A nurse walks into a bank totally exhausted after a 20 hour mandatory overtime shift due to nursing shortage. Preparing to write a check, she pulls a rectal thermometer out of her bag and tries to write with it.She looks at the flabbergasted cashier and without missing a beat says, "Well, that's great....that's really great...some azzhole's got my pen!

... Or she could simply ride Slngsht :leaving:

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=122724 at $75K, this car is a steal. Chevy's Z06 did it in 7:42 with runcrap tires back in '06... looks like Blue Devil is coming just at the right time. These times are insane for production cars.

you know when a light bulb goes off in your head...

hell yeah  I can look into what it takes with the other browsers... The basic technology is based on closed captioning, so I'm sure there is a way to satisfy that. I don't know exactly how Traqmate does it, but a couple of years ago, I did a project to actually capture and overlay data onto the video itself, including dial gauges. Unfortunately I no longer have a video sample, but I can tell you it was a pain in the azz... this takes a couple of minutes of work and is up and running. -

I just checked with Firefox on XP. This does not work. But googling the topic, I think it can be formatted to work with Firefox. I just followed the 80/20 rule -

K, you will need some kind of an extract from a data acquisition system... In my case, it's built into the system that I used for my instrumentation. The data needs to have some type of time marker. You will also need some type of synching event, which is pretty simple, like watching the MPH and video to figure out when the car moves, or engine RPM if you're starting, etc... The data needs to be formatted a specific way... I did it in Excel, and it only took a couple of minutes. Then you save the formatted file. You will need a web page (needs to be hosted) that references the video file and the formatted data file, and media player does the rest. This mechanism is designed for closed captioning, but I think it works really well for our purpose as well. You are not limited to text... I can do bars and other graphic elements, change colors, etc... If you're interested, send me a sampling of your data file for me to see how hard it would be to setup something standard. -
I was working on something COMPLETELY unrelated, when I realized I could use the same technology for my 7 addiction. This is a VERY short vid, and I know Al said not to post speeds ( :jester: ), but this is pretty , at least I think so... Clicky the linky Of course, I can add as many parameters as I want. This was just a test. I was also testing a "real" microphone. I also noticed in this vid how bright the PIAA's are  Edit: disclaimer... this may only work with Internet Explorer on a Windows machine. It requires windows media player. Might work in other browser / OS combos, but I'm not sure.

One day in the future, OJ Simpson has a heart attack and dies. He immediately goes to hell, where the devil is waiting for him. 'I don't know what to do here,' says the devil. 'You are on my list, but I have no room for you. You definitely have to stay here, so I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I've got a couple of folks here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let YOU decide who leaves.' OJ thought that sounded pretty good, so the devil opened the door to the first room. In it was Ted Kennedy and a large pool of water. Ted kept diving in, and surfacing, empty handed. Over, and over, and over he dove in and surfaced with nothing. Such was his fate in hell. 'No,' OJ said. 'I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer, and I don't think I could do that all day long.' The devil led him to the door of the next room. In it was Al Gore with a sledgehammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer, time after time after time. 'No, this is no good. I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day,' commented OJ. The devil opened a third door. Through it OJ saw Bill Clinton lying on the bed, his arms tied over his head, and his legs restrained in a spread-eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best. OJ looked at this in shocked disbelief, and finally said, 'Yeah, man, I can handle this.' The devil smiled and said... 'OK, Monica, you're free to go'

In case of Autocar, maybe that'd be a good thing

I guess reckless is the correct spelling. I'm not sure where I got wreckless from

I guess what goes around, comes around... or does it... I walked out this morning to get in the car, and saw a nail in the shoulder of one of my rear runflats :nonod:

OK... hopefully by now the whole KPH vs MPH thing has cleared up the initial misunderstanding. So, on to issues regarding the policy. Al, I agree with the need for the policy. There are a few videos I have posted which will need to be removed based on a decision here... for example, in the snowshoe blat, I pass multiple cars. I'm generally doing the speed limit, and exceed the limit to pass (I think that's allowed??? but not sure). Anyway, does that need to be removed (that's a question posed to club members in general). I disagree about not showing the speedo, even if you're not doing anything illegal. If the viewer doesn't know the speedlimit, that's their problem. If they know the speed limit, they know you're not doing anything wreckless - so a non-issue. Question is... do we draw the line at "technically illegal", such as gently rolling through a stop sign, or going over the speed limit at a "reasonable pace", or do we draw the line at wreckless behavior, such as actually racing another vehicle on the street, or going plain crazy on the road, crossing double yellows, etc... I lean towards the "wreckless" test, rather than "technically illegal" test. I think we should take reasonable measures to limit club liability, but going to the "technically illegal" standard is too much IMO. Waiting for input from others...

I'm getting a "webpage cannot be found"

[elvis voice]Thank you, Thank you very much[/elvis voice] I think the initial misunderstanding was that the vid was showing MPH, not KPH. I didn't find anything offensive. Again, there is no existing policy - something being discussed here. I think excessive speeds (i.e. multiples of speed limit, not 10 MPH over), street racing, and similar behavior should not be associated with the site or club.

Oh crap, there is  Off she goes

hmmm... just looked at GY G19 prices... looks like a set for my sizes will run about 2 grand :willy: Maybe I'll stick to the slower RA1's
-
I run just under 1 degree static camber right now. Believe it or not, I was actually running zero camber at the 7/7/7 autox because I had raised the ride height 1.5" to get the car on and off the trailer, and forgot to reset the ride height. When you say "little", does 1 degree qualify?

That's what I was looking for, and yes, I'm considering buying a 2nd set of wheels for exactly that purpose (dedicated track). As for real race tires not being available in 17" and 18" sizes, there are ALOT of vettes and vipers used for dedicated track cars. Surely they don't all run on DOT tires. Thanks for the input.

Jon, so how much of a difference is there between an RA1 and a hankook, which I assume is a slick? Is the difference as big as going from an all season radial to an R compound?
