The Lotus 7 is the ex-Tom Robertson 1977 D Production Runoffs Winner. Still as of this date the only Lotus 7 to ever win a Runoffs championship. My ex car (Lotus 7) with one of my current 1500 motors actually sat on the FP pole at the Runoffs at Laguna Seca last month but had an incident during the race and finished 6th. A 7 might have a chance again when the Runoffs come back to Mid Ohio in 2016, but definitely not next year at Daytona.

2006 Caterham S3 Roadsport SVT Zetec (185bhp). A customer of mine bought this car from Mike (Breezy7 on this website) in St. Louis in the Spring of 2013 and I have done occasional service and maintained it for him since that time but now he has decided to sell it and I am listing it on his behalf. It is a wonderful 2 owner car that truly needs nothing other than to be enjoyed and driven. The car is basically exactly as it was when purchased, still with gorgeous polished alloy body and British Racing Green fiberglass. 5 speed transmission, De dion rear, quick release Momo steering wheel, Carpet & Heat insulation kit, full top & bag, heater and heated windscreen, wind deflectors, tonneau, wheel locks, alloy radiator and mesh grill, etc, etc, etc. Everything works perfectly and the car is basically immaculate throughout and Mike did a fabulous job on the build. I don't think that Bob has had the car out in the rain since he has owned it. I will try to post some new pix but you can certainly refer to the original posting pictures to get a detailed idea of what the car looks like The car is titled with a clear Ohio title as a 1965 Caterham 7, and hence has Historical license plates on it. I routinely rebuild and re-valve 82 series QA1 shocks (did a set yesterday, in fact) as they are used on many of my customers' various race cars. This is a complete setup for Ford Kent based motors (crossflow, pre-crossflow, BDA, etc) that will allow you to easily install an oil cooler with minimal fuss. It includes a "sandwich plate" which is basically an adaptor plate that installs between your existing oil pump and oil filter. The adaptor plate has both an inlet and outlet port to route oil to and from a remote oil cooler and included in this setup are new lines along with a 9 row oil cooler which is perfectly suited for the front of a Lotus 7 or replica. A customer of mine bought this kit for his crossflow powered car but never got around to installing it and ultimately sold his car. $100 OBO which is about the cost of the sandwich plate or oil cooler separately. In my opinion, this is probably the nicest SCCA Caterham in the country at the moment. Bob has been a customer of mine for several years and totalled his previous car at the Runoffs in 2011 at Road America and the car he is selling was built ground up from a brand new chassis during the winter of 2011-2012 at a cost of probably $25K. I believe he raced it twice in 2012 and decided to "retire" from racing (he is in his late 60's). If the Runoffs were held anywhere else but Road America I would say that this car would be a legitimate threat to win as it currently sits. It is basically a "new" car with all of the best components. Craig

Wanted to let everyone know that I received a deposit check on the BDA motor today so I can safely say that it is "sold" and thanks to those who inquired about it. In a new and "related but unrelated" development I just learned that I am going to be getting a Lotus Elan in my shop within the next 2-3 weeks for major service/restoration work including a motor swap. The motor currently in the car will be available in the very near future and it is an awesome peice. It is an "all steel" MWE built, alloy block, 2 liter fuel injected Ford BDG making 262bhp on pump gas. I've driven the Elan (1400 pounds) and it's an absolute rocket ship and can only imagine what the motor would be like in a Caterham or "7" type car weighing 200 to 300 pounds less. I have just received the receipts and build sheets from the car owner along with dyno sheets from MWE and the motor was nearly $20K to build and has less than 1000 miles on it and the owner of the car wants $13K for it including all of the injection and computer. As mentioned, I'll be posting this motor separately once I have a chance to look over some of the receipts in greater detail but if anyone has interest "now" you can email me directly. Thanks, Craig

Dark "smoke" colored lexan Caterham windscreen off of 1999 standard bodied Cat (i.e. non-SV). This windscreen has been used maybe a half-dozen times (at a few autocrosses) and is in excellent condition. I have a 100% fresh and ready to go 1700cc "all steel" Steve Jennings built BDA motor that will bolt right in your Ford powered Lotus 7, Caterham, or replica. Here are a few of the details. Fully dry sumped, and includes 45DCOE Webers, distributor, ignition, mounted alternator, and complete exhaust system for the motor from a Caterham chassis. This is basically a "plug and play" motor that is fresh from Jennings shop (premier BDA builder in the U.S.). It is an "all steel" motor with billet Cosworth crank, rods, and jackshaft and Cosworth pistons as well. The cam combination that is in the motor routinely yeilds 190 horsepower on 1600cc motors, so with the extra 100cc displacement we are figuring 195 to 200bhp, and with 10.5:1 compression it will run just fine on premium pump gas. The motor belongs to a customer of mine who was looking for a crossflow powered Caterham to buy that I posted the "wanted" ad for last month in order to install this motor in but this morning he pulled the trigger on a hot-rod early Lotus Elan (with Cosworth motor) and so the BDA is now for sale. The price of the motor is $10,500 FIRM and it is truly a steal at this price (notwithstanding the ignition, alternator, and Lotus exhaust system). It is still in the shipping crate that it came in from California (shipping was about $450 from California to Ohio for whatever that's worth to give interested parties an idea of shipping costs) and also includes an air cleaner assembly and extra belt. A customer of mine is looking to buy a newer Kent powered (i.e. crossflow) Caterham for street and occasional track use. The ideal car would be as follows: under 15K miles Left Hand drive '95 or newer de Dion wide track front end cycle fenders can be 4 speed or 5 speed and it's not a problem if the motor is somewhat "tired" since I will be going through it in pretty short order. Fair price paid for the right car and if you are looking to sell a Caterham that's not quite as described above feel free to let me know.
