  2. I take your house, your car and all your money, or I hit you in balls....which you want a$$-hole?
  3. The carb side engine mount for my crossflow kent motor is cracked on one of the arms near where it meets the engine. My mechanic suggested he just weld it up quickly at our next visit. I noticed that a new one is for sale on ebay. Is it an easy replace item for a DIY or mechanic? Or am I better to just get it welded up. I'm thinking replace, unless it works out to many hours of labour. Thanks

  5. I think my tire is hitting the inside of the rear funder when cornering hard and hitting a bump. Am I missing a bump stop? I'm going to switch from 70 series to 60 series tires soon so that may help.
  6. Oh, that is so cool.
  7. Its the in-car camera stuff from back then that really highlights the dangers to me. Trees flashing by right next to the track. The lack of margin of error. I really enjoyed the in car footage of Jim Clark in the Lotus
  8. I had to stop...its too much to watch.....too much empathy
  9. Its always humbling to see how nature can kick our butts when she wants to
  10. I'm not sure that this is the kind of stable platform the designers had in mind. Something tells me that I'd not want to be sitting in that truck when they pull the trigger

  13. http://www.ancasterbritish.ca/ April 17, 2011 9:30am - 3:00pm Ancaster Fairgrounds - 630 Trinity Road When I used to go in the early 90s it was pretty small, but hey, any excuse to get out in the seven works for me. Anyone in the GTA want to meet up there or connect part way (I live in Port Credit, right near the 427 and QEW) and convoy west to Ancaster?
  14. Got to agree, the Countach has an incredible presence. Finally now it is finally getting some respect as a drivers car. I would love to own one some day....right after a Duratec powered Seven! Sadly, our local laws don't allow it. Grrrr!!
  15. If I was pushing for those kinds of speeds, I think I'd beef up the roll cage a bit more. He is lucky he didn't do more barrel rolls http://www.streetfire.net/video/official-video-of-230-mph-corvette-crash-at-texas-mile_2228593.htm#
  16. I think this Lambo had the record at the last event at over 235MPH. Don't think it will make the next event. I hope the driver is OK http://www.streetfire.net/video/hd235mph-lambo-crash-from-texas-mile-2010_2079018.htm#

  20. Hi guys My crossflow Caterham has a dry sump system. The oil filter sits on a mounting up high just under the nose cone. The part number of the filter is a LOTUS number. I assume I can just replace it with a Ford spec filter. Anyone have a similar set up and who can give me the part number to a more generic brand?
  21. Please move to the for sale forum if appropriate: No affiliation Hello Lotus Club members, After much deliberation I have decided to sell my 1965 Lotus 7 Series II as it is not quite what I am looking for in a vintage car. I would love to see it go to someone locally who will use it for its intended purpose: Vintage Racing. I should add that the car has never been raced; I inherited it from my father before he could race it. It is currently driven on road for enjoyment in the summers. I have emailed the Lotus Club as well as given information to the Vintage Racing Club of BC first. If this does not work I will expand my efforts elsewhere. I am looking for a car better suited to my tastes of low key rallying. I am willing to consider trades for early Porsches or Alfa Romeos. They have a little better weather proofing and comfort for longer trips. I have uploaded a photobucket webpage with pictures at this link: http://s1125.photobucket.com/albums/l590/Lotussouper7/#!cpZZ1QQtppZZ28 Email me if you would like any more info or maybe try to talk me out of it!!
