PistonHeads.com has been talking this up for a while. Tommorrow is the Autosport International show, thats were Caterham will let the cat out of the bag. Hope it does better than the ill fated Caterham 21.

Hi Stig, I looked at a Westy at Don Rosen Porsche-Audi like the one you are looking at. It had a blue nose , no Agip stickers. Someone else on this forum drove it, hopefully they will chime in IF it's the same car. Good Luck, Steve p.s. somewhere on this forum there is a photo of that car that I took. Hi Tom, The hoops are welded on. It would take a fair amount of work to get a proper cage on it. But I still have my design for it at work and I would enjoy building it. But it would mean no more top supports and no more use of the top, rear trunk cover, cutting out some of the interior. I gave this much thought years ago and I think it would be ashame to hack the S1 up. Plus my wife said I'd be a jackass to cut it up. So if the powers to be at NJMP stick with the broomstick rule, not mention 4 points of attachment at the minium, ect.ect. I have to say that I don't blame them and understand that they are looking out for everyones safety.

I pulled all of the padding out of my seat and replaced it with a blue foam that Pegasus Racing sells. That lowered me down an inch or so. Pulling out the seat is easy, and that will put me on the floor, not to sure how my butt and back will like it. Even that won't get me under the hoop. Will see how, " Tom For Club President" can do with the organizers . Is it going to be spring soon ?????? Snowing here in Ambler !!!!

I know that I can't pass the broomstick test. My head clears the hoop without a helment on. Maybe DaveD will have better luck. The Cobra guys just rent the track on their own, and then just do what they want !!!

All this talk of track days and blats made me go for a ride , I haven't been out in 6 weeks. And I tryed out my new camera that Santa gave me !!!! It's 37 out !!! Sorry about the lack of a picture, can't seem to get it to up-load, but you know what it looks like !!! LOL

Tom, Thats a great idea . Not sure about getting the S1 thru tech. Having our own run group would be a smart, fun, safe, afternoon. I hope Jon can make it !!!! LOL And I want to see the Thunder from down Under in action. aka Croc !!!!!

Way to go Karl, I was looking at Cosworth USA's web site today and they have nice bits for your new engine, should be a screamer. How's the 6 speed Caterham gearbox going to like the added power, I have no idea of it's rating. You and Mike are going to be bored waiting for the UNDER TWO HUNDRED CLUB to catch up with you two this spring. LOL Look forward to hearing it !!!!

I have been asked afew questions about what's in the S1, so I thought I'd post it here. This is what I have, Ford Sierra Type 9 Gear Ratios 1=3.35 2=1.81 3=1.26 4=1.00 5=0.83 P/N 839t-7211-CB Fill Plug Tool= 11mm square male If you bought your S1 From Dynamic Motorsports, I was told the Mike Cotts in the UK rebuilt the transmissions and he did a nice job with the rebuild. Rear , Source Nissan 1400 Bakkie truck( South African Model) Ratio= 3.93 Steve

Dave, Glad that you found us( Thanks to Scott for dropping a card on your windsheild). I look forward to getting together with you and # 50 Superformance S1. Just so happens that Dave has one of the other S1's in Orange, like mine, so I think thats cool. We'll get you to join us on our NJ-NY-PA runs in the spring and fall. See you soon, Steve Novelli

I never put proper roll-over protection on mine, because it would mean cutting out parts of the the back shelf. It would also cover up the area were the top supports slide into the body. Plus , The rollbar would be too tall to use the top. Blah,Blah Blah !!! If I really want a track car I will sell my S1 and buy a proper racecar, or a Caterham with a FIA bar or better. I think my S1 is to nice to hack up. I feel that is the one area that Superformance screwed up on the S1. They claimed that it is a great track car( and it is) but lacking rollover protection, you don't want to stuff it, or worse, roll it. My 2 cents, LOL

Hi Seamore, Those hoops are hoops, not roll bars. No tech inspector I know likes them or will pass it . If you are going to track it be smart and cage it up. Only one group ever let me slide, and they don't run track events anymore. The s1 is GREAT on a track .

The S1 forum shows this car as the only Rotary powered S1. The rest of them are Zetec powered. So someone thought it was a good idea. S1's are good , but I don't know anything about a Rotary. It no longer posted on E-Bay, hopefully it has a new owner.

If you read the first post , you will see that " Croc" is Mike. The guy who is selling his Cat SV. If you read all the posts, you will see that we don't know what Mike ( Croc) is up to !!!! I have a funny feeling he may be redirecting us from what he is really doing, It's working so far !!! As for speaking in " CODE", it's called English ??
