Thanks for the kind words @wallisek and @CBuff !!! -
since the windows on a 7 don't open, nothing can go out of them. Only around or on top of them And welcome to the Superlight R club

The Regular Summary of Classified Ads of Se7ens Found For Sale
das76 replied to Croc's topic in Cars For Sale
Congrats and well bought. Even if you had to drop $5-6k getting it sorted out you'd still be ahead vs others that have sold recently, and especially not having to pay for cross country shipping, and being able to going to go and see it in person. Judging by the pics it does seem to have had a bit of a hard life for a car with only 9000 miles. Hence the final price I guess! Look forward to following your adventures! Start a thread so we can follow along! -
@pethier I'm far from an expert (1yr Caterham owner), but my 2005 Superlight R with a Zetec SVT has a cutout in the frame to accommodate the engine . From what I have been told the cutout is Zetec specific. This might not be the case with a non-SVT Zetec (I'm not sure to be honest). But others probably know more than me. Worth investigating for sure!

Even though my car (2005 superlight r) has the 17 digit ‘VIN’ on the aluminum plate it’s also stamped on the chassis. However it’s legally an Assembled Vehicle with its own Colorado assigned VIN which is in the driver footwell

@Randy Flowers if you are still struggling with shoes, here is another idea I just came across: Water Shoes. I have a pair I use for paddle boarding and it just dawned on me that these would work and they are very thin. This exact model/brand i can't find on Amazon anymore but there are lots of others, and they are cheap: $25-35. They don't have a ton of heel padding but surely these would be better than bare feet. Just try and find the thinnest pair. And looking at your pedal box, vs mine, you should definitely do something to move the brake to the left. My accelerator pedal is also further forward than my brake. I can push the brake a decent amount before my foot even touches the accelerator.

wow, that's interesting. I haven't seen that before. But then again Caterhams are strange beasts. Lots of odd things happen to them over their lifetime. If you are interested in a set of lights I'm sure we can make it work somehow. It's not rocket science to get wires to connect. It just might be a bit more work. Depending on how much you like "projects" -
Yes.

Thanks. I'm assuming you have the bullet connectors then? We are going to look into making it work with those. It should be very easy. In the short term we can send you a set without the plug - just 1/2 inch of bare wire and you simply put on your own bullets. -
Thank you. The lights are available to order now if you are interested.

Hello 7 community. We’d like to introduce CaterLED: a high level, integrated brake, indicator, and running light system designed for Caterhams and 7's. As part of my 13 year old son’s entrepreneur class we decided to help improve the visibility of our cars. As you all know we are quite exposed so anything to enhance visibility and safety is a bonus. Unlike most other solutions, CaterLED lights are completely plug and play into your existing Caterham wiring system. Installation takes only 10-15 minutes. The kit comes with everything you need to install and fasten the lights and cables. The only tool you should need is a screwdriver. Even if you have no technical or electrical skills you can install these yourself. We went through a dozen or so different prototypes and designs until we found the perfect design snd we are thrilled with the result. This has been a great project for my son to learn lots of new skills such as business plan writing, sourcing parts, assembling, soldering, testing, packing, shipping, costing, logo design, payments and more. If the community responds well and this is a longer term project then he’ll look at building a website for ordering with direct payment, Instagram and Facebook pages, and more. A fantastic learning experience! Pricing is: £99/pair, €119/pair, US$129/pair, CA$139/pair (for domestic orders), and CA$175/pair for other international orders, including shipping from our home in Canada to your door. The kit includes everything you need to install the lights. Since we are not a business we don't anticipate any duties as we'll mark the package low value. If you need a LED Flasher Relay, we will provide those at £10ea, €12.ea, US$13ea, CA$15ea or you can source your own relay: CF14 JL02. Based on our research these should fit nearly all Caterham models in the S3 and SV range. (We have not verified S2 and S4 due to lower number of cars, but if you have an S2 or S4 contact us directly). These should also fit other 7’s such as Westfield, Birkin, Locost etc. Please contact us for help before ordering if you have one as we may need to give you bare wires ends. Please read our FAQs to learn more about the different models we are offering based on the connectors you have on your car to ensure proper fitment. You can also customize the lighting if you do not want the indicators activated. You can specify your lights to have either: Brake, running, and indicators Brake and running only Brake and indicators only Indicators only Brake only You can also specify your lights to omit the running/main light functionality and only act as a 3rd brake light + indicators. Installation instructions are here. He is now taking preorders so he can order all the components and start making them for you over the coming weeks or months. To facilitate this please complete this Order Form: Thank you, Dave and Nic Victoria, BC, Canada caterled7@gmail.com UPDATE #1: to clarify, the running lights only come on when the headlight switch is in the middle or full ON position, not when in the OFF position (on my car - it's a 2005). We have also made this an option in the order form if you want to remove the running/main lights all together. UPDATE #2: We are now offering a Bare Wire version for older cars with bullet or other connectors. You just need to install your own connector to each wire.

Hi @Randy Flowers. here is a pic of my pedal box if that helps. I wear size 9.5 Piloti Shift shoes, no problems at all. I can take some measurements between the pedals if that's helpful. I'm assuming this is the standard setup - my car came like this from the previous owner.

For Sale: Roll cage - S3 - Imperial - Superlight style
das76 replied to das76's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
@Catseven anything is possible. I will either have to find or build a crate for it. I will message you directly -
1 week is totally fine for a car to sit. Just think of all the people who leave their cars for 1-3 weeks at an airport! I've left my car for several weeks and it was fine. I have the Odyssey AGM16L battery. I use a NOCO Genius charger for extended times the car isn't in use. I take the bonnet off. No other practical way to do it. I also take a NOCO Boost Plus GB40 with me when I'm out driving. Much better than booster cable as it has enough juice to jump the car if needed so you don't need another car around. The bonus is that is has a USB out so you can charge a phone so you don't need to install a 12V port . https://no.co/products/power I use stick on velcro and have it mounted next to the fuse panel - it fits perfectly. I also have the Caterham tunnel bag like below. I put my phone in it, keep my ear plugs in it, and i tuck my insurance papers underneath it. (not in the mesh, but between the tunnel bag and the top of the tunnel. Works like a charm

I have no idea - sorry. Happy to take some specific measurements if you want. -
For sale: Superlight style roll cage for S3 Imperial chassis. Excellent condition. US$1000 or CA$1300 Plus shipping. Buyer will be responsible for shipping and brokerage costs from Victoria, BC. For those interested, in order to get a shipping quote you will need the following info: I will secure it to a pallet, and foam wrap the cage to protect it. Dimensions: ~70"x48" and the total weight will be ~100lbs. Height including pallet is ~ 36". Non-stackable. I made a few calls and the shipping quotes from my place to FL USA (basically the further point from me) were in the US$350-400 range, and similar for shipping to Eastern Canada. Brokerage is ~$200. However please contact shipping companies to obtain a quote to your location or I can assist with that too.

I'm 1 year into my ownership so take this for what it's worth. 1. I mostly drive in Piloti Shift shoes. Super comfy, the sole is nice and grippy: https://piloti.com/collections/all/products/shift-midnight and I wear them often even when I'm not driving. Since they don't look like racing shoes I don't feel like a douche walking around or going out for dinner in them. 2. Keep your eye on the road! I haven't hit anything. 3. Constantly scan your mirrors and surroundings. Enter intersections slowly. Keep the revs up so you are loud. In traffic I sometimes keep a finger on the horn button 4. It never even occurred to me to remove them when I park, so I don't. I don't think that the average person even knows they are removable. 5. I'm going to order a set of these: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08VD7LBLZ (also avail in the USA). They should fit. I would upgrade the rear lights to LEDs if you are going to drive at night a lot. Either LED bulbs or replace the entire unit with the new LED tail light that now comes standard from Caterham. 6. Just tell her not to get out of the car until you are on that side but that might not be enough depending on her spectrum level ? 7. Normal cash wash stuff. 8. You might want to mount the mirrors to the doors so you can open them fully. Right now they'll only open 90deg which isn't always as convenient. There are a few solutions on the market which are better than the stock solution so you can keep your mirrors. I use these: https://parts.dpr-motorsport.com/contents/en-uk/d30 there is also a guy on the UK forum making them from aluminum. Or if you want to get them 3D printed the files are available online for free if you search for "Eccles mounts" Unsolicited advice: don't overthink this!
