  1. The panels are sandwiched between the frame rail and the lower side panel. It takes a little upward force and back and forth motion to get them out of there.
  2. From that prior thread the Wolo LBT-10 seems to be the one of choice but when I clicked on the link I got an encaged shop light. Looking around on the Wolo page didn't yield any results either. Can someone post a link to it?
  3. Be careful when pulling the panels out. The hot wire for the headlights got caught between the panel and the inside of the body panel, shorted to ground and fried some wires under the dash. Disconnect the battery first.
  4. Good looking Birkin S3 but I don't see anything in the pictures to indicate the engine is supercharged. The throttle bodies are open to atmosphere. Maybe I am missing something, if so please enlighten me.
  5. Just for fun.
  6. The valets will be test driving your car behind your back. Expect donuts and damage. I would NEVER let anyone drive my Seven without me being in the passenger seat and a trusted friend in the driver seat. Not even to park the car.
  7. An official trailer has been released for the movie which opens in September. This movie is based on the Lauda/Hunt battle up through the ranks and into Formula 1. *Rush* - Official Trailer (2013) - Chris Hemsworth Racing Movie - YouTube One of our LOCO's (Lotus Colorado) Lotus cars is in the movie and he did the on track driving disguised as Hunt (the Shunt). IIRC his car is a Formula 3 Lotus.
  8. In addition to the issues addressed above, I would be very concerned if the only place to park my Seven was in a parking garage. The temptation for vandalism, theft and just plain climbing in to try it on for size by anyone who has access to the garage would be a deal breaker for me.
  9. Here's some video of the actual record setting pit stop and some practice runs. Race: Red Bull Racing Record F1 Pitstop 2.05 Seconds 201 - YouTube Red Bull, con 2:05 segundos pulveriza el record de McLaren en Boxes - YouTube Practice:
  10. I think not so much easier but certainly much safer.

  12. The text says he is in a Lancia but those stickers sure look like Ferrari. Edit: Wiki says that the car was rebadged as the Lancia-Ferrari D50 and later simply the Ferrari D50. http://thechicaneblog.com/2013/04/06/onboard-with-fangio-at-monaco/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed:+TheChicane+%28The+Chicane%29
  13. They're in a corner, the CSR is about to pass the Lambo. Speaking of Lambos, a purple metallic Diablo showed up at our C & C this morning. Turns out it is the car driven by Angelina Jolie in the Gone in 60 Seconds movie. We christened it Pimp Purple. The owner has 10 Lambos and 41 other cars in his personal fleet. Croc may remember the black Countach that showed up for the drive when he was here picking up his CSR a couple of years ago, same owner.
  14. Duane, What is MOPAC? Will that work as an oil catch can? I've been looking for something to replace the cobbled up plastic bottle on my car.
  15. Martin Brundle takes one for some laps at the factory. http://www.windingroad.com/articles/blogs/video-how-to-drive-a-formula-1-car/?utm_campaign=Weekly+Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_source=email-94
  16. If you are putting the diff in a Caterham you can now use the BMW 1 series diffs. Caterham makes a cradle that will mount the BMW diff as a bolt in. You will need to modify the drive shaft and halfshafts to match. Apparently the Sierra differentials are no longer being produced and Caterham now supplies their kits with the BMW diffs and cradle. However, it may be that the BMW diff will not work in place of the 7" Sierra diff. Jon at Caterham USA can probably tell you if it will work.
  17. I have one of those, 14 x 7. It has the V-nose and holds a Se7en easily and a spare set of tires. Tools and jack go in the back of the Ram 1500 with a lockable shell. It works well for track days and for travel. I can fit a Miata in there but it is tight and I have to climb out over the doors. Prior to that I had an 8 x 16' enclosed trailer, standard height. Towing gas mileage went from 7 - 8 mpg with the big trailer to 11 mpg with the Haulmark LoHauler. It would get better but I tend to cruise at 75 - 80 mph with the trailer. Only down side is it take awhile to get used to the lower interior height, I suffered a few bumps to the skull before I got used to it. The Haulmark is the 5th trailer I've owned and the one I will keep. It is 20" lower in overall height and tows beautifully.
  18. Great vintage video. Dodging traffic as this is a day before the race and the public is using the road. Note all the trees right on the edge of the track. Mike Hawthorn(Lemans winner 1955) driving a preview lap on the Lemans track in a Jaguar.(1956!) on Vimeo
  19. How do you steer the T-bone? I can't see any mechanism connected to the front forks nor anything resembling a handlebar.
  20. I had my splash guards sprayed with bed liner. I also had the underside of all four fenders sprayed at the same time to prevent star cracks. The splash shields still look good after 15k miles.
  21. You would need adapters, your Caterham has a 4 x 4 1/4" bolt circle.
  22. If it was American made it may be in here: http://www.lov2xlr8.no/broch1.html
  23. Jeff Skiles and Sully Sullenberger take you inside the cockpit of Historical Flight Foundation's DC-7B as they learn to fly the vintage airliner and earn their second-in-command type ratings. http://marcbrecy.perso.neuf.fr/DC7.html
  24. Great video of a still functioning machine shop right out of the 1920s. http://www.youtube.com/embed/BckZ4i1BzF0?feature=player_embedded
  25. Motorcycle helmets have different padding and are not fire proofed like car helmets. They are also tested for different kinds of impacts.
