    Fuel cell

Yes, I have an ATL Fuel cell in my car (S3 superlight), you're welcome to come look at it. I am in Culver City If wasn't going to be such a PITA to switch back to a stock tank, I would consider selling it to you
  2. A) If your really terrible driving record is because you crash a lot, you probably don't want a Seven. :willy_nilly: And if your terrible driving record is because you get a lot of speeding tickets, a Seven isn't going to dissuade that behavior  B) Keep in mind that what other people are paying isn't necessarily relevant to you, there are too many variables involved, a 60yo man with a perfect record living in Alaska isn't going to pay anything near what you with a bad record and living in Los Angeles is going to pay. That said, I have a Superlight R like the one you are looking at and live in the westside of LA and I pay $810 per year from Hagerty and that is for "limited use" and insured for $40k. BUT I am 39yo, never had an accident and haven't had a speeding ticket on my record in 10+ years, so figure you will pay a lot more. C) The insurance companies can't find the VIN because Caterham isn't a registered manufacture in the US and under the CA SB100 the CHP assign a VIN to it. Also there is some funky stuff going on with the car you are looking at (if it is the one I am thinking of), I had been contacted by a couple of people looking to buy it and the owner appeared to be playing games and less than forthcoming so they backed out of purchasing it.

  6. Yup, ain't it great!!! .
  7. It was recommended to me by Caterham not to run the bigger rear tires unless you have 250hp or so. My Superlight R has the 195's around. If the price is right, I am in need of a set of tires, but I imagine having to ship them from Canada is going to negate any savings .
  8. Weighed my car with a full tank today and it was 1230lbs. Now my car has a 12 gal fuel cell, so with a stock 8 gal tank it would be 1206lbs. My car also has the Zetec which is supposedly 40lbs heavier than the Duratec, so with that motor it would be 1166lbs. Which means that Seans car is actually a heavy pig!
  9. Were you able to live without it on your 7?
  10. Of another kind of repair, the SoCal sun had caused the CF fenders on my car to lose their luster, they had faded and spotted quite bad and the gloss finish was completely gone. I just had a body shop completely sand them down, refinish, and clear coat them, got the car back today and they look brand new, I am very excited. Cost maybe a third or less of replacing them  The dashboard will be next. .
  11. I do the shaving part.... :seeya:
  12. Seans car is so wide that when we took him for a tour of the SoCal canyons he was collecting up mailboxes, cyclists, and joggers along the way. His final weight was 3320lbs
  13. I didn't have to do any of that either, inspection was totally easy. And I haven't had a front plate on my 7 since I got it 3 years ago http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif Haven't been running a windshield either for the past 6 months
  14. With FU money I wouldn't waste my time with road cars http://www.mjswebgallery.com/rally_2002-06/images/2004-189.jpg
  15. Very cool! Love his cars, spent a bit of time checking out the "Tank Car" when I was at Jays garage, it's amazing. Jay has done a lot of work to it including adding twin turbos to it which he says is to "improve gas mileage" I think these two are my favorite so far http://www.blastolene.com/B702/images/760.jpg http://www.blastolene.com/images2/deco/100_1986.jpg
  16. Saw it a couple of weeks ago, it was great
  17. I am biased towards Subaru as well, I've had two of them and used to work on one of the Subaru Rally teams. I've also worked on a couple of Evo vs STI magazine comparison tests and the Evo always came out ahead (despite my attempts to skew the results  ). I've always felt the biggest problem was that they always put slowish steering racks on the STI
  18. I was including suspension and steering as part of chassis set up. Evo's have always had a more aggressive set up out of the box, which is why it always lost the Evo in magazine comparison tests
  19. The Subaru has around 300hp, it has always had a bit more grunt than the Evo (stock for stock) but the Evo had a better chassis and is a sharper stick in the handling dept.
  20. Mark is an old friend of mine, we were on the Hyundai Rally team together ( I was team photographer) back in 02. Great driver and really fun to hang around. I had one of my most drunken nights of my life with him and some other team members after he had won the championship. His brother David is also an amazing driver.
  21. I was going to say that it has to be Florida, it's way too green, way too overcast, way too flat, and the road is way too straight to be California I've been out driving with a guy here in the LA area that has a 500+hp Atom still using the supercharger. It opens up a wormhole in the space time continuum when it blows past you
  22. I just did that on my bicycle the other day after a jogger ran out in front of me without looking, I was going quite fast, went over the bars as I was slamming the brakes, ended up nailing him hard, and yes it hurt.
  23. Lotus Twin Cam is 1558cc
  24. NSFW! Not safe to look at with the wife looking over your shoulder either, or perhaps it is ...... http://www.seven-passion.com/sexy/ .
