  1. I was told after a conversation with the dealer that it could be had for $22k. This was probably a deal at $20k as originally available.
  2. http://rochester.craigslist.org/cto/1217830821.html Pretty spendy. No affiliation. $35.9k, 8k miles.
  3. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/1231542792.html No affiliation. Seems like a great price though.
  4. So, this supposedly sold for $33.1k. Besides the odd bidding, I find it amazing that he was able to get well over $3k more than he had been asking on some of the Lotus sites for the car simply by putting it on eBay. Sure, eBay exposes you to a lot of folks who might not be on LotusTalk.com, but with these cars it isn't like someone wouldn't know to look on one of the Lotus sites for one anyway. This car had been on LotusTalk.com and others for over 2 months with no buyer at $29.5k.
  5. Didn't meet reserve at $23.4k. Interesting, considering the dealer is only asking $24.9k on his web site.
  6. Car is now on eBay from a dealer in AZ. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-WESTFEILD-FACTORY-SUPER-7-SEi-V8-5SPD-100-PHOTOS_W0QQitemZ290324904876QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item4398b67bac&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A7|39%3A1|240%3A1308

Don't know about the "The engine alone costs $18,000." statement. It better be god's own cross-flow for that kind of money. The bidding seems suspicious as well, starting at $28.5k and immediately getting a bid, then another for $100 more. The guy has been asking $29k for it for quite some time and didn't get any action from the Lotus sites I saw it on, so why are two different folks suddenly so interested at $28.5k?
  8. Did not hit reserve at $18.2k highest bid. Barely even half of what they were looking for in the Buy It Now of $35k. Is the market this soft, or is it this car? Birkin's seemed to have no issues hitting the mid-$20's even recently.
  9. DavidL, I wonder how much that darty-ness is due to what seems like overly aggressive offset and the big tires, especially up front. It if funny, I got an email from the seller this evening saying that someone had looked at the car and pointed out it was a de Dion (he had told me it was a live axle a couple of weeks ago).
  10. Like you need another car...
  11. I had an email exchange with the seller last night and also go some hi res shots. Car is dirty, but that BDA looks good even with some grime on it. Waiting to hear if it is a de Dion or live axle car.
  12. A 250hp BDA that can pass CA smog is worth $32k all by itself.
  13. The windshield thing isn't always about rain. I know that many states require a windshield for protection of your head. A bug hitting you in the face at 70 mph does not feel good at all. Move that up to a decent size piece of gravel or similar road debris and you can see why they mandate them.
  14. jfgw, sent you a private message.
  15. Are you talking to me or thegoat? I would be interested, price dependent of course.
  16. Awesome. Thanks. BTW, I too have been looking at that cross-flow car in SF. He sent me some high res photos and it is very sharp. But, I am more interested in a Zetec/Duratec car at this point.
  17. thegoat, I am looking for a Caterham, and track focused is good for me. Would you mind giving me info on that local car you looked at?
  18. Update. The seller is now claiming this car is sold. Wondering if anyone on here bought it. This car was relisted 3-4 times, the last two being BIN or OBO 'auctions'. $19.9k, then dropping to $17.5k. I made some low ball offers both times and was auto declined. On Sunday afternoon, I got a message from the seller via eBay asking if I was still interested in the car. I replied yes and gave them my phone number to call. Ended up talking with the girl who I think was in the photos in the last auction. Interesting... Anyway, I reiterated my highest lowball offer and for awhile it seemed she was resigned to possibly taking it but had to check with the owner of the car if that would work for him. Krobargear was just listing it for a family friend according to her. I told her she might want to update the ad so it didn't say "Seight" and gave her some insight about what the vehicle was she was selling. She seemed to be very put off by the hassle of dealing with people that were interested in the car. I told her that selling a Westfield is not like selling a Camry. That was on Monday afternoon of this week. My dad emailed me this AM asking if the car had been sold as the eBay auction was taken down. I checked Craigslist in Portland as it was advertised their as well. Also gone. So, I called the woman rep'ing the car and got her on the phone. She claims the car is now sold, and at "asking price," which I find hard to believe based on what I saw on eBay and her air of desperation when we first spoke on the phone. Apparently not a local sale.
  19. Relisted for the 4th time in as many weeks, now with an opening bid of $19k and BIN of $19.5k.
  20. I have been looking for a year now. I have yet to see more than one SV available for sale. There seems to be a reasonable supply of 96-04 cars, but newer than that and they just don't seem to be available. I wonder if it is because many are still in the build process?
  21. I wonder if the guy they mention in the ad still actually owns the car? Perhaps one could track him down and explain the clowns rep'ing his car are killing his chance of getting any money out of it.
  22. I keep thinking they will lower the price on the car, but they keep raising it. Interesting logic. This is it's third time on eBay in the last three weeks and each time it goes up about $2500 in price.
  23. This car has been for sale since at least last summer, including several stints on eBay. I think he has come down only moderately in price (maybe $2k) since I first saw it.
  24. I hate to quibble, but I can't agree with your statements. Height is most definitely an issue with any classic 7 once you get beyond about 5'10". I am 6'2" with a 33" waist and a classic Seven is very snug on me. I don't see how anyone with a 40" waist is going to comfortable in a standard 7, much less be able to get in and out of it easily. The biggest issue height wise that I have found is that my legs are basically pinned up underneath the steering wheel on a classic 7. Even tiny sport wheels are tough. No room for my hands to turn the wheel more than about 1/2 turn in either direction. A lowered floor would certainly help this, but no way a 6.5' guy or someone with a 40" waist is going to be comfortable in a standard 7.
  25. Exactly what I want, just twice what I want to pay.
