  1. As a friend said to me "fight every ticket as it is the last one you can get" if you keep it off the record, you don't get to the last one. What you save on Insurance and the ticket makets it worth it! If they can be selective on their law enforcement, we should also be selective on the ones we beleive in!
  2. My 750 Honda powered golf cart didn't have rerverse either. With the live axle rear, I had to make larger turns.
  3. You will love the lift, I installed one in my hanger a few years ago. I have 14' height to work under. Why did I wait so long to do it?
  4. I felt the same way about them, but I won't tell Ron as he buys lunch at times!
  5. I have a friend here in Ohio that purchased his new in 1974, he just put it up for sale. He purchased a new Elise and has a room problem. His wife is against the sale! His name is Ron Schneider @ 330-833-1459
  6. At 2600 LBS I would think the handling would be down, but if you are looking for a cruiser, it would work. A Mercedes 7? But then knowing you, I could see twin turbos growing on it. The rear view reminded me of my old 427 Cobra.
  7. Robert, the aviation event won out, with much help from the grandson. Have a great safe drive.
  8. I have the top, but I hope for a few more warm days this year. If I go to a warm place this year, it will be topless there also.
  9. Robert, can you give me a call as you get to Canton? cell: 704-5686. It will be around 50' and I have no roof or heater. Navagator? Mine is very weak, what kind of event is this a rally? If it is wet down south, there is an aviation event I will likely do as I never miss it. My A/C has a heater & roof.
  10. I have a friend here in OHIO that built a 1905 Wright fFyer. It was a true 100% replica that he flew at least 60 flights in it. He built the exact derrick that had a rail extending out from as a catapult. There was an 1,500 Lb weight that he dropped to shoot it up to speed. I had crewed for him many times as it took about 6 to 8 people to stage it for flight. He cast the engine, It was 100% as the Wrights did in 1905. Same materials, HP & Props. & all. He crashed it at Hoffman Prairie @ Dayton on a practice flight. His name is Mark Dusenberry, and there is several clips on him on the NASA site. He didn't fare too well as he is now in a wheelchair.
  11. I took the wife for a ride Saturday. It was in the mid 60's and on some winding roads for about 100 miles. Three times I got behind some H.D. bikes, but not for long. Each time some hot dog makes a run on me, they are too easy. I'm sure glad I see very few real bikes out there, as the story would have a differnt ending. She loves to ride in this little box, never complains about speed or drifting some turns. She hates to fly with me though??
  12. Just advise the exit, Bolivar? I'm about 15 min. from there.
  13. Robert, I know a local guy that can help you out, his shop is on the south side of Canton. You can mention my name & not get thrown out. G&M, ask for George, 477-3392
  14. I just got mine running today. My mainshaft in the gearbox sheared on a 4th to 5th shift @ max RPM. It then got a valve.
  15. Bob, it sounds interesting, I sent a copy to Ron Schneider, and he would be interested in doing the drive in his new Elise also. I just need to put mine back together again, and will be if all goes well.
  16. Robert & Mary, this sounds interesting. Gary
  17. I have two sets of these for my car & and they work well. cheap & good quality W/O too much weight.
  18. I used 1" X .063 square tubes and bolted it to the bottom of the Birkin. They were spaced far enough apart for me to drop my slim Ultrashield seat down in between. I cut out the floor between them and then added .032 T3 aluminum on the bottom side of the tubes for an 1" drop. If another person that was shorter was to drive the car, I would just add padding in the seat to fit them. I had removed the tracks prior, but it was not enough for me.
  19. Yesterday we saw the same at an IMAX in Cleveland. It was interesting, as the above link also was.
  20. I'm about 35 miles south. I have a Birkin with lowered seat. I'm also 6'1"> I was about 230 when I purchased it. I have standard, not wide size 12 foot size. I use narrow shoes when driving the car though. You are welcome to try it on.
  21. A Liquor sales Co.dream poster!!!
  22. I would think a broken ring. Too rich would be out the exhaust with smoke. I would do an compression test and also read the spark plugs. If it is water, I would think a head gasket. If oil, likely a broken ring. A broken oil ring would not show up on the compresson test, but a compression ring would show up. If it is valve guides it would smoke out the exhaust. This is just a quick idea.
  23. Here you go. I have these in my Birkin. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/KIR-09800/
