  1. It's not just aero holding sevens back on straights against vipers, zr1s,etc... It's just raw power. when you're doing 160, weight doesn't matter anymore (it's not like you're accelerating at near 1 g). you just have to push through the air. sevens have poor aero, which hurts, but let's say they have aero that's equivalent to a modern car... which means slightly bigger frontal area than we have now (gotta cover the wheels), but significantly better cd. So, now, you are an equal to a modern porsche / viper / vette. except that they still have 600hp doing the work, and you're at best trying to keep up with 200-300. You will just get your azz handed to you on a long straight. The cheapest way to fix that problem is to add power. Paging Kevin
  2. we got a gift.
  3. Fly there and drive it back... let the adventure begin
  4. and, as others said, seven is not a car you want to hop in for a 12 hours drive, regardless of how reliable it is.
  5. Every seven owner I know has run out of gas at least once. Mine has been pretty reliable. I think the longest I have driven it in one trip though was something like 600 miles over 2 days. It REALLY depends on what you buy, and how carefully it was built.
  6. when I was a kid, that's ALL I did when world cup was going on... now, not into it much. I'll be pulling for team USA. Historically, I've always liked Brazil's approach to the game much more than all the European powerhouses.
  7. After 7 or 8 years and 14,000+ posts on the corvetteforum, I'm ready to move on. Not necessarily limited to car forums. I think I'm going to start with the gun hobby, so if there is an active one that's not too extreme (to the right - I doubt there will be an active gun forum to the left :smilielol5: ), I'm gonna check it out. What say you?
  8. The side view and rear quarter panels of this design are ... just WOW
  9. damn Martin, that's some bad luck. I did it by ripping my car to pieces, but the oil pan now sits flush with the frame and skin. This type of thing always worried me.

  15. TWENTY DOLLARS On their wedding night, the young bride Approached her new husband and asked For $20..00 for their first lovemaking Encounter. In his highly aroused state, Her husband readily agreed. This scenario was repeated each time they made Love, for more than 40 years, with him thinking that it was a Cute way for her to afford new clothes and other incidentals that She needed. Arriving home around noon one day, she was Surprised to find her husband in a very drunken state. During the next few minutes, he explained that His employer was going through a process of corporate Downsizing, and he had been let go. It was unlikely that, at the age of 59, he'd be able to find Another position that paid anywhere near what He'd been earning, and therefore, they were financially ruined. Calmly, his wife handed him a bank book which Showed more than forty years of steady deposits and interest totaling Nearly $1 million. Then she showed him certificates of depositsissued By the bank which were worth over $2 million, And informed him that they Were one of the largest depositors in the bank. She explained that for more than Three decades she had 'charged' him for sex, These holdings had multiplied and these were the Results of her savings and investments. Faced with evidence of cash and investments Worth over $3 million, her husband was so astounded he could Barely speak, but finally he found his voice and blurted out, 'If I'd had any idea what you were doing, I would have given you all my business!' That's when she shot him.

  20. Ken and his wife Edna went to the state fair every year, And every year Ken would say, 'Edna, I'd like to ride in that helicopter' Edna always replied, 'I know Ken, but that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, And fifty bucks is fifty bucks' One year Ken and Edna went to the fair, and Ken said, 'Edna, I'm 75 years old. If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance' To this, Edna replied, "Ken that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, and fifty bucks is fifty bucks' The pilot overheard the couple and said, 'Folks I'll make you a deal. I'll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and don't say a word I won't charge you a penny! But if you say one word it's fifty dollars.' Ken and Edna agreed and up they went. The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but not a word was heard. He did his daredevil tricks over and over again, But still not a word... When they landed, the pilot turned to Ken and said, 'By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't. I'm impressed!' Ken replied, 'Well, to tell you the truth, I almost said something when Edna fell out, But you know, "Fifty bucks is fifty bucks!'
  21. :flag: In addition to the people who gave their lives defending the country, there are so many whose lives are on hold as they serve right now. I think this summer I will take my older son to Arlington cemetery for a visit.
  22. Gary, that trailer of yours looks awesome
  23. I work in McLean, VA these days, and drive it to work whenever the weather cooperates... the down side is there is nowhere in that area to "open it up"
