  1. omg... that looked so slow on video and felt so fast in person.... also it does not show the super fun slide i did all around that turn at the very back of the track. the tires are brabus crapers... no name brand summer tire they are not sticky for the track but with the price of wheels/ tires im not sure it i can do ti this season. the first thing i really need to do is my exhaust because its very restricted and is LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUD. keeping it down the center channel is a challenge and will cost me $1500-2000 depending on how big a paint it is for the installer. thanks again for the help and hints from the old school guys. if not for guys like tom, i would have not broken 70 sec that whole day!! also regarding the 8 runs... i had so much fun in the AM i asked about running PM. they said since i was not running for times that it would be ok plus pm only cost $20. i would have run all 4 sessions if they let me!
  2. thanks a lot for the help guys. this seems to be a bit more involved then i thought. i dont have a welder at my garage (nor do i know how to weld) so fabing up brackets wont work. any bushings or hardware meant for my seats is gone thanks to yet again , the PO. regarding this pic, the bolts on the sides of the seats stick out and i already have trouble fitting the seats in my car. if i have any hardware i flat out wont be able to fit it in (pass side is 16" seat). http://www.usa7s.org/aspnetforum/upload/2107963406_seat05.jpg rv-4mike, if you can shoot some pics of your mounting that would help a lot. Thanks again guys.
  3. add says manual... but dont see a gear shifter??
  4. i just checked tire rack for comp/dot tires and the only thing in my size 215/40/17 front 225/40/17 rear cost 237 EACH!! thats a little rich to me right now. im going to work on getting new exhaust work done first.
  5. "will be a force to recond with once he gets the suspension set up" currently not sure how to setup the suspension. i did notice it was better in the turns when rear is set softer but with only one run its hard to tell... i wish i could just do laps around that track for an hour while tweaking it. "We did one 360 and stayed on course and then he proceeded to power oversteer all the way around the turnaround sweeper" this was the most entertaining part of the track for me. just a little throttle and i feel like i can "tokyo dift" the car around the turn. its a really strange but cool sensation. later i was told that this was not the proper way to get around the turn. the proper way is to go in slow keeping traction and exiting fast without sliding about. "There are plenty of competitors that will give you their suggestions for improvement in both your set up and driving,if you ask them" everyone there was super helpful and i loved hearing their tips / tricks . next time i will have to play with tire pressure and a few other things i learned about. "I bet his face hurts right now from smiling so much" yes my face hurts from smiling, mostly because i never thought i would be able to make it through that field of cones and gates without going OC every time. it also hurts because its about as red as the usa7s logo on the top of the page.
  6. YOU FORGET TO PUT ON SUNBLOCK!!! So i went to my first autox today in warminster pa at the old air field. i had an absolute blast. i was guided by Tom (yellowss7) and an instructor in the morning and by afternoon i was doing well. times were (in sec) am session 75 72 69 71 (hit cone and spun) pm session 69 69 68 65 i think Tom ran in the low 50's the entire day the rear end kept trying to come out but no matter how much i tried to feather the gas (i can only image the sliding without lsd in the rear) it still crept out and i was drifting through the turns. the car was on street tires (no name brand) so i could have picked up a few sec on slicks. im not sure if im going to be buying slicks soon because i want to get used to controlling the car when its very sensitive like it is now. a few autox like this and ill run slicks. then ill be gunning for you Tom :jonautox: . i was told to soften up the suspension (dampening adjustable coilovers) before my last pass to help with the over steer problem and it made a big difference. i look forward to the next event!!!
  7. i finally got in my ultrashieldsa nd 5 point harnesses and now im not to sure how they mount. the seat is supposed to be on an tilt but how would it mount then? could a few of the wcm owners grace me with pics of the seat install, under the padding bolt hole pics, under the car mounting pics. anything would help. Roman
  8. so sad... hope its staying local
  9. fuse? btw i just emailed you with some questions! L8r
  10. CONGRATS! If im lucky i too will be gettin gmy ultralite... back from the tuner with a fresh hydra ecm install.
  11. this is the image that got me sold on 7's. http://www.mjswebgallery.com/carz/images/Caterham%20CSR17.jpg
  12. looks rather simple to toss back together! guy would have probably gotten more money if he CLEANED it all up at least.
  13. i thought i was new.. but now its hard to keep track of the NEWER people!
  14. i just ordered a set of ultrashield pro drag seats. they are nice because they already have a mold form wcm ultralite so they cut 6" off the top so it wont look all tall and goofy. seats and harness 5 point fia with cam lock were $800 shipped for driver and pass including covers!!!
  15. thanks very much for the offer! at this point i dont think a trailer will help. the tuner will need the car to be able to drive in order to do the work to it. so this leaves me high and dry until brian at wcm can help me out with the parts. once its together i will drive it down, or trailer if in the case of bad weather.
  16. for the show the car was actually 1 inch lower and it did not rub. the rear wheels camber in as the suspension compresses and the dampening adjustable coilovers are set fairly firm to keep me from chewing tires.
  17. so i'm sure may of you have seen my post about the show/gtg on the 30th. in case any of you missed my seven here is a short rundown of what happened. long story short. wake up ~> wash car ~> pack car to make 2 hr trip from show to tuner (later in the day) ~> pull out of garage ~> find car wont accelerate after 1/4 mile (fear clutch went bad) ~> limp to garage ~> find one of the axles (driver) has crept out of the rear (don't know how or why but it has horizontal play but glad its not clutch) ~> quickly remove the driver side knuckle to investigate and slap off a brake line fitting in the process ~> scream, curse, throw various tools across the garage ~> get to the show in the wagon at 2pm now i don't know how/when i will be able to get the car to the tuner because i have no trailer and it will rain for the next week. this means there is NO way i will make the April 20th autox in warminster and i would be VERY grateful to make the may 4th autox. i think they call this Jewish luck?

  19. a little late on the notice so i posted here. last year we held this event at Buck County Community College but we have out grown that lot. if this is anything like the last two years you will see a handful of Ferrari's, Porsche club, BMW club, tons of modified and classic EUROPEAN machines. i will be bringing my Se7en and my wagon. hope to see some of you there! http://www.blowneuroz.com/ptgallery/BlownEuroz/flyer2008sm.jpg

  22. ill take a pic of my current setup today to give you guys an idea of my space as well as the completed work. i think this may be possible for all sevens.
  23. money i dont think i will be saving.. i estimate spending $1200 on parts/labor on this venture
  24. no coffee cans here... you may be looking at the tips which are 3". in person they are no THAT big. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In other news, i think i may have found the solution to my exhaust problem. I will be keeping the rear exit but i will be rebuilding the system with 2.5" from the header. i will be using oval tube (http://www.drgas.com/store/home.php?cat=8) in order to keep this stuff in the frame or worst case no lower then the oilpan. i will end up using 2 magnaflow or borla muffers at the which will be on their sides for clearance. now to just find someone willing to build this exhaust for me...
  25. my exhaust does not run on over the rear axel, it comes right out of the center channel. http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/3289/cimg1146resizebu5.jpg
