  1. sorry guys, i was away for the week. the material i used is called "stayfast". its extremely common in convertible top shops.
  2. i have actually picked up several blades since this post. love it!
  3. "no replacement for displacement" is often countered by boost, weight reduction, and aerodynamics. if by some miracle i get a bunch more track time before next event i may toss on that supercharger i have on the shelf and try to chase after you!
  4. i just replaced that bolt. you can find it at fastenal. they com in a pack of 5. dont have the part number on hand though...
  5. so, i just looked at the pics i took with my phone and they are all blurry.. if anyone has pics/video of me/my car (black wcm ultralite) please post up or pm me. ive deleted everything at this point...
  6. this was a fantastic event. tom and mike made everything run flawlessly. i would say this was a 4-5 star event! i enjoyed being out in my car on the track for the first time since i got it about 7 years ago. regarding the spins, yes i was head gardener on friday, i counted 7 offs. like a few others, this was mostly due to the swamp at turn 7. i would also like to point out that this was only in the wet, on old street tires. once i put the fresh slicks on saturday i was able to start chasing down the big boys while having 0 spins. as a final note, mike, im so sorry to take this prestigious award away from you . perhaps next year you will reclaim it.
  7. loading the 7 on the dolly now. hope to be there round 4ish?
  8. finally got my new fenders, brackets, etc on and installed! looks im good to go to register.
  9. paid well over $300 for these guys and then i had to powder coat them for another $100. these are incredibly strong and wont crack like the factory front brackets. these replicate the fitment of factory brackets. im replacing these with a custom set made for me by a local to fit a specific wheel. asking $300 shipped. you can kind of see them here. http://i.imgur.com/Hm3Q0l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/1RtIRDgl.jpg
  10. i was sure there were other tours or groups going there that i missed. o well...
  11. i dont know how i miss this event every freaken year!
  12. this is a sad year. hardly any locals showing up at cars and coffee as well... why is everyone hiding?
  13. was looking for SE7EN in pa but its taken so i ordered myself "SUPER 7". i know... not very creative.
  14. always pull plugs when motor is hot, or at least break them free when hot. if they are in there and corroded you risk snapping them.
  15. very good info. trying to get all the odds and ends buttoned up so i dont get any surprises when i come in!
  16. thanks for the help guys. looking for the most affordable option right now. another question... where can i leave the car when its not being driven?
  17. so the spot i was looking to stay in during this trip is actually unavailable. anyone have any spare space for a guy and his car? me and the car take little space
  18. mike, i keep accidentally dialing you for some reason!i deleted the entry from my phone so it wont auto dial in any case.
  19. lol, this sounds like my trip to Carlisle.
  20. so the slicks and new fender brackets are on! tested them in the auto x today and everything feels perfect. info sent in!
  21. Duane, thanks for the info. i am a member of both boards and spend more time reading there than i should. i have contacted a few gents from the boards and they are offering honing services on whatever razor i choose. also they have stated that NEW razors will still need to be honed as they get dull from oxidation of the thin metal as opposed to use. at that point i would rather go for a cool vintage blade (if possible).
