Since it is a real one with an ali body, it should be polished to a mirror finish. Then it would be stunningly beautiful.

I hear taping a couple of those cow magnets to your fuel line will double your gas mileage. Another one on the oil filter and your engine will last forever. Both were urban legends long before the internet became available to all of us.

I found a comparison picture. http://forum.miata.net/vb/showpost.php?p=4328382&postcount=39

I don't have any statistics on output but the difference when I upgraded the Miata years ago was very noticeable. Besides being brighter, there is the European style cutoff of light on low beams that you see as a sharp line across the car in front of you with a raised wedge on the right to illuminate road side signs. On high beams you get a better illumination of the whole road and it extends further out. Since installing them on the Miata in place of the standard halogen sealed beam units I have never considered any other upgrade. If you want more light than the 55/65 watt H4 bulbs provide, there are 80/100 watt H4 bulbs available for about $10 each at Checker and other parts stores which usually come with a For Off Road Use Only warning on them. I put a set of the 80/100 bulbs in my Civic which I thought had very poor headlights and they fixed the problem.

Flyin Miata is having a group buy on these headlights. They are the standard 7" headlights with H4 bulbs. Far superior to the standard halogens many cars come with. They are on sale for $49.95 for a pair. I ordered a set as spares for my Miata which has been running e-codes for years. http://www.flyinmiata.com/groupbuy/ They need 50 sets sold to go through with the buy, 32 have already been sold in the first day. I assume they will purchase more than 50 sets if the need arises. They do not charge your credit card until the minimum number have been sold. I have no fiduciary interest in Flyin Miata and am getting nothing for posting this. Its just too good a deal to pass up if you have a car with round 7" headlights.

Although not an event just for Se7ens, the Colorado English Motoring Conclave is held in September. One day of driving in the mountains and another of a car show with about 500 cars. Here's a link to the ad for last years event. http://www.thecoloradoconclave.com/pages/welcome.htm Then there is the 58th Annual MG Car Club Rallye to Glenwood Springs, June 11 - 13, 2010. All British cars are welcome. http://mgcc.org/glenwood2010/2010pressrelease.pdf If you get to the Denver area, we have great Se7ens roads and about 10 - 12 Se7ens in the area. We'll get some together and head for the mountains and have a mini-event. You are welcome to stay over at my home while in the area.

Has anyone any experience/knowledge of these tires? Sounds almost too good to be true. http://www.cambertire.com/

Most of the models were from the Franklin Mint. He did modify a few of them for his photos. What is really interesting is that in the dioramas only some of the buildings are models. Some buildings and all the trees, fences and such in the background are real with the diorama set up on a table and positioned to make the background come into scale with the cars and model buildings.

With the change in national needs resulting in the bungling of the Bush administration and the resulting realignment of budget priorities outlined in his recent State of the Union address the president has declared that he will be refocusing the efforts of NASA for the next great observatory. This project will rely on proven technologies thus reducing costs involved with unproven concepts and developmental expenditures as the nation shifts much of NASA’s traditional roles to the civilian sector. Vice President Biden stated that the project will not require the use of heavy lift vehicles due to its unique configuration allowing the termination of the Ares launch vehicle. House Chairwoman Pelosi commented that it was high time that the US science community concentrated on the immediately achievable and not waste valuable resources needed to rebuild main street USA on blue sky programs that traditionally run over budget and are behind schedule. Chinese prime minister Wen Jiabao applauded this move stating that it will help to assure the safety of China’s 1 trillion dollar investment in the US and they will change the focus of their own space program as a result. In related news the State Department announced that discussions are under way that will hopefully deed the US portion of the ISS to China as a partial repayment of the Chinese loans. Senate Majority Leader Reid observed that he didn’t know why scientists were so interested in finding life on other planets. He made the point that we have enough problems with aliens within our borders already and absorbing any more of them would present challenges we simply aren’t ready to consider at this time.

I was hoping this was going to settle the bit about having enough down force to enable a car to drive upside down on the top of the tunnel, not just do a barrel roll. Did you catch the link to when Top Gear tried it in a sewer tunnel? It was just under the above video. http://www.flixxy.com/renault-twingo-city-car-test-drive.htm Clarkson did it at 37 mph without a ramp in an Renault Twingo. Car came off the tunnel after about 270 degrees of rotation but still landed on its wheels without a crash.

BANK LOAN A cowboy from Sweetwater , Texas walked into a bank in New York City and asked for the loan officer. He told the loan officer that he was going to Paris for an international cowboy festival for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000 and that he was not a depositor of the bank. The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan, so the cowboy handed over the keys to a new Ferrari parked in front of the bank. The cowboy produced the title and everything checked out. The loan officer agreed to hold the car as collateral for the loan and apologized for having to charge 12% interest. Later, the bank's president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the cowboy from the south for usinga $250,000 Ferrari as collateral for a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank's private underground garage and parked it. Two weeks later, the cowboy*returned repaid the $5,000 and the interest of $23.07. The loan officer said, 'Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out on Dunn & Bradstreet and found that you are a Distinguished Alumni From Texas A&M, a highly sophisticated investor and Multi-Millionaire with real estate and financial interests all over the world. Your investments include a large number of wind turbines around Sweetwater, Texas . What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?' The good 'ole Texas cowboy replied, 'Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $23.07 and expect it to be there when I return?'

Mike, I remember seeing your Elise and I think someone may have introduced us at one of the track days. Just no way to make the connection from that to meeting you on this forum. Do you also have a Miata? Between LOCO, Peak to Peak, the Z Car club, CECA and Judy Fasst we have far more track opportunities this year than last.

Marine7, Welcome aboard. Lots of new people showing up today. Welcome to all of you. Where in the Rockies is the Birkin headed to? If it is the Denver area please put the owner in touch with me, assuming the new owner is willing.

A man walks into a restaurant with a full-grown ostrich behind him. The waitress asks them for their orders. The man says, 'A hamburger, fries and a coke,' and turns to the ostrich, 'What's yours?' 'I'll have the same,' says the ostrich. A short time later the waitress returns with the order 'That will be $9.40 please,' and the man reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change for payment. The next day, the man and the ostrich come again and the man says, 'A hamburger, fries and a coke.' The ostrich says, 'I'll have the same.' Again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change. This becomes routine until the two enter again. 'The usual?' asks the waitress. 'No, this is Friday night, so I will have a steak, baked potato and a salad,' says the man. 'Same,' says the ostrich. Shortly the waitress brings the order and says, 'That will be $32.62.' Once again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table. The waitress cannot hold back her curiosity any longer. 'Excuse me, sir. How do you manage to always come up with the exact change in your pocket every time?' 'Well,' says the man, 'several years ago I was cleaning the attic and found an old lamp. When I rubbed it, a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes. My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there.' 'That's brilliant!' says the waitress. 'Most people would ask for a million dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you want for as long as you live!' 'That's right. Whether it's a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there,' says the man.. The waitress asks, 'What's with the ostrich?' The man sighs, pauses and answers, 'My second wish was for a tall chick with a big ass and long legs who agrees with everything I say.'

With all the high voltage switching going on in the controllers it might affect the 12 volt current in the lighter socket unless the accessories are on a completely isolated system. Might give some weird gear change sounds.

After basic turns, parallel parking, regular parking, "chicken" driving, tailgating, etc, they teach changing a tire. YouTube - Hyundai driving school You have to wonder how many cars were harmed in the preparation leading up to this video.

Tonight was the monthly meeting of Lotus Colorado (LOCO). The meeting was hosted by Ferrari of Denver (FOD) which is also a Lotus, Bentley and Lamborghini dealership. Not a normal venue for us as we usually meet at a restaurant. The Lotus rep for the western half of the country was there along with a number of the FOD staff. He mentioned that he had just finished 12,500 miles in one of two Lotus Evoras in the country visiting Lotus dealers in his region for show and tell events for the dealers and customers. He said the car performed flawlessly and he was on his own with no support vehicles. Free drinks and hors d'oeuvres were served along with a short presentation from the dealer and the Lotus rep. We also had a short business meeting for the club. Two representatives of the Ferrari club were there and invited us to their annual Enzo's Birthday Party, the first time they have ever invited another car club to join them. Before and after that we were allowed to wander around the show room and shop. The place was packed with cars to drool over. There were two used F355s up on lifts getting prepped for sale as used cars, $20k being spent on one and $22k on the other for engine out services, new clutches and a few other things. The manager explained that they sell only the very best used cars and this is why their prices are generally 10 - 20% above the market. My favorite car of the evening was the evil black Bentley Supersports. Twin turbo V-12 with 620 HP, all wheel drive. 0 - 60 in 3.7 seconds and 60 - 0 in 106 feet. Pretty impressive performance for a 5,000 lb car. It is the lightweight version of the coupe and doesn't have a back seat. The brakes are massive. Below are some pictures of the Bentley and some of the other cars in the showroom and shop. There was a 1927 Cadillac V-8 in the shop undergoing a complete restoration. Not something you would expect in a Ferrari dealership but we were told that one of their better Ferrari customers brings them one restoration project per year. There were a number of Rolls Royces also in their shop for maintenance and repairs even though they are not a Rolls dealer.

I saw it in 3D and IMAX a couple of weeks ago and loved it. However I experienced a bit of headache and nausea during and after the movie. Last night on the TV news there was a segment on Avatar and other 3D movies causing those very symptoms in about 10% of the people surveyed. Probable cause is less than 20/20 vision in both eyes (corrected). I guess that means I need to get an eye exam and new lenses. I plan to see it again whether or not I get new glasses.
