K for all. The TDI has new Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus tires 70,000 mile warranty on tread life. Price reduction on the trailer to: $6,000.

A friend of mine has one. It is so quiet in the go to jail speeds, unlike the 71 Miura S I had. The Miura S sounded like some one was trying to cut the engine in half with a chain saw at high RPM's. The GT 40 is one great car, I only drove it an hour, all way too fast, some local roads got new land speed records.

Thanks for the kind reviews. Yes, I had cut the center of the ramp to clear. It only takes about 1/2 hour to unbolt the top from the trailer and use open. I just stand the top up on the back end to save floor space. I also cut an window into the back, so I could see who is behind. I look through over the top of the car. It is set to 90 LBS weight on my hitch loaded. I made stops so it is the same. At speed I can flick the steering wheel and no ill effects. All loaded, I'm only towing less than 2300 LBS. The brakes work great.

Thanks, I hate to see both go, but the grandson is in need of an trainer airplane. Need money and room for the project.

I have a very light enclosed trailer, no interior lights needed. I also remove the enclosed top to haul other things. The empty weight with the enclosure on weighs 985# this is after the added disk brakes. Loaded with the 7 it weighs less than 2300Lbs and is set to give 90# hitch weight. At highway speeds and above the MPG drops from mid 30's to mid 20's. The little VW TDI wagon tows it like it is empty. I will be selling the 7 and trailer to make room for another airplane. I have photos listed here.

Alumina 12' I added the disk / surge brakes to it. I had plans of some long distance track days, but then changed my direction. I built the frame from .063 square tube. I then added the clear poly carb to it. I also added extra tie downs and door to the front, back and side. The trailer W/O brakes from Alumina weighed 585 LBS. it ended up @ 985 LBS when done. I purchased the Jetta TDI Wagon to pull the trailer. It handles very well loaded at jail speeds. I ordered a hitch from England that would be safe at 3,000 LBS. In the US all you can get is 1,000 LB hitches. I did the mid 20 MPGs towing at speed. The plan was to have the wagon carry what was needed as well as an area in front of the car. I had planned on towing it open till I did a few trips in the rain. The F150 Ford I had covered it with road dirt. The clear PC is great for the tie down at night, no flash light required. The cover will unbolt in about 15 min so I can use as an open trailer for canoes and yard work. I can then stand it up in my hanger while I use it as an open trailer. All of this is a one man job. I have a light weight enclosed trailer. Single axle with surge brake. The trailer weighs less then 1,000 enclosed. I pull it with a little TDI Jetta wagon. Handles great at any speed! Photos in photo section. Gary

If we register and license our guns, we should box them up and wait for the goverment when they come for them. If someone evil breaks into my house, I will not be one who will need to ask them to wait till I go get a gun from the safe. I don't beleive I or anyone could survive a military encounter. We would be like the encounter with native americans and the military. It is my beleif though if it degrades to this, the worst is yet to come. We all have our opinions on this issue, and we all think we are thinking correct. Most Police officers feel as I do, if that helps.
-
You are correct I don't know of any citizenry that refused to turn their guns when the government came for them. Millions of them were then exterminated, history has many examples. I sure hope we don't give in either. Not all of us can afford to have bodyguards full time, as many of the people in power do have at our expense. The police have guns to protect them, not us. They rarely get to an active crime scene. They do have the time required to get there to take the report though. Too few for the area they cover. I live in an area that would take over 20 to 40 min. to get one to our home. We live in a low crime area, and feel secure but need to be prepared on our own. We are the ones that cling to our guns and bibles and older family values. I don't know the exact issues of having a person in the house that has received meds or help for nerves that would trip the issue. I would think if they didn’t have access to a gun it could be ok. I know for aviation it can be a got you if you were even prescribed the wrong meds even for sleeping. I know of a few people that had major problems and spent much time and money to get their tickets back from this.
-
I'm not so sure they will get their guns or compensation. Look what the government did after hurricane Katrina. They took guns from home owners that needed them to protect their families and homes. The second amendment was also to protect ourselves from our government as well as from criminals.

I can't get the granson out of the 7, he loves it. I told the wife to get started on the turkey, she told me ****. Thanks, we were lucky Jake is still below the windscreen due to his size. Jake said Cameron needs to come back for a visit, he enjoyed it. He thinks Cameron needs an A/C ride, and there are still some things for Cameron to see. We could take them on an canoe ride. Jake likes both the 7 & the A/C, he has been doing rolls now for about a year, not in the 7 though. All I get to do is the landings anymore when he is here.
