  1. Here is one for you: 8 x 8 x Excellent: 1973 Tatra 813 Kolos This 1973 Tatra 813 8×8 is perfect for the daily commute, with a tire inflation system on all eight wheels, roof hatches, and a cab air filtration system in case of chemical warfare. It is apparently ex-DDR East German Army and runs a 12-cylinder Diesel engine. Find it here on eBay in Quakertown, Pennsylvania with a Buy-It-Now of $9k. Special thanks to BaT reader Axel C. for this submission! Bring a Trailer http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220754325365+&viewitem= Gary
  2. Hank, All I can tell you is: If you get it crossed up drifting a turn with all wheel drive, don't let go of the steering wheel and expect it to center. You need to stay busy cranking. Gary
  3. I thought it was a seven that was reassembled by a body shop that mixed up the parts from several wrecked cars. Some what like most sevens, but in very poor taste.
  4. WWII was the last war that was supported by all. My hat is off to all that served there. The horror for all of those involved in wars. My heart is also open to all of those that served from then till now. I also feel for the suffering the families of then and now that still endure the pain as they send their loved ones to war. Gary

    mind reading

I think I'm an Lesbian also.
  7. I had a copy of mine made to where my helmet is now below the roll bar, not above. I also lowered the floor 1". I now am about 3" below. I also had a new top made to fit the tall bar. We are close to a large group of Amish. I think one of the canvas top shops charged me about $200 for a new one. The rear windows are taller, so in scale it looks fine. We kept the door window height the same so I didn't need new doors. Once I get my head in the door, I have more head room to finish the rough climb in. Gary
  8. As a friends girlfriend once said at an aviation dinner: If you can fly it, float it or **** it, rent it! We had a second home for years that we didn't rent out. I used it a few weeks a year. As it was in FL. I paid for every thing, lawn care, taxes, utilities, and when I was there everyone else had a vacation while I was the maintenance man. That was on a new house It cost me even more when I sold it on a down market, about 20 years ago. We also had a few single family homes that had people managing for us. On half of them we did ok, the other half we lost money on. Any problems we handled by contractors, and the agency likely had 200 other rentals, so we were small fish to them. Owning a rental that you are too far away to manage didn't work for us. Now when we go for a week or a few months, we rent a house. When we walk out the door, I'm done paying. The cost is about 90% less per year. We rent one as good as we had. I use VRBO & Cragslist as well as other sites that rent. We have only had one bad experience with them over the years.
  9. I think I'm one of those sitting down!

    Miata?

Take a look at the VW TDI, The older Passat & Jetta's can fit into this and can be screwed with to run quite well, talk to Roman. Our 2010 Jetta TDI Wagon can do the 1246 mile trip to the son's house with two fuel stops at "GOOD" highway speeds. Some who drive much slower could do it with one stop. That is with an 14.5 Gallon tank. As you know, they are great for light towing.
  11. I have the R888's 225/45/15 on the rear & 195/50/15 on the front. They like many others are great in dry & ok wet. Don't drive them in flooded roads where you can't see the grain of the pavement though. The price point is good as well.
  12. I also listened to him, in the day he was racey, as in on the edge of what people could say. It made every young man want to grow up and get a 427 Cobra ,He also did one on soap, Sug that was good for the day. It took me till 1970 to get my 427 Cobra, and like a fool I sold it in 1971 with 5,800 miles for 10K to fund a purchase of a new Pantera. As most who know me, I'm not the sharpest Knife in the drawer.

  14. When I store my mower I run 100LL AVGAS in it for the last fill up. In all of my weed earers I mix the 2cycle with avgas as well. I do the same with my 7. No problems to date

  16. Today, @ 65' was great as well as was the past week for a blast through the country side. After Sat. the cold will hit us again. Other than too many deer in the area, It is great!
  17. I gave my wife a new riding lawn mower for mothers day once. A few years latter when I quit working she gave it to me. Who is the lowest, she gave me a used gift?
  18. When I run 0 toe in for crisp turn in, it is a hand full at high speed straight line. If I add a little toe in it feels very stable at speed. It is like installing feathers on an arrow type of difference. I also run 2.5' of camber at all times.
  19. I sold CSX 3300 for $10K back in 1972, it had 5,800 miles on it then.
  20. I think all of these are run from our friends down under. The city gets their take. We are collectable most crimes cost the city!
