  1. Thanks I've been searching like a mad man for a good deal, but I always end up looking at a total bill of about $350 factoring in shipping and taxes for the full kit including velocity stacks. I'm trying to keep my upgrade costs reasonable
  2. K&N air cleaner housings and shorty air-horns for a pair of Weber DCOE 40 carbs
  3. I think the supersprint bonnet refers to the cut out for the weber. I agree the records must be wrong. I'm going to try to find that 5th gear next time out.
  4. Out of curiosity I wrote to Caterham to find out the original build info for my car. Here is the response: Sold by Caterham Cars Ltd in 1989 as a starter kit, this was supplied as a black De Dion Caterham Super Seven 1700 crossflow, with 5-speed gearbox, flared wings and Supersprint bonnet. Spec included weather equipment, flared wings, 11" Motolita steering wheel, 14" KN Ford wheels, heater and roll-over bar. Since that time the car has turned green, dopped a gear (now has a 4 speed???),been converted to dry sump and made its way around the globe from the UK to Japan and now Canada while travelling 30,000 road miles.
  5. $60 for the set
  6. $75 USD for the set including airfilter socks
  7. thanks John, you are right. One question for you I found when I had RA1s on my 911, the tires kicked up a hail of gravel due to the soft compound. What is your experience with your 7 and these tires?
  8. Looks like best is Toyota proxes r888 185/70/13 800 taxes in and installed at tires23 in Mississauga I have not pulled the trigger either. I'm going to wear down my old dunlops this season
  9. Caterham halfdoors for an 89 chassis Thanks
  10. If you decide to sell them we should talk Mike
  11. Where would I find the right C wrench that would allow me to adjust the ride height of my Spax?
  12. I'm kind of all over the map. Mostly 60s/70s rock Lots of Grateful Dead Still have a great appreciation for classical music, old country (love Johnny Cash) and good quality modern music (Radiohead, U2, Coldplay, etc.) Not a big fan of most current popular music. I think Hip Hop is a bit of a waste of time
  13. Not familiar with New Zealand. Where does that tunnel go to and from? The ocean and scenery looks beautiful Happy B-day
  14. Oh....I was so tempted to play hooky from work today and go for an all day Blat. I dropped my son off at pre-school today and the sun was shining and the leaves are turning. It would have been a perfect early fall drive.

  16. I don't think so. The exhaust is on the opposite side, but I will check it out thanks
  17. I'm not 100% sure. It only had a 4 cylinder Cosworth
  18. Had a chance to sit in a Lotus 49 the other day. Wow what an eye opening experience. Those guys had big brass ones to be willing to slip down inside those cars and race in anger.
  19. While cornering fast, if I hit any kind of bump I think I hit my bumpstops or the tire rubs in the fender. The impact makes a bloody aweful scraping/crunch sound near my hip (assume it is the rear spring). Does that imply too soft a spring? Should I crank up the damper adjustment at the rear? Thanks
  20. I'e only owned her for a month, but I'm at 800 miles and growing and not looking back
  21. I really like the speaker box. I see a winter project coming together. I won't bother you with lots of questions, but just so I don't set the car on fire, where did you take the power from? Can you share a wiring approach?
  22. Yes, it is press in I just used silicone gasket seal shot into the venting holes of the cap Cheaper than a sealed rocker cover
  23. good attendance this year. Some very tasty sevens. Will post pics soon
  24. KitCat, thanks, I think it was a coolant hose. I refastened the hose and now i think the engine is drying up. Also, I sealed up the oil filler cap and no more underhood smoke. The smoke goes into the dry sump tank and then back out a breather hose that leads under the chassis
  25. Mapquest says 5+ hours one way http://www.mapquest.com/mq/2-Xi76GWlSJZV1r0LS I was quite surprised how mountainous the area is so the drive would be fun and the speeds can be kept fairly high. If it was me, I'd pick up the car as early as possible, drop the roof head for the horizon. PS - there is a traffic issue around the Hoover Dam due to construction on the main highway so a driving trip to the Hoover Dam maybe a problem
