  1. Michael,

How much for the upper/lower front control arms (I don't really need the brake lines). Might be interested in the sway bar if it works with the a-arm setup. Thanks in advance and you can email me direct at chima97@aol.com. Craig

  2. This chassis has been sold. thanks to those who inquired. Craig
  3. I have a new Caterham chassis that was going to be the basis of a still-born vintage race car project that I'd now like to sell. Absolutely perfect RHD chassis built to S2/S3 Lotus specs. This is a black powdercoated chassis, and the aluminum skins still have the blue plastic protective film on them. Ready for assembly. Will sell for the $11K that I have in it. Craig Chima (330) 807-0742 or chima97@aol.com. I'm starting to liquidate a 30+ year collection of Lotus 7/Caterham stuff so please feel free to contact me if you have any specific needs or wants.
  4. Have a mid-80's Caterham "classic" chassis to sell. This is a bare chassis (i.e. no suspension or aluminum) that was the basis for a very successful SVRA racer for many years. Is RHD, and has a very nice single hoop rollbar, side impact bars, and a "halo" bar surrounding the rear gas tank/cell mount. This chassis is straight and sound (i.e. no rot anywhere) and will accept S2, S3 "7" or Caterham suspension bits (a-frame, trailing arms, front suspension, etc). A "real" (i.e. steel tube) transmission tunnel and rear transmission mount was also welded into the chassis. All rivet holes have been welded shut and ground off, but the chassis will need some minor repair around the battery tray area (the center was cut out by a previous owner). This chassis will make a great starting poiont for a race car, track day car, or Caterham based street car. $2350 and can email pix if interested. Located in Akron, OH chima97@aol.com or (330) 807-0742
  5. About 10# each. As light as I could find in a 15" wheel.
  6. I have six (6) identical Spinwerkes one-peice aluminum wheels that I'd like to sell. They are 4 on 4.250" bolt circle which makes them perfect for most Caterhams or other engligh ford applications. Backspace is 4.750 which means that they'll fit under stock Caterham clamshell and rear fenders. The wheels cost $250 each new, and are 4 are absolutely "as new" and the other 2 are very, very nice. Perfect for mounting up a 2nd set of tires for autocross or track day use. The wheels I have are the ones in the upper right hand corner of the picture in this link: [/url]http://www.spinwerkes.com/update1/DrgRce5engrv09.jpg (sorry but their website is being updated and it's the best picture I can find). I can take pictures of my wheels if you like and need to get $600 for all six which is 40% of the new cost. Wheels are in Akron, OH and I will be happy to ship or deliver to LOG in Gettysburg. Thanks in advance, Craig. chima97@aol.com or (330) 807-0742 cell
  7. Stock Radiator from 1978 Caterham. Just pressure checked and is fine, and is "cosmetically" in excellent condition as well. $150 Lightweight Aluminum flywheel for Ford Kent based motors (pre-crossflow, crossflow, twincam, BDA, etc). Was just removed from a BDA powered Caterham and comes with uprated stock-type clutch and driven disc. Ready to install, is in excellent condition, and will fit any Ford Kent 6 bolt crank. $250 for all. Craig at chima97@aol.com or (330) 807-0742 Akron OH
  8. Rod, I sent you a reply to your message yesterday and would like to see pix of the JPE screen. I also have a stock windscreen that I might consider letting go. Craig
  9. Forgot to list in my original post, but I have the dash and guages also available from the 79 Caterham. It is a right hand drive dash with Autometer 7000 rpm tach, Smiths speedometer, and Stewart Warner ammeter, water temp, and oil pressure guages. Also includes miscellaneous switches including keyed starter. $200 for all. Craig

  11. Not sure if you're just looking for the aluminum peices, but if not I have a complete set of front and rear Caterham fenders in very, very nice condition that I will be posting for sale sometime in the next few days. They could be used "as is" or would simply need to be scuffed and painted. Craig (330) 807-0742 or chima97@aol.com Akron Oh
  12. James, I can probably help with your wheel situation. Have 2 sets of Caterham (Ford 4 on 4.25") wheels that I was going to be posting soon (along with a bunch of other Caterham/original 7 parts). One set is 4 spoke American Racing Libra wheels (7" wide, I believe) and the other set also American Racing, but is a multi-spoke design and is 6" wide I believe. Was planning on taking pix of everything this weekend and posting early next week. I'm in Akron, OH so probably not too far and the wheels will likely be priced in the $300-$400 per set range (roughly 1/2 the cost of new). You can email me directly at chima97@aol.com to follow-up or call my cell (330) 807-0742. Craig
  13. Have a matching pair of VDO Tach & Speedo that just came out of a S2 Lotus 7 that is being converted to a SCCA race car. Guages are 3.250 O.D. to outer edge of bezel, and take 3" hole in dash which makes them ideal for Lotus 7 or clone. Tach has pointer to set at desired shift RPM (or redline) and Speedo is mechanical and includes cable (was being used in Ford powered car with Ford tranny). Both have black face and bezel. $75 for the pair, including shipping to the continental U.S. Craig (330) 807-0742 or chima97@aol.com
  14. This is NOT the car from Oregon. I bought it unregistered from Sevens & Elans about 2.5 years ago. As of that time it had done a couple of track days at Lime Rock, but that was it. In fact, it was not quite even "finished" (interior bits, spare tire bracket, etc) when I bought it. It has been registered and occasionally driven in Ohio for the past 2 years. And, I do not care to debate the "fastest" question and never claimed it to be. Chris T says that it is the fastest he has driven and it is fast enough to scare the hell out of anyone with a heavy right foot. Definately not for the timid. Craig
  15. Yes, that is my car, and yes the 1200 miles is accurate. Just don't have a chance to drive it much and am in the process of building a 1800 sq ft shop with which to do restoration and race prep work so I need the $$ more than the car right now. Is the the fastest of all; I don't know. Is it faster than anything I've ever driven or as fast as anything I'd ever want to drive on the street; absolutely. The car is spot-on perfect and essentially brand new. Located in Akron, OH. While I bought the car from Chris (one of his East Coast customers, actually) about 2.5 years ago and he's been gracious enough to post it for sale on his site, anyone interested can also contact me directly at chima97@aol.com for additional details. Craig

  17. Robb, I don't have any "spare" parts lying around and frankly, I've never tried to source them stateside. But the world is an amazingly small place these days and I've communicated with QED in the U.K. on numerous occasions and they assure me that anything needed for the motor is on-the-shelf in-house or could be sourced by them within a matter of days. I was originallly a bit leery of the car for this same reason (unknowns relating to the motor) but can tell you that the people at QED have been very helpful with technical info and general questions. I build and restore vintage & historic race cars (mostly British) for a living and order parts from several suppliers in the U.K. on a regular basis and generally I can have something here (Ohio) in under 2 weeks from the time I order it. Craig
  18. Mike, I ran 1:11.1 with the car (using Stack lap timer, so it's a 100% legit time). Did 5 or 6 laps in a row in the low 1:11's and I was really trying to get into the 1:10's but couldn't find the last tenth. But that was on 7 year old Avon street tires (same tires I got with the car, and Chris at 7's and Elans told me that they needed to be replaced when I bought it!). I've recently purchased a 2nd set of wheels and have mounted up some low-time Formula Ford slicks (exactly the same size as the Avons) and think that the car will do 1:05's or 1:06's. Those are competitive National S2000 or FF2000 times by the way. Saw 141mph on the Stack display before I lifted at the kink. The car would easily do 145+ at a place like Road America. Yes, the car is scary fast...
  19. v robb, I have not yet posted the car for sale here but I am going to be selling my 2001 Superlight + in the near future. Bought this car from Chris at Sevens & Elans 2.5 years ago and have put about 700 miles on it since that time. Here is the link to the original ad for the car. http://www.sevenselans.com/cars_for_sale/2001_caterham/index.htm The car is now spot-on perfect in every regard and is road reigstered in Ohio (it actually wasn't "finished" when I bought it -- had run only a couple of track days at Lime Rock). The Vauxhall motor is now 2.3L and makes just shy of 300bhp and is dry-sumped with the oil tank integrated into the Caterham bellhousing. This is a legitimate sub 3 second car to 60mph, and I can actually lap faster at Nelson Ledges in this car on street tires than my current E Production lap record (over 100 mph AVERAGE speed). Faster than a CSR and lighter too. Expensive at $50K, but the car cost nearly $80K to build and it has about 1300 miles on it now. For anyone else who might be interested, I'll try to get some pix taken and posted in the For Sale section sometime soon. Craig
