  4. yeah,that's $$$ though, isn't it?
  5. John, the Rotus engine bay is just about perfect for a LS engine. The tranny tunnel is a little too narrow for a T56. I bet bolting on a TKO unit would fit right in. If anything, I would lower the top frame members just a couple of inches to allow the headers to come straight out of the engine
  6. honestly, i'd be happy (settle for) if the current wars were more of a focus. The general public (including me) can't tell you a single battle in any of the recent wars... It's just not covered. Every once in a while you hear a few soldiers were killed... no explanation of what they were trying to accomplish, etc... But everyone knows the up to the minute stat of what's going on with Charlie Sheen.
  7. looks like the seven is sneaking a peek
  8. LOL Arya. We must be related or something
  9. of course, with me you know a V8 will have to fit there. LOL. Arya is already itching to build one down the road, so I'm sure he could contribute to this effort...
  10. Thanks John at the very least the nose molds should be rescued. as for frames and suspension, it depends on your objectives in terms of reviving Rotus. I'm sure several other people will validate this - this business is at best a hobby unless you are going to do it at the highest levels (like Ariel, and the top 2 or 3 kit manufacturers in the US). I don't think an investor is desirable, nor needed. Investor = return with interest. If I had the choice for a clean sheet design or starting with the Rotus design - knowing what I know today, I'd probably start fresh. This is NOT a knock on Rotus. I think Chris got a lot of the basics right: Tank in front of the rear axle is a great safety feature, but at least in my car, it really limited leg room Inboard suspension - pretty nifty setup. I'm not a big fan of the cantilever design - I'd opt for pushrods. The rest of the frame design is pretty straightforward and non-controversial, so most new sevens won't be significantly different.
  11. Guys, the Rotus topic is worthy of its own thread... John or Steve, can you start one? or take to email and copy me and probably Rob too. Very worth discussing (I have given this much thought too) but I wanna keep it out of the member introduction thread.
  12. The explanation on production number is that they went by sevens for the first few cars. except mine is 2, even though it's 1 :willy_nilly:. So the first few cars are 2,7,14,21. After that, I don't know. Dennis joined the company a little later.
