  6. I managed to get some time off from work, so I will be heading down later this afternoon. If anyone would like to split the cost of a room, let me know. Worst case scenario, I will be packing a tent. I think there is camping on site. Unfortunately, I have been trying to get a clutch for my car and planned on putting the engine back in last night, but for some reason, the standard Ford Focus 2 liter clutch doesnt fit, so I will be coming down on either my motorcycle or by car. Just glad to get the time off to hang out with you guys and help out with whatever needs to be done. Cell#(551 427 3829) See you guys soon.

  12. We had a fantastic trip and missed the rest of the gang. Glad to hear you are back in your seven Jon, lets try to get together soon. The weather was terrific and Mazda set a fantastic white-knuckled pace through the twisties and switchbacks. While his LS2 powered monster 7 roared through the twisties effortlessly, probably without down shifting to add insult, my humble powered Zetec VCT 7 was wailing at 6500 to 7 k plus second to third gear shifts just to keep up, it was wicked cool. To have the car in its element and feel what a 7 is capable of doing, and to have the Caterham scream for more and sometimes my sidekick Jen was screaming and laughing hysterically louder than the Caterham, very exciting to say the least, yea the adrenaline was pumping. My cheeks still hurt from smiling for 3 days straight. A few times when driving behind Dean, I could hear the turbo spool up, sounded real neat. He is being modest because every time I looked in my rearview mirror, he was right there. Once, glancing back after going over some rolling hills, I saw his Lotus almost leave the planet, that must have felt real great Claudia. Another time in the switchbacks on the way up to the observatory, I looked in my mirror again and he was right there with me. I was going to wave him on by, we all know our 7s could handle it, but I had looked over the side of the mountain, don’t ever look over the side of mountain. I was thinking “holy crap that is along way down.” A man has got to know his limitations and today was a good day for low flying, we would save soaring for another day, so I backed out a little bit, sorry Dean. I am sure, for the most part, we stayed within the speed limit, you know, everything is amplified when you are in a 7. Well anyway, that’s my story and I am sticking to it. While at Mazda’s brother’s house, we met the neighbor. He was a truly talented man with a passion for all things mechanical. He was eager to show his projects to us and he had a wonderful sense of humor. He is the kind of guy that gets an idea and then sets out to build it. I am sure he is valuable to the community. Later that evening, we built a fire pit and we cooked chicken and steak. Dean proceeded to anesthetize our sore backs and butts with some real Lotus vodka. Note to ones self, eat first before drinking deans rare Lotus vodka. Shortly after, we were all laughing and having a grand time and our backs and butts did not hurt anymore, thanks Dean. Jen and I would also like to thank Mazda and his wonderful family for their generous hospitality, I cannot wait to do it again.
  13. Me too !! Ill post later when I get some time.

  16. Bruce, Thanks for the great blat. The country side and roads were fantastic! Your a lucky guy to have a wonderful wife who understands and accepts your minor car obsession LOL, which by the way, is quite a collection. I would really like to go for a ride in that mini someday, and the red jag really does need to have some run time. Im sure any of us would be willing to do this for you since you are not home much and we all know jags need to be run to maintain a good state of tune It was really nice to have met all the other guys as well. It started to rain pretty hard on the way home, so we just took the highway back. Steve, your car sounds great and sorry you forgot to bring your coast guard approved vest for the ride home. Al Navarro was there to support the group as usual. Sorry I didn't get to stop by and visit your chili cook off, it started to rain pretty hard. Kyle and Box, I hope you get your cars on the road soon. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to call. Mike, it was good to see you again. If it weren't for you, I would not have a 7.
  17. I saw this the other day its very intriguing. what do you guys think ? http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/19/scuderi-split-cycle-engine-almost-ready-for-sale-to-automakers/ http://www.scuderigroup.com/ I'm thinking it may have some balancing issues at variable speeds. if it does I'm sure they'll figure out though
  18. Posted with no affiliation. Sure wish I had some extra cash though. http://www.wirewheel.com/index.php?action=website-view&WebPageID=25029&WebSiteID=409
  19. I remove the cover on the pedal box when it gets cold .the engine bay generates enough heat that I don't need a heater for the winter months.
  20. No problem, we will take 287 to 78 and drop down to Frenchtown through some county roads, should be fun.
  21. Bruce I orderd a new motor mount from Caterham USA last week. In the meantime, I welded my broken mount Wed. night and it seems to be holding for now. So if all goes well, I will be joining the blat. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
  22. Well after swapping injectors, swapping plugs, taking the plug out, checking compression, buying an OBDII analizer, did I mention taking the plug out again, checking the plug gap, did I mention putting my ear to the valve cover and hearing a clicking sound, pushing on the plug boot and miraculously the sound went away, taking plug back out, after 2 days of no sleep I decided to give the spark plug boot a little extra push and ........BINGO BANGO......no more miss............DOH! The car shifts and runs great. It has been quite a learning experience to say the least. Cant wait to do it again. I guess it is the little obvious things that get you every time. Thanks to every one for all the help and advice. All I have to say is that it has been alot of fun kicking my own ass this week LOL.
  23. March ride in NJ 2009. Feel free to use the pictures if you like, I own the rights.
  24. I started the car and the #4 cylinder is not firing. I have good ignition. I have not been able to check the compression yet, but when I pull the plug out and turn the car over, a lot of air is coming out of the cylinder, just need to get a gauge that will reach down into the cylinders. I am leaning more towards not getting fuel through the #4 injector. Does anybody have any ideas as to what may be causing this problem? I am going to check the resistance on the injector later today.
  25. Engine and trans are back in. Tomorrow I will bolt up the prop shaft and trans. Later this week I will sort through the wire and hoses, clean and detail the engine bay and then we are on the road, hopefully by the weekend. Thanks again to all you guys for the help.
