  1. I imagine that page is getting hammered, cause it's not loading.
  2. welcome aboard Darren. what part of VA? I have a running LS / T56 combo, although the chassis is a one-off - a modified Rotus chassis. TKO will save you a bunch of weight, and probably some room. The engine was no problem in mine, but tranny is TIGHT. The disadvantage, as you point out, is the T56 is already in your hand, and the TKO will require some $$$. Coincidently, at Carlisle yesterday, Burton automotive had a LS3 powered Stalker. I think Dennis told me his finished car, complete with a bunch of radio equipment and roll cage (it was a customer car) was 1600 lbs, which is 150 lbs lighter than my Rotus. I suspect pretty much all of that weight is in the worst place possible in my car... wheels, tires, brakes, and axle. I'm in Maryland, so if you're in NoVA, relatively local.
  3. what an idiot. Nice way to ruin a good day. Sorry about the troubles.
  4. I see that Jon W showed up (The excellent home made Ariel Atom look-alike). Did he get there after I left? or just parked somewhere else in the field?
  5. that's great Martin. I got in Frankn7 to head to Carlisle this morning. It started spitting rain as I was putting my seat belt on . parked it and took the vette. didn't hit any more than 20 rain drops the rest of the trip. :banghead:
  6. Carlisle actually changed the format of their show a while back. They used to have imports / kit cars together. Needless to say, the import crowd was... well... different. So now, the Jap imports are no longer at Carlisle. That show actually moved somewhere else in the south. Can't remember where. That's why now when you go, you only see kit cars, retrofits, and European clubs basically.
  7. Make sure the measurement takes into account the fabric/leather, because on this style of seat, it buttons to the outside. I know they sell the Kirkey's in different widths, from 15" up.
  8. one of the charms of the car I have no top, but am leaving early to beat the rain back.
  9. heh, I just saw that. trip down memory lane.
  10. I have Kirkey's in mine now... you can sit in them tomorrow and see if they feel comfortable to you.
  11. hitch a ride with one of the NY guys tomorrow and ride out to Carlisle PA. You can meet a few of us there
  12. Scott will meet us at Shady Grove and come up to Carlisle. He may not be in his Caterham though.
  13. I'm leaving the DC area at 8:30. plan to be there around 10-10:30. I do have to leave early to get back. probably around 12:30 to 1. I will not be able to bring the BBQ grill around this time

  15. Jeff Duncan said he can't make it. Michael D might make it, but he will be in Baltimore in the morning, so he won't blat with us. I'll check with Scott Lentz tomorrow. I can't remember if Dermot is coming.

  17. lol. I've gotten used to flying my Stryker and electric glider. Tried my hand at a Corsair in more wind than I had business flying in. Waiting for parts to arrive now.

  21. well, I look at it more often than anyone, and it's pretty bad  The fact that the hood just ends at the windshield right now, and I can't get off my azz to make a cowl for it, bugs me. But every night, I either have side work to do, or have to work on getting my fleet of planes running from the previous weekend's carnage. It's much harder to get motivated to work on the car when it drives fine.
