It's funny how you faked having your head go back into the seat to give the impression that your car is actually fast

I don't think it looks all that modern at all. It has some modern touches such as the lights but you can do that with any seven type car. About the only thing "modern" about it is the raked windshield and big honkin' wheels. I think it is a bit ill proportioned and ugly. http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif Here IMO is a more modern interpretation, the Toniq http://www.britishspeed.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=12328&stc=1&d=1275515439 http://britishracinggroup.com/toniq_sales/pic/stealthFull2.jpg .

It's the Murcielago that has the scissor doors, the Gallardo has traditional doors so you can't really back it up like that. I only had to back it out of a parking spot once and did so very carefully. I don't think any of the supercars live up to the hype, especially given how much they cost. I suppose if the cost of entry is not a lot of money to you they are sort of worth it, but I've never driven one and went, OMG I've got to have it and I will save all my pennies to buy one. They're all really nice, but the problem for me is that they design these cars to go 200+mph so in turn they are pretty boring to drive in the real world of less than 100mph. Additionally, in order to really drive these cars to the limits, you have to be a superhero driver (and willing to ball it up and walk away on a track) When the Murcielago LP-640 came out, I went to the press launch and got to drive the car on the track, I drove it as fast as I could given my unfamiliarity of the car, but did see 140mph and overall it was more fun to tell my friends I did it than to actually drive the car. Later I got a ride with an Indy car driver at the wheel and he was full opposite lock sideways out of corners, late braking and slamming me into the belts, up on two wheels, 150mph down the straight and that was pretty exciting. But who can do that with a car like that?! And in all honesty, it was not any more exciting than me driving the Caterham at 70mph Of course the cars look, sound, and smell amazing, and they are pretty comfortable given the performance, but I care more about the driving experience than posing and my big bucks would be spent on real race cars before an exotic. Also to note, where I live, Lamborghini's and Ferrari's are quite common, so they don't even garner a second look anymore I guess I am jaded. :willy_nilly: Though I wouldn't mind a Morgan Aeromax or an Aston Martin Vantage to accompany the Caterham ------ Some say he crawls because he thinks walking is overrated, and that his diaper smells of antifreeze ..... all we know is he's called The Stiglet http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs603.ash2/155557_471890593900_842533900_5540001_16704_n.jpg .

I had also posted this on another forum: I went to the Adam Carolla version taping and it was far better than this, I came out of it thinking it was every bit as good as the UK version and it was friggen hilarious. While I had high hopes and an open mind for this version, it apparent that this History Channel version lost a lot of the budget that they had to work with on the NBC pilot. Shame that.... The thing is, had we never seen the UK version, this show would have been pretty decent. I imagine it will get a little better with time and if it proves reasonably popular and gets renewed, they will likely have a bigger budget next year. On a side note, I had that same Gallardo Balboni for a day, I took it shopping at the discount outlet mall :cooldude: .

I was working for Lotus, shooting the launch on the press day Wednesday. I think the cars are gorgeous with exception to the Elise, which is just ok. They look much better in person. That said, I am disappointed in the direction they are taking but it seems to make sense for them from a business perspective

Passengers are overrated I don't use the car every day, but I just went to an Aeroscreen and it is pretty awesome. I just did a 140 mile drive with it last weekend, did half the trip with a helmet on and the other half without and it is much more exciting and far less windy To be honest, I somewhat doubt that the windshield would stop any truly dangerous debris anyway, and I actually feel safer with the helmet on

Next (this) months issue is supposed to have a 7 Caterham comparison test. I went looking on the newsstand tonight but it doesn't seem to be here yet

It's 90 degrees here today, the best time of the year for driving is just getting started .

The only time I drove a CSR was on a smooth track and it was before I owned mine, so can't really compare it, but from the opinions I've read the more modern suspension tends to dull the handling of the car a bit and that many people prefer the deDion http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif It's also interesting to note that Caterham hasn't adapted the IRS to the smaller chassis and that the R500 is considered the top spec and most desirable version of the car despite the deDion That said, if I could do it all over again with the $79k I don't have, I would put serious consideration to a CSR 260 for the reasons you mention above (though admittedly, the over reaction to poor road services adds to the excitement sometimes) .

Check your alternator.

I am confused, how is it her fault that you rear ended her? Whether she slammed on the brakes for a light or a kid running out in front of her, you are responsible for leaving enough distance in between the car in front of you so not to hit them. The amount of people that run red lights here is sickening! As a matter of fact, while telling my visiting cousin to beware of people running lights while she was driving here, someone ran a red light and nearly mowed us down on a crosswalk. .

The construction zone part should have been a big red flag not to speed .

And there's the thing, you can know where these are located and slow down when you get to them. I'd rather have one of these fixed camera locations in my favorite places to drive than a roving police officer whom I never know where he is hiding http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif

Mr Orange gets another 15 minutes of fame

Well we drove out to a back road to do some driving shots when suddenly the car started sputtering and then stalled. When I tried to restart, the relatively new (and expensive) fuel pump was sounding like it was straining and the car wouldn't run. I was hoping it was a clogged fuel filter and not the pump but there was no way for me to get to it on the side of the road, so went to call for a tow, except no cell service. We had to jump in the other car and drive a few miles to find service. With Tow Truck supposedly on its way, we went back to the car to wait... After nearly three hours of waiting decided to see if I could get the car at running enough to get it to where I can get cell service. Car started right up and ran like nothing had happened. I was able to drive it home and cancel the tow. Still not sure what it was, the only thought is that it may have been vapor lock (it was around 100 degrees), but I've never had that happen before even in hot weather http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif -

Yeah, I think they pulled the new R400 specs from Caterham or something for the sheet at the end http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif They were supposed to write the article and take the photos but the car sort of broke down during the session and we got nothing done, so I ended up supplying the photos I had already taken and modified a story I had previously written. It's a new magazine that this young couple recently started, I had met them at one of the motor press events and they asked me if they could feature the car. Thanks. Two of the shots I didn't take. The one under the trees and the one where I am driving I did use spell check on the story? What was misspelled? -
