250 Was their promise/claim so bang on the money then. There is no doubt in my mind it's more than enough !

Hi there, I followed a similar route as you and ended up with a New Raceline Zetec, I went for the 250 HP option which when run on the dyno actually topped out at 261 at the crank, attached are the dyno results. I decided not to use the Omex ECU as I wanted to use paddle shifters and the choices were Omex ECU with a geartronics GCU piggybacking on it or using an ECU that had the facility for real timed and monitored closed loop flat shifting, I finally went for the MBE9A9 ECU with a pneumatic shift as I hope that a single unit rather that two separate (ECU & GCU) will be more reliable with one less point of failure, the whole thing is a little complex but not so hard to figure once you get into it and the software they (SBD) use to map is pretty easy to understand. I cant speak to the harness needs of the Omex, but for the MBE I had to make an entire new harness, which was, errr.... time consuming and expensive ! I leaned heavily on Andy Jupp at PGM motorsports in the UK for that he was really good and very attentive to the details, I attached the as built version of the harness below if you're interested. Overall I am really happy with Raceline, they can be a little slow to respond to emails so I always called Chris or Peter if I had questions and they were super helpful. In the end I have what I wanted. I expect to finally have the whole ensemble on track in March so then I will really know if I chose wisely or not. Either way I am in the same boat as you, I will never get my money back if I sold it, but I did not build it for that, I plan to track the tires off it for years to come. Good luck with the re-build. These seats are likely sold. Thanks to everyone for the interest. If the sale does not happen as its pending a fit check. I'll re-post. Bart

I have a pair of brand new, never installed Tillett B6 C/GRP size 40 seats that I will not be using as I have decided to go down the poured bead seat route. They have the cut down side option and are bottom mounted. They currently retail in the US around $1200 ea. Happy to find a home for any reasonable offer.

Hey, that sucks, CET exams are more likely in LTL where you share the container with other importers as any slip up in paperwork will more likely trigger the algorithm to alert CBP to make the inspection, there is no good news as the CES is a bit of a black hole, most often, at least in my experience in NYC and BAL its a week or more before you get any information back, they are not very effective communicators unfortunately, but at least you will share the cost of the transport to and from the CES with the other importers in your container. The other thing is that anecdotally I have heard that Automotive parts and assemblies are more often inspected than say ping pong balls as there is a ton more legal use requirements on Automotive. Anyhow good luck, I am sure you'll get there soon.

Hi John, Nott sure if you have seen the one made by Westermann for the Duratec? Mine is a different thread but I believe the Duratec is this type. https://westermann-motorsport.com/en/produkte/duratec-23-24-25-filler-cap

Not sure if it's relevant for you, but I had clearance issues when installing my Zetec with the Raceline BDA style cam covers, the Oil filler cap which from raceline is a standard ford plastic job with a fancy aluminum cover stuck to it was too proud and the hood rested on it. I resolved it by making a replacement filler cap that is very low profile indeed and gave me back 5-6mm. Bart.

Hey Carl, Sorry to hear about your wife sounds nasty. Dan is a super guy you'll be happy with the results I am sure. Cheers.

Sometimes it just takes a while. I finally got my super expensive custom oil filler cap as shown in the photos made better than I can draw it! I have not tried it for size yet but I am confident it will work as planned. Today I also have the tracking number for the wiring loom that was made by PGM in the UK, it's been a long - long wait but now its on its way stateside, hopefully if the customs gods smile on me I will have it in my hands next week it only took 9 months PGM were great to work with but problems with parts shortages just kept pushing it back. I am very excited to get this project moving, I have been looking at a pile of parts for so long its not funny, new engine, sadev gearbox, tractive suspension, pneumatic paddle-shift, fuel cell, roll cage, seats, MBE ECU, Aim system, Accusump, oil cooler, radiator, calipers, wheels, tires on and on and on ...... Time to make this pile of parts a car

I got an Atlas Garage Pro 8000 4 post lift last June and I love it. It came to $2883.43 delivered. I assembled myself without help, which, to be honest was a bit of a challenge as it comes flat packed and each section in darn heavy, but with an engine hoist, a few furniture dollies and a bit of swearing I got in into the garage and assembled. I chose to have the 120v pump and I have not had any issues with it at all. I am not lifting and lowering multiple times a day though. Its a simple setup, 1 large hydraulic ram some steel cables and pulleys and that's it, it does have the safety interlocks so my usual process is to raise the car to the height I want then lower and allow the locks on each corner to engage. I will never go back, being able to stand under the car to attend to whatever issues and with the added benefit of having two cars in one spot is great. I keep the Caterham on the floor and my Europa on the lift and switch out as needed.

Hi there, Just PM'd you on this.

Tank is now sold B
-
The Tank is +/- 32x10x10 and about 12lbs. That should be good enough to get an estimate from UPS for the shipping. Bart.

I have a fuel tank complete with pump and sender that came out of an S3. I replaced it with a fuel cell so now it is surplus. If anyone is interested LMK. No idea what it's worth so any reasonable offer accepted. Bart.

@knifeyspoony I am curious, did you cover the whole cone or just the leading edge "bra style" ?I took the my CF nose cone to three different PPF guys here in MD, all refused to do it saying they could not get the PPF to conform properly to the shape of the nose. I decided to try out the spray-on PPF, it came out pretty nice a little duller but still good looking, it took 10 coats of the stuff to build up the thickness required. I will PPF the rear wings myself in the next few weeks with traditional 3M film.

Thanks to all we now have a plan, the first order of business is to repair the original broken mount, and as suggested it will be a combination of an insert rod welded into place via holes drilled and a web welded to the mounting plate. In all these investigations it seems that the mount I was supplied had been welded together upside down, and, as it's not symmetrical, we can't just rotate through 180. The new mount is however a better and stronger overall design (box section welded to flat plate) so we may end up cutting it apart and re-weld and keeping as a spare or replacement. In any event, fixing the original will give us an accurate template that we can use to remediate the new one. FWIW it appears Arch has a pretty long lead time so not going to wait for a new one to be made "right side up". I went ahead and had a new low profile oil filler cap made, it turns out the thread is 3mm x 30mm. Noting a comment about the issues of needing a specific tool to remove I also knurled the top of the final design and that will allow it to be removed by hand (or 14mm hex). Lastly, I cannot tell you how helpful it is/was to have so many folks willing to go measure and offer advice, @Carlb's measurements were critical to understanding what had gone wrong, I am very grateful to all and hope I can pay it forward. As the loom is still a work in progress in the UK I have given up hope that the car will be ready for the NJMP event, but I will plan to be at there to say hi. ATB. Bart

Having now checked using the dimensions that @Carlb provided it seems Raceline indeed supplied the wrong engine mounts, which although did "fit" they positioned the engine too far forward and too high. I am now trying to track down a correct engine mount. Attached is a photo of the original one that was broken when I got the car, Worst case is I need to get one fabricated to match this one, although heavier duty given this one failed and my new engine has 2X the HP. I will try the usual suppliers but it seems unlikely that I can get one off the shelf. I will still need to make a new oil filler cap which turns out to be 3mm thread pitch at 30mm diameter.
-
Good morning everyone and thank you to all for the advice. @Carlb's measurements are very helpful and I plan to go check and compare my install later today. I'll update when I have the measurements taken. The engine was supplied with the retro ford cam cover so I don't have an original to use or compare against.

That was my thinking print one 3D and if it works out machine one in 6061 or similar.
-
Gus and I finally got the engine dry fit in the car but we did discover two problems that we now need to address. 1. The new engine mounts from Raceline hold the motor 1/2" higher than the originals, this means the hood and the nosecone will not fit as they foul on the cam cover. The new mounts are beefier than the original Caterham ones so we have some work now to modify them to allow the engine to settle in properly 2. The Oil filler cap on the new Retro Ford cam cover (BDA style) sits quite proud and is touching the underside of the hood and is also positioned exactly at the intersection of the hood and nose cone, so does not work as is. The solution is to machine a lower profile oil filler cap similar to the one below that I knocked up in tinker cad to illustrate my thinking. The main question is does anyone know what the thread is for a oil filler cap to fit a Ford Focus SVT (which apparently is what the thread is)? Thanks in advance to all.

Hey Carl, That's how it worked for mine, it was a black spring steel circlip type deal on mine, it was a compression fit.
-
Thanks for the welcome I may come car or not, it would be great to meet everyone for sure. Gus has all the parts there and ready but, as mentioned, I am waiting on the loom from the UK, its been a long process to get it first specified and then waiting for all the various connections and parts to become available. I am expecting the loom to be ready in the coming week or so but not holding my breath on that. We plan to drop the engine and gearbox in next week and check the fit for the gearbox oil cooler, accusump, the compressor for the paddle-shift, figure out the runs for the various oil lines and other odds and ends, then pull it all back out until we get the loom. Hopefully this preparatory step will expedite the final assembly.
