Header is 4 individual peices. # 1 and # 4 are separate tubes and # 2/3 tubes are a single peice. The collector is also a separate peice. The header came off a mid 80's left hand drive Caterham that has been converted to 1500cc pre-crossflow power with corresponding header.

Very nice stainless header from 1700 crossflow powered Caterham. Includes a lightweight Coast Fabrication muffler/silencer with 90 degree kickout that could potentially complete this exhaust system (you will need to fabricate a flange to mate the muffler to the header). $200 for all. Need a minimum of one and preferably a pair of rear taillights for Caterham SCCA EP race car that was badly crashed at Road America last September. Let me know if anyone can help. (I know that they're available new, but as it's a race car my customer is hoping to find something "decent" used). Thanks, Craig (330) 807-0742 or chima97@aol.com

Looking for a chrome wiper arm for early Caterham. See pix of my car that just sold with the missing wiper to see what I'm looking for. Let me know if someone has something lying around that might work. Believe that this is the same wiper arm as that was used on many small BMC cars in the 60's and 70's so hopefully shouldn't be too hard to find. Thanks, Craig

Just wanted to let everyone know that the car is now officially "sold." Thank you to everyone who inquired about it (there was pretty amazing response after I posted the lower price 2 days ago) and the car is going to the Pacific Northwest area where hopefully the new owner will get lots of enjoyment out of it. All, Thanks to those who have inquired about the car over the past week. Here is an update for those who may have some level of interest in it. I had what I believe to be a legitimate offer on the car on Friday for $17,500 and respectfully turned it down and told the person that my bottom line on the car was $18K. Since that time, I have not heard back from him but have gotten two other inquiries who I have told the same thing to (i.e. $18K price). With that in mind, I figured that I'd take the opportunity to put my cards on the table and re-post the car here with my bottom line price. You won't find a better Caterham anywhere for that kind of money.

Have an extra 14 x 7 Panasport 8 spoke wheel in case anyone needs one to complete their set or needs a spare. 4.75" backspace and standard 4.25" Caterham bolt circle. New and never mounted. $200 plus shipping from Akron, OH. Have a 2nd identical wheel that I may consider parting with if someone desperately needs a pair. Craig (330) 807-0742 or chima97@aol.com

The seat does come with the seat rails (fore/aft "slider" brackets) by the way and simply needs bolted in and is otherwise ready to install.

Reluctantly selling my trusty "old reliable" crossflow powered 1979 Caterham. The best way I can describe this car is a true "survivor" with 6130 original miles, original unpainted aluminum skin with very, very few blemishes, original fiberglass, and original running gear throughout. The car is titled as a 1964 Lotus and has a matching Lotus data plate with appropriate SB1940 serial number so regardless of where a potential buyer may be located there should be no emissions issues whatsoever. In fact, the only features to distinguish this car from an original S3 Lotus 7 would be the Caterham taillights and front clamshell turn signal lights. The car has 5 like new 13" x 6" Panasports with 205 x 60 x 13 Sumitomo HTR 200's with under 500 miles on them. Absolutely everything on it works, and it has full weather equipment (side curtains, top, tonneau), and stock Caterham roll bar. The interior has the original "bench" vinyl seat and original Smiths guages that work fine. It is a solid axle car with Ford Cortina based rear with 3.9 final drive and Salisbury type LSD and semi-close ratio 4 speed transmission. The crossflow motor was rebuilt (strictly for performance upgrade purposes) by noted Formula Ford builder Dave Dixon in Detroit at just over 4000 miles (i.e. about 2000 miles ago) and got a lightened flywheel and clutch assembly, Bosch distributor and coil, new valve springs and retainers, new pistons, cam, lifters, timing chain assembly, and some other odds & ends and while it was never dynoed it likely makes 130 to 135bhp. It is on a single downdraft Weber and before anyone pooh poohs this induction versus dual sidedrafts, I will tell you that it makes far more torque and is far more streetable and there is no fiddling with linkage or tuning of multiple carbs, etc.... It is an unbelievably reliable motor that starts with a single crank and settles into a steady idle in under 10 seconds, doesn't show any blue smoke whatsoever and after sitting all winter it might have 2 or 3 drops of oil under it. The car has a full length (i.e. exits out the back) stainless exhaust system) with header wrap under the hood to keep the heat down to a minimum. There is also an oversize radiator with thermostatically controlled electric fan for extra-hot days. Overall, I'd give this car a cosmetic rating of 9+ out of 10 and mechanical rating of 9.9 out of 10 (.1 deduction for the typical crossflow engine drip although this is the best one I've ever owned). The master cylinders were replaced last summer and the best endorsement I can give this car is that I wouldn't hesitate to jump in it and drive to California in it (if my back could stand it!). It truly needs nothing and is ready to go. Very realistically priced at $19,200 and I will post pictures as soon as I am able. Craig. (330) 807-0742 or chima97@aol.com P.S. I have now attached 5 pretty basic pictures of the car. As there is still snow on the ground here in Northeast Ohio and snow flurries in the air today I had to take the pictures inside my shop but they should provide a fair representation of the car. I have several more pix that I can email to interested parties and will be happy to take specific shots if there are areas of the car that anyone wants to see. Thanks again.

Have two pair of clamshell fenders for sale. Both pairs used on vintage race car for many years. One pair is in good condition (i.e. no cracks) except for the typical spider web cracks that come from being hit with rocks, etc. $150 for this pair. The other pair has some some crash damage that will require some minor fiberglass repair but all necessary peices are intact (i.e. there are no missing peices). With a couple of hours worth of work and $20 of fiberglass from your local Wal Mart these fenders could be looking good again and ready for final sanding and paint. $75 for this pair or $200 for all four plus shipping from Akron, OH. Craig (330) 807-0742 or chima97@aol.com

Pair of rear trailing links for original Lotus 7's or Solid axle Caterhams and/or other replicas. Same as your stock upper links except with adjustable spherical rod ends at both ends (3/8" front, 1/2" rear) for easy rear end alignment. These trailing links were recently powdercoated and look "new" and race-quality rod ends are included. $100 plus shipping. Craig (330) 807-0742 or chima97@aol.com

Lightweight aluminum radiator for sale that's perfect for Caterhams and/or other "7" type replicas. We've been using this same style radiator in several of our race cars for the past 15+ years, and it's about 5# lighter than a stock Caterham unit. 20" wide by 12 7/8" tall by 2" thick means that it fits perfectly in the stock Caterham/Lotus 7 location (i.e. in front of steering rack). I can send pix to anyone interested but can't seem to get them posted here. Upper outlet is at the top left which makes the plumbing very simple for Ford Kent-powered cars, and the bottom outlet is at lower left meaning a crossover hose is required (but I will include with radiator). $100 plus shipping from Akron, OH. Craig (330) 807-0742 or chima97@aol.com

Rick, Probably not although you could send me pix of the Porsche to my email address just to see what it looks like. chima97@aol.com. Thanks, Craig

In case anyone is interested, the car is still for sale and I finally got it on the scales tonight and it came out about as expected. 1133# with the road wheels and tires and 1127# with the track wheels and tires. Makes for quite a potent power to weight ratio with the BDR motor. This is a car that will legitimately run upper 130's mph top speed as it sits. Craig

I assume this is good news for Crossflow owners

BlueMax, a 105e is a 1 liter 3-main motor, typically raced in formula juniors. Just FYI. -
I realize that I posted the original ad for my Caterham for sale several months ago (that post now found in the middle of page 2 in this section), but now that the car is basically finished I thought that I'd start over with a new thread and pictures. If you need any additional details on the specs of the car please refer to that original ad or feel free to email me directly or give me a call. With the car finally close to being finished, I took it for a drive this morning and aside from some very minor de-bugging (all will be finished by the end of this weekend) it's spot on and ready to go. The BDR motor is astonishingly strong and all suspension setup work is completed and it runs and drives great. But given that I'm more or less "helpless" when it comes to computers and can't seem to figure out how to post the current pictures (taken this morning) I've sent them to a friend and asked if he can help so hopefully there will be pix on this site in the next day or two. The price is $25K firm with 2 sets of wheels (the ones seen in the pix with new street tires on them and a set of nearly identical Panasports with centers painted yellow to match the car) with shaved Toyo RA1's for track day or similar use. Since the original ad was posted I have added low oil pressure (red) and high water temp (amber) warning lites to the dash as a precautionary measure and got rid of the old Lucas alternator in favor of a lightweight one more suitable to the car. Car is in Akron Ohio and it's finally stopped raining around here so maybe I'll get to enjoy it for awhile before it sells.
