Growing up, what were some of the toys you remember . . . . . . Here's a few from my younger days.

Well, I'd already told Croc that I would more than likely not get to make the event this year. I was keeping my finger crossed, but today, the final nail was put in the coffin. Beach house rental for our 17th annual extended family vacation is during the July 4th weekend. Last year, I was (we were) able to move the beach house dates around to accommodate the USA7’s funfest, but this year was a no-go. So, since family outings to the beach trump track days, the Storker will be at home in the shop, moping about. If there are any out there who are considering making this event, let me encourage you to do so. Mike and Tom go above board to ensure all have a great time. As for me…….hopefully next year.

I got lucky on this one. When I was in high school, I worked at a local grocery store. One day, as I was out on the lot gathering buggies, I saw parked in the lot what, at the time, was a brand new Toyota Carolla; white with some sort of sporty stripes and a tan interior. I thought it a great looking car and would be a good commute. But, as fate would have it, along came Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, Coors and Pontiac to the rescue and I quickly migrated to lusting after the American iron of the time. The Idea of owning that white Carolla got pushed to the back of my mind. The memory is now old and dusty, but still there. In all fairness, if you stuck a Crossflow in front of me, I'd stand there with a deer-in-the-headlights look; sadly, I know between very little and nothing about Crossflows. But looking back, I have to wonder if half a HEMI would have been better than no HEMI at all. . . . . . . . :jester:
