  1. Thank you so much for posting that! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/hurray.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif I saw that once a while ago and it had me in tears, but I'd completely forgotten about it.
  2. I'm familiar with that one! My co-workers could always tell when I drove the Seven (if they hadn't heard it http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif ) by said 'do and my immediate trip to the washroom with brush and comb in hand.
  3. Fabulous ad. Just saw it posted over on the Autosport forums. I am a fan of how modern F1 engines sound (esp the V10's), but there's a character to the older engines that modern engines just can't touch. The other engine I heard a few years ago that blew my mind was a small-block in an original GT40. It was not at full chat rather at a concours in Cincinnati, but the owner fired it up and gunned it a few times. Sounded like no other V8 I've ever heard. Totally different from highly built muscle-car motors and drag motors. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/coolgleamA.gif
  4. Not to mention pitching into what looks to be fairly soft earth without helmets on. Gulp... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/eek6.gif Edit: It does look like a hell of a good time, though. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifxflow72007-03-22 18:12:00
  5. I will create a new user group called "legend" if you manage to get a cop car behind you and handcuffs under the sign http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrinjester.gif How bad do I wish I had a friend who's a cop? http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif
  6. Yeah, I was being kind of facetious in dubbing it "official." Scavenger hunt has the right feel to it, though. 7th St./Ave./etc. seems an obvious candidate, but too easy on it's own. However, I think it should be worth bonus points if gotten with a "brand" cross-street (e.g. intersection of Lotus Ave and 7th St). Double bonus points for anyone who can get Donkervoort. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif
  7. If you do, post it here. You too, Mazda. This can be the official LSiSS (Lotus Seven inspired Street Sign) thread. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif
  8. Was that on the way to Waterford Hills? I've only been there once, and it was to spectate, but that's a really neat little track.
  9. Just seemed like the place to be: http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070313_151543_CaterhamDr-smal.jpg
  10. Oh yeah. The even better part is that the main road running along side is called Williams Lake. (Williams is my surname). I wish the street sign showed both. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif
  11. http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070313_151543_CaterhamDr-smal.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/hurray.gif This was the intended destination of my blat on Sunday that I ran out of time for. Fortunately another nice day today.
  12. I'm an engineer, mechanical by background. Spent several years doing manufacturing line development/commissioning, then a couple of years as a finite element analyst, and most recently controls engineer.
  13. Yeah, the company I was working for folded at the end of January. Have a couple of feelers in at various places locally, and an offer in upstate NY, but am negotiating salary with them. I managed to piss away the winter also. I had several projects in mind, but the notion of freezing my butt off trying to work on the car in my cramped garage damped my enthusiasm enough that nothing got done. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/ack2.gif
  14. It's all good. Wednesday's looking nice, too and now that I'm unemployed I've got nothing but time. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif If I can find the correct fitting locally I may even sort out the broken fitting before then. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif
  15. Only watched the first vid so far but, http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif
  16. Thanks for posting. Looks great. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif
  17. Beautiful day, most of the salt gone from the roads. Beckoning for the first blat of the year. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/hurray.gif Figured it would be the better part of valor to quickly give a couple of squirts of grease to the u-joints before setting out as it had been a while. - Damn, old grease in the gun has separated. No prob. Nip over to NAPA for a new tube. - NAPA closed. Drive across town to Autozone. Good, new grease in hand. - Bugger! Can't get the old tube out of the gun. Burn 20 mins wrestling with it and cleaning all the separated oil out. - Okay. First u-joint up. - Zerk fitting a bit loose. Rummage for correct wrench and snug it up. Good. Sorted. On with the job. - Hmmm...Grease only coming from 3 of the four bearing cups. That's not a good sign. Oh well, not going to let it jeopardize a blat. Add it to the list of things to check out later. - Pull gun off Zerk fitting and move to rear u-joint. - What's this in the end of the grease gun? ARRRGGHHH!! Front Zerk fitting broke off at the threads when I pulled the gun off (must have overtightened it). http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/blush5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/mad5.gif F*** it. Went for a blat anyway. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif Pretty nice blat, only considerably shorter than originally envisioned.
  18. Hi Al, That's a great idea. Have you ever seen Cherik's list of phrases, anecdotes, etc. at his website? There is quite a nice little collection there: http://my.voyager.net/~quadrant19/anecdotes.html Davexflow72007-03-02 16:45:25
  19. Excellent. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif Man, the keyboard in the desk is hard-core! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/eek6.gif Only real office prank I've ever been first-hand involved with was dismantling one of the walls of my cubical and erecting it across the entrance of a co-worker's. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif One of my co-workers (different job) not long ago molded various of our office implements in Jello after being inspired by The Office. Speaking of The Office (the US one) that is an excellent source of pranks.xflow72007-02-16 15:19:54

    MetroSled

Coolest snowmobile idea I've seen...The MetroSled. Apparently from somewhere in Saskatchewan. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070213_132506_DSCF0003.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070213_132540_DSCF0005.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070213_132606_DSCF0002.JPG

    OMG ROFL

    That is a riot. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/hurray.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif
  22. Excellent! Congratulations. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif Looks and sounds great. I'm kind of in the same camp as rv-4mike. The dream car growing up was a Caterham w/ a crossflow which is what I got and have no regrets at all. But I love the notion and sound of BEC's. Really want one of those too someday. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif
  23. D'oh! >...and as if from nowhere a link appears...
  24. ...courtesy of Walter Röhrl in a 911. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif (The fun starts about 30sec in)
