Ross Robbins is a member of LOCO (Lotus Colorado) who is famous for his road trips in Lotus cars. He has just published a book titled Road Trip! and I can highly recommend it.
His adventures include fashioning a fan belt out of a bungee cord in the middle of Nevada on US 50, well known as the Loneliest Road in America to keep his Lotus 7 running long enough to make it to the next town.
The book is available at Amazon for $9.95.

That means your helmet can be two ratings older than the current (SA2010) generation. i.e. SA2010 is current, but SA2005 and SA2000 are still allowed. When SA2015 comes out, SA2000 helmets will no longer be allowed.
Here is more history and a picture under the hood.

I don't think the difference between 40 & 45 will make much difference in the ride. It is more dependent on sidewall stiffness and overall construction.
I run 225/40-16 Toyo T1Rs all around on my Miata and the ride is quite comfortable even with the stiff springs and shocks. I don't like the T1Rs for their ability to flat spot after sitting only a few hours. After a day or two without being driven it takes 5 - 10 miles of thumping before they become round again. When the lift is not in use for other work, the Miata sits on it a few inches off the ground when not being driven.
My Caterham came from the factory with 205/40-16 (or it might have been /45) Avon ZZX (?) tires. It handled well on those but changing to 205/50-15 front and 225/50-15 R-888's made a noticeable improvement in ride and handling.
Great video. The last thing I expected was a lap on a race track after that great run up the twisty rally road. What fun!
That photographer on the outside of an off camber curve was really pushing his luck.
Temp hit 62F today and we went for a blat. Engine is smoother and quieter than before the valve job. When we got back I ran a compression test and the two low cylinders were right back up there with the other two. That makes for a smoother engine.
We stayed in Marina up the coast about 20 miles from Monterey. Getting in and out of Monterey was never a problem and there is a back road to Laguna Seca that avoids the traffic until you get to the track. It worked out well and IIRC we paid about $110 per night at http://www.booking.com/hotel/us/best-western-beach-dunes-inn.en-us.html?aid=336408;label=marina-kjgHqc1X1Eg4ofUveQhOGwS25829035307%3Apl%3Ata%3Ap15%3Ap2%3Aac%3Aap1s1%3Anes;sid=9673d95fd34d9c6731d1cc51e18438cd;dcid=1;srfid=89e2699bdf683094e1cbbbe3722bff62a852e39fX1.
After being down for a few weeks, I started the engine again today for the first time after doing a valve job and a few other small things. It was snowing this evening so I didn't take her out for a blat :driving: but its supposed to hit 60F by Wednesday and 70F by Friday!:hurray:
I'm even further away than Taber but if you happen to be traveling to or thru Denver you are welcome to sit in my SV and go for a ride, perhaps even drive it. You could also make a visit to Caterham USA while in the area.
There was an article the other day (http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/porsche-admits-manual-gearbox-could-die-20130214-2efl8.html) that stated that the only reason Porsche still offers any manuals at all is that the US market demands them. Without us there would be no more MT Porsches at all. Ferrari has already gone to all flappy paddles.

I also have the Caterham struts on my SV. I can't tell any difference in the way the car drives but I don't worry about the 265 lb ft torque tearing things up any more.
There is some Seven content and it is a fantastic video.
