  1. optima is terrible now. i had no issues when they were all the rage back in the day.
  2. i use the 625 and 680 here both 7+ years and counting.
  3. so i check my springs, the hyperco i have are 220lb in the rear. i cant find a tag for the fronts and can i find a receipt for them. for some reason i think they are 250...
  4. o man, i had those aldan shocks. i removed them because they were terrible... if your interested in the ARS system let me know and ill give you my info. they should be able to make a setup using my measurements that they already have.
  5. i have advanced racing suspension shocks on my car. they are adjustable in rebound or dampening. worth the money. they also offer fairly cheap re-valving if need be. also if you call you can reach the person who actually worked on your shocks within minutes. each shock you get also comes complete with dyno paperwork
  6. saw this at Carlisle as well. VERY VERY nice trailer.
  7. i think my vehicle is finally in good enough shape that i think i can make this happen! saving the date!
  8. Just going to pop in here for a quick sec. I run VW TDI specific shop here in PA and ive seen my customers tow all sorts of things. Some tow in the golf on a tow dolly pulled by their jetta... The vw diesels are amazing vehicles and the book "specs" for towing are VERY under rated. That being said i would always recommend a properly balanced trailer as not to put to much weight on the hitch and to use trailer brakes (electrical). If im lucky ill find a pic of my own 2001 golf towing another golf (or corrado?) about 7 years ago. As a side note. The TDI cars we get here in the states are tuned DOWN. A software reflash can have increases of 25% in power and a small INCREASE in fuel econ. If you have TDI related questions feel free to message me.
  9. dont know how much it will affect but i do run a 245/40/18 in the rear. next warm day i have ill take the car out and use the gps to give me a accurate speed reading
  10. check here quick check turns this up 003 Carrier Subaru Forester 121K,1 YEAR WARRANTY Rear; AT (4.444 ratio), locking (XS model) A GG059 $63 Borges Foreign Auto USA-MA(Dighton) Request_Quote 1-800-662-6150 more here. http://car-part.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?userSearch=int&userPID=1000&userLocation=All+States&userIMS=&userInterchange=BEFB%3E&userSide=&userDate=2003&userDate2=2003&dbModel=70.3.1.1&userModel=Subaru%20Forester&dbPart=440.1&userPart=Carrier%20(see%20also%20Differential)&sessionID=200000000000000000638227169&userPreference=price&userZip=19040&userLat=40.177&userLong=-75.1061&userIntSelect=507904&userUID=0&userBroker=&iKey=&userPage=17 mind you with the 4:11 your at 3000rpm at 60mph. i personally would like a taller 6th gear so i could have a low cruising rpm like i had with my 3:54. this is why i did not opt for the 4:44, though i may buy one for the future.
  11. hello, the rear i got was a 4:11. i paid $50 for it from a salvage yard. i found it via car-part.com . if you input the model (say 07 legacy) it will bring up all the models that cross reference for you. btw, my car runs FANTASTIC with the 4:11.
  12. ultrashield makes a seat specifically for the wcm s2k. its a spec miata seat but with a lower back so it does not stick out like the kirkey seats you see around. they are VERY affordable and have seat covers if you like. if your local your welcome to jump into my car and feel my 15" seat.
  13. burnout... if 1 tread no lsd. if 2, then lsd.
  14. Caterham RST-V8 not only a v8, but supercharged http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/News/Search-Results/First-Official-Pictures/Caterham-RST-V8-Levante/
  15. congrats and welcome. i was actually looking at a z4 mcoupe in trade for my wcm ultralite at one time. very glad i stayed with it!
  16. when i searched for a rear it was one that came up locally. it may very well be a 07 legacy? all i know for sure is that its supposed to be compatible, 4.11, and locking.
  17. the first diff was messed up because the original owner stripped out the bolt holes and cracked the rear cover. i was stupid and replaced it even though all it needed was the diff cover in the back. this diff keeps spitting the driver side axle out and makes a lot of metal inside. steve, im dying to come to the meets. i just cant show my face without my car... hopefully i will have it up and running soon.
  18. third rear going in the car tomorrow. now a 4.11 (old was 3.55) dont know what the heck was going on with the first two but hopefully this will be sorted as ill be going over the rear prior to install. new rear coming. its from a 07 forester, locking lsd rear. im looking at various 75w90 gl-5 fluids. anyone have any options they want to point out? im looking at motul, liqui moly, eneos, and redline.
  19. did not know that. well sounds like a great weekend!
  20. i think having an unofficial autox would open up way to much liability for those running the show.
  21. thanks for the reply. i do understand how some misaligned parts could create a PULL on the axle that would pop it out. im my can just rolling down the driveway will pull the axle out. that being said nothing has changed in my rear suspension in the last 3-4 years short of an added diff brace. in regards to the circlip, my understanding is on the LSD diffs the clip stays inside the diff. my clip is still in its proper slot in the diff. i am wondering if i do need to just remove and bend it back into a better shape to hold the axle. since the rear is still in i may do that. now to figure out how to get the clip out...
  22. yea i read that thread ages ago when i had my diff out before. no real answers, just a bunch of people voting on where the circlip stays... guess ill take the rear out today.
